Greetings,
excuse my butting in...
could you please come at that (The main thing to acknowledge is that neither Jesus, the Father, nor the Word are King of those who disobey Him/Them.} again, perhaps in a different tongue, as i can not interpret what you are saying.
Those who serve sin do not serve God, (John 8:34), in any of His manifestations.
No man can serve two masters. (Matt 6:24)

You can be too, but it will require you to permanently turn from sin as a first step. (Acts 2:38)

Greetings,
I underlined your words there.
Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Acts 2:37-39
Forgive me if I get this wrong according to either how it is or your understanding....
The be baptized bit...
is that 'be baptized... ...for remission of sins' or 'repent... ...for the remission of sins' or both?
We are to get baptized for the remission of sins.
The water IS the blood of Christ. (1 John 5:8) with which we are cleansed.
Repentance, or, "turn from" sin is also a requirement.
If we don't turn from sin we cannot turn to God. (Acts 26:18)

Going back to your words quoted above,
So, does repent mean " to permanently turn from sin as a first step" and of course, the same question for be baptized and/or both?

does one have to permanently turn from sin as part of the regeneration/born again or whatever it gets called by all and sundry? OR...
is the regeneration part by God alone, (not of works, as you know) the new mind and heart and life that is permanently turned from sin.... I suppose with the proviso that the recipient remains faithful?

If this is too deep, please excuse me. His love is depthless.

Bless you ....><>
Yes, repentance does mean "turn from", in this case, from sin, and permanently.
If it isn't permanent it isn't a turn from. It is a "slow down to some degree" only.
Not good enough.
Baptism in Jesus' name for the remission of sins is the only way to rid yourself of the penalty for past sins. Thanks be to God!
Jesus is our sacrificial lamb.
Used but once, as our repentance will keep us from falling away from the faith again..

Simple answer is YES, repentance is part of the regeneration, our part to do in submission and in obedience to God.
We must do our part in order for God to do His part...which is based on our acceptance of His word being true...ie..."If you turn from sin and get baptized you WILL receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Do two things and get the third thing.
Our rebirth is done after our killing of the old self. (Rom 6:3-6), which happens at our baptism into Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.
There can't be two of us, one part catering to the flesh while the other part maintains a life walked in the Spirit.
.

Our rebirth is done after our killing of the old self.

How can anyone kill their flesh before being born again? How can any one mortify the deeds of the body without having the Spirit of God to do so?

Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

I must endure till the end. (Mk 13:13)

Endure to the end of what? Your life? I thought you have already died on the cross with Christ. Are we not suppose to live our lives as those who are alive from the dead?
Did not God the Father raise us up at the same time he raised up Jesus from the dead? Are we not already sitting in Heavenly places in Christ? Is not our citizenship in Heaven?

1John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

1Jn 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Hi Curtis.
Romans 6 outlines the procedure of being reborn.
Our crucifixion with Christ is first, followed by our burial with Him and then our resurrection with Him to walk in newness of life.

The word "mortify" in Rom 8:13 should be understood as "keep dead".
Keep the flesh dead, as Gal 5:24 says "And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts."
Manifest that new life given to you with your resurrection with Christ.

1Jn 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
We must endure till the end of time. Should that happen before our vessel is called home.
Our bodies are temporary abodes, beset by all the things the unfaithful endure.
Hunger and thirst, sickness and fear, cold and hot, even diseases.
But God is in charge after we submit to Him, so we have the knowledge that even in the worst of times He will be by our sides.
When the final judgement takes place we will be judged for our deeds done in these vessels: whether we are reborn, or not, will be manifested at our judgement.
The devil doesn't quit tempting us at our conversion. He works even harder to entrap the children of God than he does those already fallen.
Thanks be to God for scriptures like..."There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." (1 Cor 10:13)
