Baptism. Is there a correct formula?

I’m curious to see how forum members will weigh in on these two questions: (and please support your answers with biblical evidence if/when possible, thank you in advance)

1. Does God’s Word lay out a specific and/or correct formula for how believers are to be baptized?

2. Can anyone point to any specific incident of a person(s) being baptized in the New Testament who WERE NOT baptized in the name of Jesus?

1. There's no specific formula. In the Biblical worldview, the sea/waters are associated with the forces of chaos and death (Noah, Jonah ). Baptism recalls the crossing of the Red sea and the Jordan, descending to death and rising to new life
2. John baptised for repentance, not in the name of Jesus. Since Jesus death and resurrection, all Christian baptism is in the name of Jesus.

Thank you for your answer. And thank you for pointing out the connection between baptism today and passage through water in the OT.

I love how God intricately weaves His Word together….how we find so many type and shadows of things to come in the OT.
I realize it may be cliche, but we certainly see that the OT is the NT concealed, while the NT is the OT revealed! It’s still pretty amazing when a believer begins to truly see it for themselves!
