Desperately seeking Baptist soulmate

I am also a Baptist. However, I do not believe that Baptist is the one and only way that everyone is to choose and that it is the only right denomination. Baptist is just the denomination I was raised up to believe, and do believe.

Obviously, choosing a denomination could start a gigantic argument, that's why this site is a non-denominational site.

Good luck in your search sister

God Bless

Well said brother Michael. I really appreciate your humble response. This is the right heart to have towards the body in general, without juding other denominations with religious pride like some here expressed foolishly.

GOD bless you brother

If you are whatever you are and believe in it then you should marry someone of like faith or you will have problems between each other and with your children. If you don't believe in what you say you believe in then I guess it doesn't really matter.

The term non-denominational is somewhat silly. A 1,5,10,20 etc is a denomination of money. If you aren't a denomination of the Church then I reckon you are a cult. Even if you are truly one church on its own you are a denomination of the Church or not in the Church at all.

Taking a name of evene Grace Community Fellowship is denominating yourself. In the end, if you look at doctrinal statements or statements of faith you are at the core a Baptist, Presby, or something. There is nothing new under the sun.

Doctrine is extremely important and doctrine can be judged whether you call yourself by an old or new denominational name or try to deny you are a denomination. Seeking to have right doctrine is not a thing of pride but of responsibility to God and His Word.

I guess that makes me foolish..
Mark 13:13
"You will be hated by all because of My name, but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.

Call me whatever.but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.

I'm very much aware

...that you guys want to prove a point or two...and that's ok. But the thing is I have placed this thread in here because I'm just looking for someone to Love, preferably God-sent.

So I hope you give the Lady(meaning me) a break...I was hoping for a response from someone interested...not exactly an arguement:unlove:.

Besides if we fight in here we are actually allowing the cursed one to enjoy this:thumbs_do. Instead let's just let it go and shout..GET THEE BEHIND US S_T_N!

I'm sorry for the arguments, sister. Everyone has a different opinion on this subject. There are some people that will only marry within their denomination because they don't want confusion in their marriage and family. I've heard a lot of stories about how different denominations can split up people.

Then there are some people that just look for someone that is Born Again. The biggest thing you need to do is get to know someone and see if they have the fruits of someone that is really Born Again. Maybe you're not real strong on doctrine. It's your decision, sister. Pray about it and be patient. God will lead you the right way every time.

God Bless you:love:

Sister, do yourself a favor and ignore those in this thread that caused you confusion with their religious pride and self understanding. Mavmin is the notable one here who preached something without backing it up with Scripture. If isn't Scriptural, it is of man's own understanding or traditional beliefs. Ignore those kind for your peace of mind and let ONLY GOD guide you into understanding and guide you to the right godly man. GOD shows no partiality and does not operate on man's expectations. No where in the Word does it say anything about marrying "within your own tribe" or such. It does say do not be unequally yoked. That is with unbelievers. Has nothing to do with denominations whatsoever.

James 3:16-18

16For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
17But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
18And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

2 Corinthians 6:14

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

I think it is insulting to say non-denominational is somewhat silly, this was un expected and disrespectful respond and plus why bothering coming here when this forum is a non-denominational online church and plus I think no one should really judge on people denomination or congregation, if you have any reason in scriptures or why makes it a cult church or whatever. But anyways, L_theBaptist I agree what Chad but don’t stress yourself out ok. Just stay positive and stay fresh and peace..

I agree with Chad sister, dont worry about anything. I'm sorry your thread turned out into an argument.

God is good, He's in control.

That rumor about different denomination causing conflict in many marriages, is false most Christian Marriages dont end because of religious differences.I'm sure they dated for some years and knew each others belief system before the big day. Thats why we should never rush into any relationship.
We all have our preferences, but we should never use the bible or false statistics to justify our reason of choice, as Mav did

Six Factors That Destroy Marriages
Following are the six primary factors that destroy marriages. They are commonly found in natural, human relationships:

1 Couples fail to anticipate differences resulting from diverse cultural backgrounds, differing family experiences, gender, and so on.

2 Couples buy into the notion of a “fifty-fifty” relationship, meaning they honestly expect their spouses to meet them halfway.

3 Society has taught us that mankind is basically good. Therefore, couples fail to anticipate their self-centered natures that demand their own way.

4 Couples fail to cope with life’s trials. When painful trials come into the marriage, instead of standing together through them, couples tend to blame each other or think something is wrong with the spouse and the way they handle the pain.

5 Many people have a fantasy view of love. They quickly feel stuck with an unloving person and become deceived into believing that the next one will be better.

6 Many people lack a vital relationship with Jesus Christ. It could be that they have never come to a specific point in time when they asked Christ into their lives and therefore He has no impact on the marriage relationship.
