Greetings,

I don’t know if im writing this on the right page but i have this question and maybe asking for encouragement too.

In our walk with Christ, we are not perfect, even in our day to day lives, at work or even in our personal lives, but what is the greatest thing that you still battling with right now and How do you conquer it?

I would love to hear it from you guys and be encouraged.

Blessed day with you all.

Greetings,

as i have considered this question Jellani @Jellani , i have had all sorts of 'little' or minor challenges come to mind which often appear to be 'big' or major things especially at the time they are happening in my day to day life.
From such considerations i have become more and more aware that the real challenge is not those things but the fact that i often major on minor things while the major things remain minor.

How can i deal with that? How do i deal with that?

I have been able to recognize, through God's help, that the problem is with the way i think or don't think. What i can so easily start believing overtakes the One in Whom i believe, to the point that i start to worship and praise the problems as lords of my life in who i will either have peace or lose it, which is totally stupid!
When i begin to let something or someone else take my thoughts captive, i cease to be captivated by the hope i have in Christ. He is my peace. Nothing else is, nor can be.
So the battle is often in my mind. What i think about can become an enemy to the Peace of God in me. BUT, i give God the glory in that He does not leave me in a miry pit, He does not ignore my need for His Shepherd's hand to deliver me from danger. I can resist and quite often i do for a time until His patient forbearance with me becomes my only stronghold left. Too often i have pursued vain thoughts about troubles that come my way, in an attempt to work out my victory over them, rather than working out my Salvation by acknowledging Him Who loved me and gave Himself for me and has promised to never leave me, nor forsake me, the One Who is Faithful and True.

How do i deal with my challenges?
There are many, many Scripture passages and verses and stories that help me. For example, The Lord is my Shepherd. I shall not want. That covers so much and it is only when i turn my eyes and thoughts to Him that i can have any victory.

You asked,
How do you conquer

and i realise more and more that i don't.
When i stop trusting my strength which is so weak, i can rejoice in His Strength.
What does this say to you?

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.
Romans 8:37

It is when we forget Who He is and why He has given us His Life that we can get lost in battles, but....
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
Jeremiah 17:7

Consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
Hebrews 12:3

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Now we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this surpassingly great power is from God and not from us. We are pressed on all sides, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;

2Corinthians 4:6-8

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
Psalm 27:14

Amen. Last night as i was meditating He reminded me of His Word

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭

You are right the battle really is on our mind. Thank you for the reminder.

Greetings,

I would like to add to what i wrote earlier,

one thing i can say with complete honesty is that this thought and Scripture is not only so very true but has also many times borne fruit for me, in me and to me, and i want to publicly thank the LORD and offer my praise to Him, and let you all know, that it is good to give thanks to the LORD, for He IS good and His merciful loving kindness endures for ever!

In the multitude of my thoughts within me Thy comforts delight my soul.
Psalm 94:19

this is one of my most favourite songs and i do recommend you play it and listen, especially if you have any concerns in the evenings, but at any time, the Word of the Lord is True and a Light unto you

There were a lot sir, but the greatest one is letting go of the chains of the past, there were still fears but i believe the hatred was gone, i thank God coz on our own it will be really hard to find forgiveness, but He keeps on reminding us what really love is.

Daily i am still keep on struggling to live His Word, but it is also the One who reminds me to live in the truth.

Greetings Jellani,

sometimes we also do well to remember that He also is our rest and to come to Him that we might have His rest.

A big part of our struggles is often not entering in, being still and knowing His rest for us. We get trying so hard at times and forget that it is Him working out His will, His perfect will for us and in us and through us and He wants us to to find rest in Him.

Greetings Jellani,

Any chains from our past are from the devil, those chains must be set free, when we belong to Christ the devil no longer has any rights over us, he thinks he does, he will hit us at our weakest points and weakest times. We have to stand in faith, tell the devil he has no rights over us, tell him Jesus is your Lord, pray for protection through the blood of Christ, rebuke the devil, we are more than conquerors Jellani, we are overcomers.

Revelation 3:21 (NKJV)
21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

Romans 8:37 (NKJV)
37 in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

1 John 4:4 (NKJV)
4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Romans 8:31 (NKJV)
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

You know the Truth Jellani, the Truth is in the Word, and the Truth will set you free.

Stand in faith, look to Christ, there is no point in looking back, the past as gone, we cannot change it, Jesus is all we need.

Praying for you

Peace be with you

Blessed day with you all.
The hardest thing to overcome is the "flesh". We are surrounded by it as long as our physical bodies are still alive. All temptation comes as the results of our strong desires (lust) and enticed by them.(James 1:14) The lusts of the flesh are a major obstacle to overcome.
The only way to have victory over the flesh is to walk in the Spirit.

Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Those who walk in the Spirit have their mind set on things of the Spirit. Those who walk in the flesh have their mind set on the things of the flesh.(Romans 8:5)

Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

thank you for your encouraging words.
We all need reminding daily.

Let all those that seek Thee rejoice and be glad in Thee: let such as love Thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.
Psalm 40:16

I love them that love Me; and those that seek Me early shall find Me.
Proverbs 8:17

And they that know Thy name will put their trust in Thee: for Thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek Thee.
Psalm 9:10

again, thank you Sister

Bless you sir and your family

Salamat po

thank you Sister Jellani.

may i ask, i am humbled by you addressing me as 'sir' but i do much rather prefer to be a servant, no matter how much i fail in my task as a servant to any or all, so, please, call me brother.

When i read, 'sir' my flesh puffs up and swells with pride ....
but my heart sinks in shame at the thought.

I can assure you that i am not worthy to be called 'sir' and except for my Lord, i am not worthy at all. I am indeed less than all here. All i share with you or others is my feeble attempt to meet up to the task as a servant of Christ Jesus Who has delivered me from my wretched past and keeps me, although i deserve it not.

As i said in my first reply, He is my peace.

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
there is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
as Thou hast been, Thou forever wilt be.

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see:
all I have needed Thy hand hath provided--
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
sun, moon, and stars in their courses above
join with all nature in manifold witness
to Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide,
strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
