Don’t Judge Anyone Not Even Yourself Before the Lord Comes.

I'm a student of Christ and not a teacher.

God gives us freedom of choice. :thumbs_up

If you Judge

And I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him. Deut 1:16

Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy. Proverbs 31:9

And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the Lord, who is with you in the judgment. 2 Chron 19:6

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. John 7:24

I've been reading 1 Corinthians lately and came upon these verses:

What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are we not to judge those inside? 1 Corinthians 5:3

Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! 1 Corinthians 6:3

We need to be careful never to judge any person's heart. Only God can see the heart! But sometimes we do need to make judgements about actions. If someone is clearly doing something wrong and they don't realise it, it can get them into trouble. We can graciously help them to get back on track. (Galatians 6:1; 1 Corinthians 5:12;)

Remember brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death...James 5:19-20

Also we do have to be discerning and make judgements about Spiritual matters!!!

Now the Bereans were more noble minded...for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the scriptures everyday to see if what Paul said was true. Acts 17:11

The Spiritual man makes judgements about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment. 1 Corinthians 2:15

Two or three prophets should speak and the others should weigh carefully what is being said. 1 Corinthians 14:29

and one of my favourite scripture:
Examine yourselves to see if you are in the faith; test youselves. Do you not realise that Christ is in you unless indeed you fail the test? 2 Corinthians 13:5-6

I agree with lordsria: Fear the Lord and be humble. Micah 6:8

Thanks!

Thank You for adding to this thread, brother, Bob!

Dear brothers and sisters,

God warns us of this incredible act of judging throughout scripture. He knows that judging against each other can fester into other acts of sin. Perhaps one the most sensitive areas of judging is when we are in unity as the body of Christ.

If there is a disagreement with the sermon, the behavior of another Christian who's intentions are good for the church, or a confession of another seeking forgiveness, we can even be judgemental without realizing it!

Please remember how much God wants us to be in dwelling of Him in everything we do. Be in constant focus of Jesus and read the scriptures above. At night time before getting our rest go into a time of repentence again and seek His forgiveness for anyone that we may have judged or formed a negative opinion of.

When our hearts are pure toward one another it is easier to work together if we have a disagreement or need to reconcile.

God loves us and wants to mold and refine us into the persons we already are so we can be better witnesses within our church family and out in the community.

Your brother in Christ Jesus.

Recently I was at a bible study taht this scripture came up. IF I remember correctly, it is something that was quite a debate. One person stated that we are going to judge the peole of this time and the Angels as well. It was fought with the verses following 1 Cor 6:3.

5I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? 6But instead, one brother goes to law against another—and this in front of unbelievers!
7The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? 8Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers.
1 Cor 6:4-7

In this life, we are not wise enough to judge anyone. There will be a time that we will be wise, but at present we do not have enough knowledge to judge the heart of others. We can see someone doing wrong, but in their heart we cannot decpher whether the intention of the wrong came from God or from the other side. We can chat with them and ask their motives and gently reply with the Word of God, but even in the midst of our converstaion with the other person we are using our earthly knowledge and wisdom to judge the the actions and intentions of the other person. If the actions they are doing is in fact a complete opposite fo what lies in their heart as to what they believe they are doing, perhaps even though the action in our eyes seems wrong, can in fact be the right thing to do. An example, kinda earthly, but an example, would be Robin Hood. If we are the rich and Robin Hood robs from us, we see the evil he is doing and try to condemn him for it. If we expand our vision just a bit, we would see that he is robbing us so that someone in true need recieves God's glory through him. If we judge him as a low life thief, perhaps we are looking in a mirror because we are not keeping our promise to God in helping the poor. This is God's way of showing his glory to the person who receives the blessing in the end. We really do not have the capability to see the whole story if our mind is narrowed by the fact that "Robin Hood" is a no good thief.
