Call no man Teacher

Galatians 1:7-12
A man wrote that passage, and like you said: it's a big gamble to put your trust in
men.

You too are a man; therefore it's a big gamble to trust your understanding of what
that man wrote.

BTW: Until you can prove, beyond a shadow of sensible doubt, that you are infallible

and speaking for God ex cathedra, then I will continue to insist it's a big gamble to
trust anything you have to say about God and His son Jesus. For all I know, you might
be one of the Devil's ministers per 2Cor 11:14-15. Not saying you are; only suggesting
the possibility.

What you and others are arguing against is what Jesus said, not me.

Jesus said to call no man your teacher, master, or father, not me.

Jesus also said in
Luke 6:46
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

If you all want to ignore and dismiss the words of Jesus Christ, that is your choice, but a bad choice in my opinion.

Many have quoted from Ephesians 4 in order to argue against what Jesus said about calling no man your teacher, for One is your teacher, even Christ.

So who teaches the body of Christ? That is to say, who is the Head?

Ephesians 4:1-21

King James Version

4 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
20 But ye have not so learned Christ;
21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:”

All those mentioned in verse 11 have been taught by Christ, who is the Head of the body, being taught by the One Spirit of Truth that is at work in the body of Christ.

The head of man is not supposed to be Man. The head of man is supposed to be Christ.

2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

My trust is not in the man, but in God’s Word that God put in his mouth.

Isaiah 59:21
As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.

Isaiah 59:21 . . As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit
that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart
out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy
seed's seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.
Isaiah was a man; therefore you would be taking a big gamble to put your trust in
his writings.

You are seriously tiring me quoting the Bible in your defense because it was
written by men who, for all you know, are no more trustworthy than Muhammad's
Koran, the Hindu's Vedas, Buddha’s Sutras, and/or Joseph Smith's Book of Mormon,
et al.

My defense is the sword of the Spirit
In reality, your trust is in the man who wrote about the sword.

BTW: You too are a man; therefore according to your own words in post No.17, it's

a big gamble to trust anything you say about the Bible, i.e. you have no credibility
here.

Clearly you are confused. Holy men spoke and wrote down the words of God. The words of God is not the words of men, that is where you are confused.

1 Thessalonians 2:13
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.”

If you want to reject the words of Jesus, and the words of God spoken by the holy prophets and apostles, then that is your choice. But I will warn you, that is a very bad choice.

My conversation with you is over.

Not one dull moment, in the neighborhood.:no_mouth:

You cannot tell me, that Christianity is not Divided!

And the killing part, no body thinks that it is. Except The Unbelievers and pagans and devil worshippers. and those Groups are growing at a Rapid Pace and growing stronger and powerful
everyday!!! And they are training our kids and grandchildren at a great pace.

The last time I checked the definition of a Christian is one who believes in and follows the words of Jesus Christ. Just sayin:eyes:

If you want to reject the words of Jesus, and the words of God spoken by the holy

The prophets and the apostles were men. According to your own words in post

of Jesus and the words of God.

Psalm 25:4
Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.

Psalm 25:8
Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

Psalm 25:12
What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

Psalm 27:11
Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.

Psalm 86:11
Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.

Psalm 94:12
Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law;

Psalm 119:12
Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes.

Psalm 119:33
Teach me, O Lord, the way of thy statutes; and I shall keep it unto the end.

Psalm 119:64
The earth, O Lord, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes.

Psalm 119:108
Accept, I beseech thee, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O Lord, and teach me thy judgments.

No doubt Paul was taught by many carnally minded men growing up as a Pharisee. And no doubt he studied the scriptures on a daily basis. But Paul confessed that he now had no confidence in the flesh, and all that learning was as Dung compared to being taught by Christ.

Philippians 3:1-8

King James Version

3 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe.
2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.
3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:
5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,”

Jeremiah 17:5
Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.”

Isaiah 29:13-14

King James Version

13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid”

Isaiah 28:9-13

King James Version

9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
13 But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.”

Corinthians 1:19-31

King James Version

19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.”

Luke 21:15
For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

The last time I checked the definition of a Christian is one who believes in and follows the words of Jesus Christ. Just sayin:eyes:
Yep you better keep on checking its definition, its definition is a like a "New York Stock Exchange Market" since the pagans, The ungodly, Greek God worshippers gave it, its Greek's name [christians] and I know its definition sure have change a lot in order to cover up the Truth, and a lot different definition since the Day I was "Born from Above" in the year of 1977. at least then, it did have a "universal definition". then, but not today. There is no "Universal definition is what a christian is. Now days the term "Christian" comes in all kinds of "Rainbow" colors.:eyes:

1 Thessalonians 2:13
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.”

I am just adding to yours since I have a moment, that verse blends nicely behind Jesus words in John 17:8 too

They were at least confident God spoke to Moses (since he delievered the tablets written by the finger of God, not man)

John 9:29 We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is.

Regardless, as Jesus pointed out

John 5:46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.

As it is written here concerning him

Deut 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth(Hebrews 3:5) and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.(John 7:16, Acts 3:22 & Acts 7:37 )

Christ speaks accordingly

John 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

And giving them the words he himself received of the Father

John 17:8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee,
and they have believed that thou didst send me.

Followed by his prayer for them and those also who will believe on him through their word

John 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word

For which cause also they gave thanks saying,

1 Thes 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men,
but as it is in truth, the word of God,
which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

As Jesus said,

John 8:37 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

These same affirm

1 John 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

And since they preached not themselves

2 Corinthians 4:5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.

And since

Acts 20:30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

John had likewise written these things concerning them that would seduce you

1 John 2:6 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.

Saying,

1 John 2:7 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things,
and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Even as it is written

Psalm 40:4 Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

And again,

Psalm 118:8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
