Thanks for your thoughts!

[F]I just wanted to thank you both, SpiritLed and Bill. Bill you gave me words that I needed to hear and that I will remember when I feel unsure and SpiritLed you gave me some direction, I will look for the book you mention which will be easy for me to do because I am currently at the Library. Again thank you and God Bless..[/FONT]

I don't think we can ever do enough but if we do all we can we are still unprofitable servants for we have only done what it was our duty to do.

Luke 17:10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do. KJV

I think the question should be, "Do you do what God wants you to do".
We can do many things, too much or too little, it doesn't matter, what is important is do we do what God called us to do.
If we do what God called us to do then we do enough.

Blessings!

The wording of the poll is misleading. It implies that our works have power to bring God's favor, that there is a baseline performance level we must strive for to gain the Father's love, which is contrary to the truth of Scripture.

Consider the Prodigal Son of Luke 15. He had "blown it" literally and spent years in sinful living, yet his father not only allowed him to return, he welcomed him back with a major celebration."For it is by grace you are saved through faith. - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God so no man can boast." (Eph 2:8-9)

SLE

Very good post SLE, but to fully understand what you are saying you have to mature some in the Spirit. A very good book on this subject is "Unto Full Stature" by Deverne Fromke. There are three basic levels of growth. The first level is where you are born again and about all the Lord can do for you. The second level is about what you can do for the Lord and the third level is about becoming what the Lord wants you to become.

I said, "yes", not because I'm proud of myself, and not because I couldn't do better. But I do live daily for Jesus Christ and I do try to listen to Him and take opportunities to tell others about Him.

I said yes too, for pretty much the same reasons.

'well done good and faithful servant' is about doing everything that the Master has asked you to do and i think this will be revealed at the judgement seat of Christ. Christ will ask, "How many times have you done what I have asked you to do and how many times have you not? May we always be led by the promptings of the Holy Spirit and do what our Master whispers into our ears.

God hates pride. Lucifer fell because he was so proud of himself.

Warning of the pre-trib "bail out"!

I only wish I could do more to expose the FALSE DOCTRINE of pre-trib rapture.

Christ shall return exactly as He said He would.

I encourage people to investigate the origin of the modern day "new doctrine" of pre-trib bail out rapture as to whether it is Scriptual or not.

I don't think so...

What can I say? There is so much I see that is yet to be done, within myself and within many others I am given to assist.

I do not think that I am doing enough because of the imperfections that I still harbor, the mistakes I still make, my temptations, hesitations, distractions...you know, as the scriptures say, the pleasures and worries of the world keep me from bearing the full and good fruit, that is made possible through God's grace for me to accomplish...

But I press forward, in hopes, and faith that one day I will not be deceived, I will have the faith that pleases God, I will as a follower and with the mind of Christ, do the works of Christ, so the day may be that our Father in Heaven, can say to me, "Well Done."

Misread the question.......Post deleted. Sorry.

did you intend this to be a trick question?
because all the folks who were thrown in hell had listed to him all their deeds..
the ones who were saved could list none!

when I was young I had a like daydream while watching a tv program about feeding the children. we were so broke we barely eat ourselves .. we were paying doctor bills because we had just had a baby.
the dream was
I was standing in a long line.. and each person one by one stood before the Lord,
as I stood there panicking getting more and more afraid and trying with everything I had to find anything I had done for HIM , I couldn't think of one thing, not one thing.

then my turn came and he didn't even ask it..
he said "and you" with a silly smile !
I then just blurted out
"I didn't do anything"
he looked funny and said "what" ?
and I said I didnt' do anything for you"
he said "oh". then I blurted out .
"I hope I can say you did it all and I didn't do anything"
He gave me a huge smile and we hugged and he talked in my ear which I didn't hear and or remember.

so personally I think this is a trick question as I truly doubt that is going to be His measuring stick.
but yes maybe it comes up in heaven at the last judgement because 'spiritual deeds" of GOOD was the measure stick of the religious who it seems were trying to earn their way into heaven or something like that.
Instead of those who like kids just want to do what daddy is doing.
and of course daddy did it!
you know Jesus himself says " I only do what I see my father doing"
I think that is our clue as to what he expects us to do also.
as the father presents opportunities, opportunities he is taking advantage of. if I see it. if I see him in it ,I want to get involved because He is going to be there.

This reminds me of the time I was sitting at home as a new mother, looking in my bookcase, as to what exiciting mystery I might like to read next. A surprising question came to my mind, "What if I meet God one day, and He says to me, "You have read very many educational, and entertaining books in your life, but did you read My book?" I thought "Oh no, I am baptized, and confirmed, I know the beatitudes, some of the Bible stories, and miracles of our Lord and His disciples, the 23rd Psalm, and the Nicine Creed, but I can not honestly say that I have ever "Read" the Bible."

I hurriedly picked up my Bible, and did not make it long through the book of Genesis. It then came to me to begin my quest with reading the new testament. And soon my life was changed forever. For all that I read, I had never before perceived.

This post reflects my sentiments exactly. Nothing would I change but the name.

Praying to be one of the sheep at His right hand!

Without a doubt I don't believe that I am doing enough. In fact, I've looked back over the past few months and regretfully I can say that I don't believe I have done anything at all to help spread the Gospel.

Doing......enough..... for.......whom?

Recently I found some new ways to share Christ, and renewed an older way I sorta gave up on for a while. I question who are we competing against or why compare myself with anyone else. Who sets the scale as to what is enough for me?

What I do today might be enough for the next day. I ponder over am I being faithful to the Master, Jesus Christ. Am I in the WORD long enough to know what to do myself and grow more in love with Jesus Christ.

Recently I was reading about a believer that made it a point to theel the Holy Father they loved Him. The same held true for Jesus Christ and yes the Holy Spirit. That awakened my soul to something I had really never given much thought to. For me I felt so inaddequate, that I had never given thought to saying I LOVE YOU to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Now that I have given this much thought to saying I love you to the LORD, it seems so basic How could I have missed this for 54 years?

The Lord has been so patient with me and in my 66 years. He has shown me mercy, grace, peace, discipline, and love and I say the LORD is the only one who has done ENOUGH.

There seems to be a common idea running through most of the posts in this thread that somehow God may not love us unless we do this or that. Yet God will always love us, that is the nature of God. He will say well done good and faithful servent for that is what we are.
So please rest assured that God has always and will always love us. There is nothing you can do to stop the flow of this love. Sure there may be more we can do in seeking our own spiritual evolvement. We can always be more loving but that will not in any way stop GOd from loving us.

I get more of the feeling that most folks here don't feel they are doing enough in spreading the Gospel, which is totally different than God not loving them. Most if not all will tell you that even though they might not be doing enough, they also realize that the love that God has for them is not based on any actions on their part. Most if all would back that up with John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Put John 15:13 "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." and you not only have the Love but friendship! Wow! Awesome!

So, if some feel they just aren't doing enough which is the question, it would be understandable. I just won't go so far as to say they're not feeling the love.

I do like Psalm 25

Thank you Christ4ever, I agree. God's love is always with us. I pray that we may be more cognizant of that fact, especially when we find ourselves frustrated with the actions of others...they too remain in the love of God.

Nowhere near enough

Peace be unto you,

I answered, "No", because as long as there are people out there that have not heard the truth, or haven't accepted it, I need to continuing doing what I can to help as many as I can—knowing what their reward is going to be.

Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
