Chad, I met my husband at a christian site called bigchurch. We talked many times before we ever met, even though we were only about 40 miles from each other. I wanted to be sure he really loved the Lord, and he does!

I've been interested in just talking with a perspective match, but concerned about other services. I'd been interested in one that made me feel safe. Cost? well I checked out eharmony, but honestly couldn't affort $50/month. Besides, I guess what I'd really like is a pen pal with possibilities. TalkJesus, has been a real blessing to me. great idea. doit for singles and for others trapped in a loveless marriage. for those who want a spritual loving marriage but will never know one because of their unsaved partner. who has no desire to be saved or to ever know Jesus.

I am not sure if I am misreading the intent here, but folks in a loveless marriage shouldn't be on a dating site, but instead praying for a "miracle of heart" in their own marriage.

I do think it is important to have fellowship with other christians that can understand and share similar circumstances such as seeking a life partner, single parenting, rebuilding a life when your spouse leaves, etc...

A singles site will be as holy or sinful an experience as each user makes it. It could be a great blessing to many who are willing to build friendships and pursue any further relationship only after seriously seeking God.

If I were using a christian singles site I would consider $15 a month or $35 for 3 month reasonable. As it is, I am praying for my husband's salvation, his return, and the restoration of our marriage.

I am actually looking for a dating service. I don't really like the single gig, and was looking on TalkJesus because I saw the forum on the homepage. I don't think that a christian dating service should have to cost anything. I understand the fees of the webspace, and the domain names, and all the rest, but I'm just fifteen; I can't afford much. I've got a 500 dollar payment I'm working on now with a hand held pocket computer from Dell.com. I have a public library fee of 25 bucks. I have a lot of things that I need to pay off, and I'm believing God for the money to do it, because I know He doesn't want me to be in debt. But I just wouldn't participate in a dating service if I had to pay for it.
This is just my personal opinion, though, and I am taking into consideration the fact that I may not be fully informed right now. I'd like to be a part of something like this, but I'm just not in a position right now if it's going to be a service you have to pay for.

Thank you all for the feedback. I feel the desire in my heart to start this project rather soon. Probably by mid-summer. Its not a tiny project after all. The software I have in mind is clean, fast, stable, simple.

Well according to me ... i feel that God can have His way anytime and anywhere. What i've normally seen is chats and such stuff starts well but u do have nasty people coming up later and wud u be able to stop all of what they would do??? If yes it is a fine idea.

Is going to be cool but one thing is that those that can will and some will use it as a means of scaming, while some will be someone ealse's creadit card to pay..... what am basically trying to say is you have to be ready to fight the scarmers in your site......

I think a christian dating site would be wonderful if you can be for christians only no scammers. I have ran across a lot of scammers and married people on dating sites. I for one would like to see a site for christians only. Right now I do not have any extra money but will have in the near future when I get my business off its feet.
