The best way to know God better is to read his word.
It is the power of God unto salvation Romans 1:16
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Gods blessings as you walk with him, and seek a deeper relationship
with our King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Jesus.

I have been a christian since age 15. But have suffered from depression at various times. Sometimes it hurts so bad that I have grown so weary and even doubted my salvation. I am tired of doubting, I just want to believe but it is not in my power to do so. God must give me that gift.

well come to talkjesus.God bless you
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:12–13
love you in christ:handshake:

God gave you faith to believe when you were 15.
He is the same God today.
It doesn't take 'great' faith to be at peace with God, but faith the size of a mustard seed ,in a "Great' God.
Stop looking at your own strength, and turn your eyes upon Jesus.
Cast your cares upon him, for he cares for you.
Look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.
I would recommend you so fill your eyes ,and heart with the word of God, so there is no room for Satan to make you doubt.
That is his method.
Recognize it for what is is, and turn from it to that gift of faith God has given you, then ,from faith to faith allow it to grow by the grace of our loving Savior, Jesus.
Father ,Help this your Son, to overcome, and grow in grace and knowledge of you, in Jesus name, amen

Depression
I don't really know what to write to fully capture the way I feel. It is difficult to explain depression unless it is experienced. It steals your joy and causes doubt in your faith. I have experienced this since 15 off and on. I didn't know what it was I was experiencing in the early years but know much more now after much research. I am searching for the answers in Jesus. I hold onto his grace and try to live one day at a time.

Welcome to TalkJesus. I know a bit about depression, having been on an antidepressant for years myself and seen it in my family as well. May I point out that faith is not emotion-based. Faith is a decision. I urge you to ignore what your emotions are telling you about faith and center on what the New Testament tells you about it.

Thanks for the encouragement
I have had several very encouraging messages. I do realize that faith is a decision and is a gift from God. It is not based on emotion so I hold onto faith very tightly. I may not feel very well right now emotionally, but I know that to live is Chirst!!
