Please, I am having trouble interpratating some scripture, could someone help. The scripture is Exodus 21:2-6. It talks about how to treat your slaves and I don't really understand what it means. I will be truly greatful.

This was pretty much unheard of at that time - a declaration by the Lord that Hebrew slaves owned by Hebrews were to be respected as human beings. They were not to be treated as mere property; they were to have some control over their lives. It was a kind of Emancipation Proclamation.
