Church age ??

For me that is a non-answer, but I'll refer to the individual who began this thread and asked the original question about the beginning of the "Church Age" and let him decide!
I've already answered that but to repeat . The sixth day.

Non answer eh? LMAO

God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, have no beginning or end. God the Father God the Son God the Holy Spirit. . We also know Jesus is the Cornerstone of the Church. The Lord says "I change not" Tell me when He was not the cornerstone of the church.

The second time the word church is mentioned is... Now of course this wasn't originally English, it was the word...

ἐκκλησία
ekklēsia
ek-klay-see'-ah
From a compound of G1537 and a derivative of G2564; a calling out, that is, (concretely) a popular meeting, especially a religious congregation (Jewish synagogue, or Christian community of members on earth or saints in heaven or both): - assembly, church.

Matt 18:15; "If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother.
Matt 18:16; "But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that BY THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY FACT MAY BE CONFIRMED.
Matt 18:17; "If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.

This is not something I had noticed before, Jesus using the word church, this is way before Pentecost !! not only that when you read the parable that follows about forgiving sins and the rest of the chapter, it all seems to be teachings that hold for the church not the Law.

I do not understand why the word 'church' matters to so many so much. We are His body or are we only His church. Which brings me to this verse :

Exo_4:22 And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:

From a compound of G1537 and a derivative of G2564; a calling out, that is, (concretely) a popular meeting, especially a religious congregation (Jewish synagogue, or Christian community of members on earth or saints in heaven or both): - assembly, church.

This thread began by asking when the "Church Age " began.

The Church Age is common era ; very important and has nothing to do with all the "Churches" in the world.

The "Church Age" is the era when Christ died , was the Propetiation of our sins and the beginning of Believers in Christ as a Personal Savior. The "Church" Age is VERY important!!!
Church Age , God's Church

HI Reba thanks for your feed back, it seems to me people like to put Israel in one corner and the church in the other. With the most popular pre trib rapture theory, you will have people say the the tribulation is only for the Jews, the church age is over. And its time for God to deal with Israel. I do not agree with this. God can deal with everyone at one time just fine. And since Jesus begun the church we are one body, not two like most seems to suggest IMO

just trying to first establish when the church begun, and then next when the church age ends. Which I believe is at the second coming of Jesus and we go into the 1000 year rule

, but most will say no the church age ends at the pre trip rapture. because they see Israel and the church as different. SO trying to get thoughts on this also

thanks

I understand people using the term 'church age' labels help us explain lots of things . I understand most folks in some form consider the 'church age' to be in the general time frame of The birth of Christ or the Cross of Christ until His return. That is for our understanding but i do not see that divide in Scripture ... Moses Noah Isaiah ETC, to me are as much part of the body of Christ as we are today.

If you believe the resurrection is as Jesus said it is, The last day .. John 6 ,40 and 44 how do you measure 1000 years if there are no more days?

Mat_16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Some folks believe Peter is the rock Jesus is referring to, i believe the Rock is Christ .We agree, i believe Christ has no beginning or end. Dave, an OT search of the word rock is interesting.

We'll all know soon enough.
It seems so often slow but you're time is near.
Are you ready?

one thing that comes to mind and is in revelation, Jesus speaks of the tree of life, and it producing fruit, each month. So it seems maybe there is a way to measure time ? I am not sure though, but have always been fascinated with this verse

Revelation 22:2
Through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

I think its is a way to view the church. the proclamation of the Gospel is the chosen means to victory and healing.

@Reba1 I really like this, we are all sons and daughter of God, the Jews are the first born and we are not, its pretty much that simple. In the OT we have the first born loosing his birth right to the second born, wonder if there is some type of Parallel in that.

I am going to use your post in a bible study I have later today if that is ok.
