Greetings,
Perhaps look at the topic from a different angle? You have asked a sensible question.
there is always a problem we can run into when thinking about anything or for that matter, anybody. That is, we can look for reasons for how we think based on our understanding. Now, that might seem OK, at first, but we all run into the same problem, no matter what the 'subject' is, when we begin to rely upon our understanding and the reasoning that we take on in support of that, no matter if we are for something or against it or somewhere in between.
Always best to bounce back off Scripture and if need be, take a re-think. It is what being transformed by the renewing of our minds looks like. You see, when we begin leaning upon our ideas or negotiations about a matter in our thoughts and build up our understanding of what we consider to be the 'fact of the matter' [again ,whatever the subject is- it doesn't have to be video games] we cease to both hear and to listen to anything the Lord would have us to know from Him about it all, and we also can make a fortress in our minds, not only for what we think [and then we can go on to believing it] but also a fortress against truth.
For that reason i ask you to quietly, before God, consider these few verses of Scripture.....
My son, do not forget my teaching,
but let your heart keep my commandments;
for they will add length to your days,
years and peace to your life.
Never let loving devotion or faithfulness leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will find favor and high regard
in the sight of God and man.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will make your paths straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD and turn away from evil.
Proverbs 3:-7
Those who trust their own insight are foolish, but anyone who walks in wisdom is safe.
Proverbs 28:6
Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:1-2
Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Philippians 4:4-8
to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen.
Romans 16:27

Greetings,
Call it whatever you like, are video games the devil, is it a sin, are video games demonic. They all mean the same thing, at least in my eyes. The point I’m trying to make is why do some people consider certain video games the devil? Now I haven’t seen anything like that here, however I’ve seen it in other communities. I don’t understand why some people would consider it though, I want to know how you think on this topic. Please do not confuse this as an attack, I’m not here to purposely offend anyone. I just have a simple question.
I’ll have an example for you, Doom. A game that goes back a good amount of years, created by a company called Bethesda. But that doesn’t matter, for the most part, it’s a game about killing demons. You, the player, are trying to survive an onslaught of demons that show no mercy. Would that be considered demonic because of demons? Or, if you look at it this way, should one like it because you kill demons that have been known for pure evil?
