Do you hear the spirit's / God's / Jesus's voice?

I'm curious because in the last 2 years I think I've heard him once or twice.

If you heard, what did he say, how did it sound, how many times?

Personally I think so.

I thought I heard, 'You are blessed', 'I will open the gates for you', 'I will give it to you (I think this was in reference to a desire for a child)' (in that order)

Which made me really happy on all occasions. The first time I was freaked out.

Then again before I thought I heard the odd voice through my life. You know like if you imagine your friend saying you name... you think they were there.

Don't we all think we hear something every now and then through our life?

I LOVE MY GOD though. Voice or not but I pray for his voice.

It sounded soft, quite but with authority. I got a scene of ultimate truth from it.

My wife says she used to get visions and that God lets her know things. I believe her because I know how truthful she is (though she amazed me with my surprise party a few days ago, need to keep my eye on that one :)

While I am quite certain God spoke to me out loud one time (and then it was a single Word that answered all I was dealing with then) He speaks to me continually in my inner man.

most of what I am presently involved in was brought about by the leading of the Holy Spirit (including what I am doing for work and ministry and where I live).

Personally when I experienced something like this, I thought it to be God speaking to me audibly, but when I examined it later it was just Jesus speaking to me through the Holy Spirit. Personally I believe God will only speak to us through feelings the Holy Spirit, unless it is something very important that will effect many others' lives for the greater cause of salvation or the likes.

His Voice

I agree with Tyler!Yes,Ive definitely heard Jesus, and the Holy Spirit!Theres an unction,a leading,a knowing or a word,in your spirit from the Holy Spirit. But to me Jesus speaks sometimes softly or louder when I need it.He speaks wisdom, love,or sometimes even makes me laugh!Jesus has a sense of humor!Thats why its not religion, its relationship! He loves to walk, talk, dance, sing, and make us laugh too!He also lets us know when we need to reverence him,or apologize to someone, sometimes when its even their fault, but he teaches us to swallow our pride and humble ourselves!Seek Him and he will speak to you more and clearer too!Its all a process! He loves us so,and wishes to talk with us!Again,RELATIONSHIP,not religion!GBUand rest in Him my friend!

I have never heard him speak to me directly. But, I get dreams. I get dreams of what my life will look like. One of the most vivid one was my wedding. Where, I could only see my family. And everything was blurry. Like i could see the outline of everything..my husband, his family. My dress, my ring. The Pastor and the church.

I took that as a way of God telling me that there is someone out there for me.

It was an interesting thing enough, since I had been fussing over that very topic the day before.

God works in amazing ways.

Let me tell you about what happened to me. I was dealing with a high Jehovah's Un-Witness and we were discussing scriptures about (of course) the deity of Christ. He was a clever man and we spent hours going over the subject neither really coming out on top. I went to bed that night thinking about this; it was the middle of the night and I was sound asleep when I heard a Word spoken so loudly that it woke me up completely and fully. I heard the Word Isaiah spoken in a really powerful (not shouting but strong) voice went to my Bible and opened it up to the verse that clarified the entire discussion.
Was it audible- As far as I can tell yes. Has this ever happened again- not yet but we will see.

Actually, typical, head a demon inside me speak, horrible, see my testimony on that.

But suppose then, just talking audio, no.

Anyway, so didn't vote, sorry.
Fear is not from God, never let the enemy hinder your walk. As far as demonic voices do not receive them and in fact tell them to go.

Joh 10:4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
Joh 10:5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

You will know when God is speaking.

One particularly time I remember when god spoke to me was at my church's retreat 2 years ago. I was thinking about all of the sins I've committed and I wept. However, after weeping for some time and asking god for help, I rememeber he told me. "Do not weep, my child. Instead, rejoice for your sins are forgiven!" I remember I praised god so much that night, I danced and sang praises to him, without a single fear of anything in life and without shame. If any non-believers saw me, I bet I would have looked like such a lunatic because I was just jumping everywhere and signing praises. When God talks to you, and you can hear, its the most amazing experience ever.
"He who has an ear, let him hear"

What was the word?

Acts 2
16No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17" 'In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
and they will prophesy.
19I will show wonders in the heaven above
and signs on the earth below,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
21And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved.'

So good to hear all your experiences. I thought I was going out of my mind for little while.

What was the word?

The Word was "Isaiah". I then opened my bible to this verse:

Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

I know of a person who says he hears God. But when I told him that the book the purpose driven life did not share the gospel, no conviction required, no repentance required, no holiness of Gods wrath, etc etc. he negated my opinion as wrong and as my opinion not based on truth.
Because it flew in the face of his belief that people are good in their innate nature. This allows him to minister to them so that they feel accepted by him, he becomes their savior(cult), and do not need the parts I mentioned above to know God to have a purpose driven life.

Can we hear God, by the Spirit of God yes.
If you did hear God I think you would keep it as a solemn moment between you and him not to exercise it as an guideline for you to overthrow everyone's else opinions which I saw done every time from people who said they audibly heard God.
Without the Spirit of God there were others who orchestrated their authority on matters like these famous names like
JIM JONES, DAVID KORESH and many others.
By their fruit Ye shall know them!

XV2000 experience sound real to me!!!!!!!!!
As well as everyone else!

I've not heard God audibly, with my ears, but I do hear Him speaking in my heart. Quite a bit, especially in the past year and a half, since I have worked hard at developing a closer relationship with him. And once, in college, I am quite sure that I heard God laughing.

Sorry, I could be wrong but I think your saying if I did hear God I wouldn't talk about it here.

I think... I'm not very good with English.

I think I open it here in public because we're brother and sisters. What God says to me isn't that important to others as what it is to me and I know that. I share my experience because I haven't experienced this sort of thing before and was thinking I was going a bit mad. I couldn't talk to others about it face to face but can here without caring I look a fool.

I found it gave me more faith.

You see we say we have faith and we believe as I have in the past but my experiences with the Lord has given me new found faith. To the point where I literally not only believe in Jesus but also believe in Noah's Ark which whist I believed in the past some things just didn't add up. But I'm finding myself now in a position where everything in possible. It's OK to say that if you believe that Jesus walked on water then you can believe everything else in the Bible. However I think we all need spiritual experiences to push us into a deeper relationship with Christ. I think sharing experiences can help those to understand and find comfort from them. God, Jesus is real to me and I pray you all see wonders beyond you imaginations.

Before I was baptized I really paryed for the gift of profercy however nothing seemed to come about. Although I'm not sure... I felt myself being obedient last week to pass on scripture to someone in the Church I didn't really know. Was told the scripture in my head, was told the passage reference and even when I said 'No' it was just chance... I was told his name. I said No I'll look a fool if that's not his name but then the paster said his name whist preaching. I had to pass it on even though it seemed wrong because the scripture could have been damaging but the message gave him Joy (I believe).

Right now I'm going to start praying for boldness to expand the kingdom.

I wish we could all sit round a table and talk all night about our amazing God and the things he's done in our life's. What Joy :)

God is true

Praise God. We will around the dinner table where the Lord will bless us.
I was not downing anyone’s belief, because I wrote everyone, who at that point posted, a private letter saying I believe them, on hearing God. But as You would agree because I know your on this planet too a lot of people I know and we know claimed to hear God thus making them the oracle or standard to how others in their faith should be. Jesus heard his Fathers voice as a human. In which the Word of God tells us so. Paul heard Jesus on the road to Damascus we do not doubt his experience. And we ought not to discount the experiences today. But lets hold up these experiences to the word of God. Like in what I first wrote to what you questioned. I now know of another guy who says he heard God. I did not knock him. I gave him my support. But when I confronted him that the book ”The Purpose Driven Life” does not share the gospel he refuted me, he said he read the book, and that its just my opinion. To downplay me because I held it up to the WORD OF GOD! He wants to be the authority. Well if we hold that book up to the word of God. The word of God says repent, it says sin, it says the wrath of God, it says conviction, it says mercy, it says grace, it say Jesus dying for sin. But the book that is in doubt did not express any of these in reference to knowing God in a personal relationship. This person who said he hears God see the innate nature of man being good, So A lot of people preach fantasy in their relationship to God, we would have to question this persons faith because a lot of people claim hearing God but never entered into a relationship with God. Gods terms in knowing him personally through the cross of Jesus.

I hear you lord

yes the lord has spoke to me in my dreams and when I am awake
and I do hear the holy spirit guide and direct me in the way I should go , it is really awesome , I really get excited , :singing::singing:and I just have to thank ,praise the lord.:groupwave:

I hear God as a quiet, still voice in my head. It's a man's voice that is very gentle--I wonder if it is Jesus.
