I don't believe we should get married because of lustful thoughts or to have sex so it won't be a sin. I believe we need to get married to please God and get married to someone that will help us grow in Christ. Also I believe we should get married to someone that uses the Bible for a road map and believes close to what we believe.

I believe today's world has hurt Christians because back in the day we didn't have all this education to hold back people from marrying. Don't get me wrong, education is great, but it still don't blind me from the fact that it is holding back marriage. I know it is hard for young people to hold back sexual desires and thoughts and it takes a lot of prayer and a lot of Bible reading to win the battle of sexual thoughts.

I agree, but I think if a person was in love, and had lust for their partner and that couple has a close relationship with God and they've been together for more than a few years, I think it is better for them to marry, and to become one, then to end up lusting to the point where they have sex before marriage. I think it takes discipline, but with God's Help, and prayer, through the Holy Spirit, anything can be done.

Immorality is caused by lust. Marriage will cause them to fall in lust even more worse than when they are unmarried.

Real love comes from God.

God bless you.

I don't believe it would cause them to fall if they focused on their Relationship with God more than their lust, and learned how to control and maintain those feelings. And I also think that marrying JUST for lust is very wrong. Anything can be done through prayer and Trust in God.

God bless.

Dear sister,

What you said is absolutely true, provided the married couple are both born again Christians. But you can't guarentee that both of them will be born again Christians. So what I said could be applicable in other cases because when they don't know the Lord, how can they trust Him?

God bless you.

Oh I just misunderstood, I'm sorry. I didn't know you were talking about a couple that is not saved. If it a solution to an unbelieving couple, with lust and sexual desires, then I don't think it is right. If they had God, they'd realize that their motive behind wanting to get married is wrong. We need God and His Word to help us understand right and wrong. This is happening with so many couples...They are always in my prayers.

Grace and peace, Brother.

OK well I voted yes, but under a few conditions. I got married when I was 19 and my wife was 18. I had a lot of people tell me, "Dude you gotta live a little". "You are way too young" I know I am young, but I knew what I wanted. I wanted to serve God as best I could. Being married was the best way I could do that. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with this woman, we were together every day the only difference between when we were dating is obviously the marital relations, and sleeping in the same bed.
Otherwise not much has changed.
Now that I have over a year of marraige under my belt I have really lost respect for people who divorce in the first year. Your not even trying. My secret to a happy marraige is simple: Do as the Bible says. Every divorce can be traced to pride and selfishness. Both not biblical traits.
Maybe we are an exception. Maybe we are lucky. I don't know, but what I do know is I would never go back to being single. I love my life, wife, and everything in between. And I thank God for all he has given me. He is too generous to an undeserving soul like me.

God Bless you all

Bill

same here  i voted first . . .then read it . . .cause i didnt wanna be influenced on what i was thinkin. . .however. . .sometimes it would be better to first read . . .then vote. . .oops!

as in billyeah*s case I married with 19 after just knowing my *now* hubby for 4 month . . .this year we are married in April for 16 years and it was the best that could have happened in my life

my kids are from almost 19 down to 10 years old . . .and if they were in any way of getting married soon . . .it would surely have to base on more then lust! and a school age! hmm . . . so far my thoughts. . this poll was opened in 2005 . . .wonder what this young person decided who was asking for advice

I think young marriages (if the couple is ready) is a good way to keep from sinning. My hubby and I partly got married when we did because of this reason. The other part is because we love each other <3
