“Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “Uncircumcision” by the so-called “Circumcision,” which is performed in the flesh by human hands— remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity.” (Ephesians 2:11-16 NASB1995)

In context, what this is talking about is that, before Jesus Christ came into the world, and before he died on that cross and was resurrected from the dead, so that by faith in him we could die to sin and walk in obedience to his commands, in his power, all non-Jews were excluded from biblical Israel. They were called the Gentiles. But through Jesus’ death and resurrection he made Jew and Gentile, by biblical faith in Jesus Christ, into one, no longer to be separate as they once were by Jew and Gentile, but one people in Christ.

For when Jesus died and rose again, all Jews who refused to believe in him as their Messiah (the Christ, their Lord) were cut out of biblical Israel, and all Gentiles (non-Jews) who trusted in Jesus as their Lord and Savior were, thus, grafted into Israel. So biblical Israel, the Israel of God, is no longer the Jewish nation which has rejected Jesus as their Messiah, but it is comprised of all who by faith in Jesus Christ have died with Christ to sin and who have been resurrected with him to walk in his righteousness, and no longer in sin.

[Genesis 17:7-9; Genesis 18:19; John 8:18-19,38-47; Romans 2:28-29; Romans 6:1-23; Romans 8:1-14; Romans 9:4-8,25-28; Romans 11:1-36; 1 Corinthians 10:1-22; Galatians 3:16,26-29; Galatians 4:22-31; Ephesians 2:11-22; Ephesians 3:1-6; Hebrews 3:1-19; Hebrews 4:1-16; Hebrews 8:6-13;1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 2:22; Jude 1:5; Revelation 2:9; Revelation 3:9]

For being cut out of Israel does not have to be permanent. Any Jew who believes in Jesus Christ can be grafted into Israel, as were the Gentiles who believed in Jesus Christ. And anyone, Jew or Gentile, can yet put their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus and become part of biblical Israel. And any Christian who has wandered from the faith can be brought back to God via biblical repentance, via dying with Christ to sin and now turning from their sins to walk in obedience to his commands, in the power of God.

But faith in Jesus Christ, which results in salvation and forgiveness of sins and eternal life with God, is not what so many people are teaching today as the gospel. For we cannot just make a verbal confession of Christ as Savior and Lord of our lives and then expect God to let us into his heaven. Biblical faith requires biblical repentance, which involves a change of heart and mind, resulting in a change of behavior. It means denying self, dying to sin, and now following our Lord in obedience to his commands, by his grace.

For, although we are not under the Old Covenant liturgical, ceremonial, sacrificial, purification, circumcision, dietary, and Sabbath laws, we are not to be lawless. We are taught in the New Testament that a critical and necessary component of Christian faith is obedience to our Lord’s commands, which is taught to us in the New Testament. And sin is no longer to be what we practice. For if sin is what we practice, and not obedience to God, we will not inherit eternal life with God, regardless of what we profess.

So, please take this to heart. And please read the Scriptures in their biblical context. And do not rely on Scriptures being taught out of their correct and necessary biblical context, which are being twisted and altered to teach what they do not teach if taught in the correct biblical context. And please be people of God who are testing against the Scriptures, taught in their full and necessary context, whatever you are hearing from any teachers of the Word of God. And also be people of God who die to sin and who obey our Lord.

Bombs are bursting. Night is falling.
Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.
Trust Him with your life today.
Make Him your Lord and your Savior.
Turn from your sin. Follow Jesus.
He will forgive you of your sin;
Cleanse your heart, made new within.

Men betraying: Our trust fraying.
On our knees to God we’re praying,
Seeking God to give us answers
That are only found in Him.
God is sovereign over all things.
Nothing from His mind escaping.
He has all things under His command,
And will work all for good.

Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.

Men deceiving: We’re believing
In our Lord, and interceding
For our nation and its people
To obey their God today.
He is our hope for our future.
For our wounds He offers suture.
He is all we need for this life.
Trust Him with your life today.
