Can a Christian person have demons?

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Galatians 5:1

On March 13, 2000, I started at a five-day retreat called, "Five Days Of Healing." After four days of solid bible teaching, and four evenings of doing business with God, on the morning of March 17, we had our deliverance session. After the class prayed the given prayer, the Spirit of God pushed all of us down onto the floor. For the next half-hour or so, the staff worked in conjunction with the Holy Spirit to free us from demonic oppression. This local parachurch ministry has been doing this since the 1970s. I thank the Lord for this ministry as I have received much freedom from it.

Yes the gospel the power of God can set us free. Not the hands of the confederacy .The different denominations that make up the bride of Christ the church . Men cannot cast demons without the strong man .The power of the gospel of Christ .

Falling to the floor can be dangerous both literally and spiritually. . God is not served by humans hands as a will.

Deliverance ministry is not to be lightly undertaken. Ministers should know what they're doing. It's not for show. It's a very serious situation. Did you know that laying hands on people can transfer demons? Most don't. Gives a new slant to this verse...
"Do not lay hands on anyone hastily, nor share in other people’s sins; keep yourself pure." - 1 Timothy 5:22 NKJV

Yes it is that work of God that works in us (not of us) to both reveal the good will and empower us to perform it .
You still have NOT explained that.

We have to obey JESUS.

When we OBEY Jesus it is the way Jesus works in us!

He is the Word of God!

What he says is Spirit and life and the truth and the way.

The only way to eat of his flesh and drink of his blood and receive the Holy Spirit is to OBEY WHAT HE SAYS.

You keep saying he works in us and that it is not of us, but that means WHAT????

You don't even explain you only repeat what false teachers say.
jesu did it with delight some murmur and kick aginst the pricks like Jonah .

.The gospel

Philipians 2: 13-14 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

If it is not God that works in us (not of us) to both reveal the good will of eternal God and empower us to perform it .Then who the father of lies?
What????

The Father of lies is the one who tells us that we don't have to obey and just believe or that you don't have to believe and obey until you are saved first (Luther, Calvin, Augustinian, etc. teachings).

Agree with you on that point.
So good to hear that.
The choice to obey God does not require anyone to be changed internally
Right!
What changes us, what makes us have the Lord in us, is when we obey His words.
That is how we eat of him.
That is how we have life in us and the Holy Spirit.
( i think the faith to believe God exists is a byproduct of sin which brings doubt)
You lost me there.
Not sure what you are talking about.
it wouldn't surprise me if everyone is born knowing God exists.
No, I don't believe that.
Since the fall of man we know have to be taught about God, or we wouldn't be told we have to. Faith comes from hearing and being taught and persuaded and convinced.

We do not get faith supernaturally, as many teach, but we get faith in a very human way, from reading the supernatural message.

Where does our faith come from? Our faith comes from HEARING the word, see Romans 10:17. From hearing the word and being TAUGHT, Colossians 1:5, 7. From continuing in what we have been CONVINCED of, see 2 Timothy 3:14, and being PERSUADED, 2 Corinthians 5:11.

they just do nothing with their own personal conviction of sin and stay in darkness rather than asking God to forgive them.
God only forgives sins Jesus and the Way Jesus tells us to do it.

For example as early as age 3-5 i was pondering the meaning of life while playing with useless toys in the church nursery. these memories came to mind after i was complaining to God about various matters
Wow, that is remarkable.
. i've always known God exists, faith has nothing to do with that for me.
We have to have faith and Jesus teaches us how to have it.

I've struggled over the past 2 years that I've been involved with Christian social media with how beat up I've gotten from harsh and hateful words I've received from others. At first, in order to keep my head above the water, I got tough. It worked well, but it's not who I am. I'm a worship leader...I'm sensitive. So I've decided that I will try to only respond with kindness and to kindness. Or not at all.
"…2with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3and with diligence to preserve the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called;…" - Ephesians 4:3

Who's post do you think it unkind, mine or your's?

The faith required to believe God exists comes from the person's doubt.. which showed up after sin
You say faith comes from doubt. I don't agree with that. It doesn't make any sense to me, and it isn't in the scriptures.

The scriptures say faith comes from hearing, being taught, convinced and persuaded.

Who's post do you think it unkind, mine or your's?
I don't know if I was addressing anyone in particular. I was addressing an overall attitude that I've found in Christian forums. There's a harshness, a viciousness, that is highlighted against Ephesians 4. Where being right is most important. I need to get a life so I'm not so dependent on these forums. :no_mouth:

How is what I am saying is repeating a false teaching? what the false teaching . . not trusting in or own flesh to profit for something ?

Human faith as a work has no power .

Do you think you can obey him before he gives you his will ? Again both working to reveal the will and also empower one to obey it.

Philipian13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Can you see the word "both" above? Not to will and never to do .

Remember previously being dead in our trespasses and sin without hope and God in this present world . We are power les to do nether .Know his good will or having power of His work of faith to obey .Christ does all the work of ones salvation or he does nothing.

2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us

You started acting strangely after my kind post to you that I carefully answered and you didn't even answer back.

Yeah.
Human faith as a work has no power .
Faith alone is dead. Faith with right action is life and Spirit.
Do you think you can obey him before he gives you his will ?
Of course.
God does NOT save unrepentant unbelievers.
Where do ever get that God gives us His will?

Again both working to reveal the will and also empower one to obey it.

Philipian13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
That is AFTER you are saved and receive the Holy Spirit.
Can you see the word "both" above? Not to will and never to do .
Not to will and never to do? What?
You have to know we receive God to help us AFTER being saved.
God saves those who believe and obeys Him.
Remember previously being dead in our trespasses and sin without hope and God in this present world .
That is about the GENTILES who were dead in their trespasses. That means the Gentiles did not come into the covenant with God and take care of their sin nature by doing the purification works of the law.

They were dead in their sins and the UNCIRCUMCISION of the flesh.

Please listen to me and think about it more carefully I am just trying to help you to know God's Truth.

Colossians 2:13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,

Did you read that?

Circumcision of the flesh was the sign that a person was in a covenant with God and that they did the other purification works.
When God saved the enemy Gentiles He didn't make them get circumcised first.
See the Jews didn't like it that Jesus saves the Gentiles the same as the Jews who obeyed their whole life.

You were taught wrong.
We are power les to do nether .
That is a Calvin and Luther false teaching.
That is a false teaching of most all denominations.
Know his good will or having power of His work of faith to obey .Christ does all the work of ones salvation or he does nothing.
No, no such thing. That is not true.
2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us
We receive purification and reconciliation from God, but we still have to obey. We just don't have to purify ourselves anymore, and he will raise us up from the dead.
Please consider more carefully.

The enemy can and will attack a believer so...

We put on the full armor of God
With the truth belt tight about our waists
With the righteous breastplate fit firmly into place
Our feet fitted with the gospel shoes of peace
Quench the evil one's fiery darts with the faith shield
With the salvation helmet on our heads
Take up the Spirit's sword which is God's word
And the glory of the Lord is our rearguard!

What I don't appreciate is when some strange dude comes along, a self-appointed teacher no less, and starts trying to tell me what I must believe and do.
You must do this, you must not believe that. If you treat me with kindness and respect, I may consider what you have to say. Otherwise, see that short pier over there? Go for a stroll...a long one!

Of course.
God does NOT save unrepentant unbelievers.
Where do ever get that God gives us His will?

He gives us both his will and his power to preform it as living loving commandment . Like below .

Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Again the living word does not give suggestions as theories rather than loving words as law not subject to change .

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

He is our very confidence that works in those yoked with Christ . He promises the slower learners like myself he will not give up on us .

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

In order to maintain his living promise of seeking his approval . He warns us of the many antichrists false apostles bringing false prophecy. They make his living loving comandments without effect.

1 John2: 26 -27These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him

Again both to will and to do (empower.)

That is AFTER you are saved and receive the Holy Spirit.

It is the power to be saved as we are saved and kept . We that live in earthen bodies of death have no power of our own before or after.

In that way if we give up our first love. . God working in us, he calls us back to repentance showing us not to put our trust in the eyes seen .Like Nicole the leader of that sect, Something he says he hates .He gives us ears to hear his understanding . . not the leader Nicole or any man .

Revelation 2:4-7 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; (believe God not Nicole) ) or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
