pixie: Could God allow Satan to be in us. I think he was in Job and Simon Peter, wasn't he? I know that he is not omnipotent, but God could allow him to know our thoughts, for God's purpose, couldn't He. Just like with Job. Is there any scripture that says that satan could never know our thoughts. I have had some pretty demonic thoughts sometimes and I just don't believe that they come from me. Does anyone have any info on this? Can people become posessed by satan, if God so chooses? Thanks

Many of us wear our hearts on our sleeves. Even for people that don't talk much, I'm sure that Satan can observe them for a few hours/days and get a real good handle on what it is that they are thinking about.
If you could spiritually follow someone around, how long do you think it would take you to figure out what they are all about?
To answer the question, Can Satan read our thoughts, I'd have to say, yes. Even though I don't actually see the scripture that plainly states those words, I believe that it should be deduced from the scripture given.
I have thoughts sometimes too—don't know if they compare to your own—but when they occur ( and sometimes it's often ) I call on the Lord before they have time to take root. I don't know where you stand with God, but the struggle against my own flesh, sin, is an every day fight for me. It has been for some time now, and I don't expect that it will ever completely go away as long as I am in this body. Keep fighting, eventually it does become easier—or, maybe, you just get used to it. Either way, pray continually, and search the scriptures; God likes for us to want to spend time with Him.
Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
I'll do what I can to help.
sunshine307: I'm sorry jiggyfly but I don't understand what you are trying to say when the question asked was "can a Christian be possessed by satan." That is the question I answered. The disciples who walked with Jesus weren't actually Christians as no-one could become a Christian until after Jesus death and resurrection, so therefore the Holy Spirit couldn't be in them.
I'm not following anyones theory - simply stating the Word of God.
