Favorite Christian Novel?

fav books

These books are not really novels. They are true life stories.

1)Hope in the Belfast City.
2)Is that really you God? - Loren Cunningham

The first one is about a police officer who tackles many obstacles in his faith in Jesus while working in Belfast. The second is actually a teaching book for "Guidance" which is described by the authors Life experience and his vision. Must have heard about YWAM. Thats what Loren started.

These books are really great.

4) Glenbrooke Series

I have been reading an autobiography called Nobody's Child. It is by John Robinson. It is an amazing testimony about John's life. He was an orphan and was ill treated in numerous foster homes. He ended up in and out of jail. Eventually he finds God in a powerful way and it changes his life for ever. He starts up a street mission out of his heart for the lost and the youth who experience similar hardships as he went through. John lives in England (Yorkshire industrial area I think but dont quote me). He is happily married and has two young girls. I think that he and his wife are ministers now.

I know you can't really consider The Chronicles of Narnia to be a novel, but they're my favorite series of Christian books. ^_^

I recently read 'First Light' by Bodie & Brock Thoene and loved it. I haven't been much of a reader lately but that book got me reading again.

I'm such a bookworm...

I am another Frank Peretti fan, and his newest novel, MONSTER is just awesome. It deals with what seems to be fiction, but what turns out to be all too real... Another best seller by the master. Also, for a teen series, the Veritas Project, which has only two books in it so far, is very good and deals with things that we as teens deal with every day. One has even been made into a movie, so you know it has to be good!

well, I'm a big schmuck for romantic novels.. :embarasse
I loved The Princess written by Lori Wick - it's my favourite, I read it at least once a year!!

Mere Christianity by CS Lewis
The Imitation of Christ by Thomas a Kempis
Rees Howells Intercessor by Norman Grubb
Not novels per se but excellent books about Christianity, Christ and prayer!!

I would have to say Lord Of The Rings :)

Many will maybe object if this qualifies as a christian book though.
Tolkien was a good friend of C.S. Lewis. I read that he and Lewis talked about how one would aproach making fictional stories using christian belief and values. The Results was Narnia and Lord Of The Ring. Narnia is ofcourse much more obvious.

LOTR has the obvious battle against good and evil. How even the most insignifcant person can be used for great works for good. Corruption of evil and how Light defeat darkness.

I am currently reading The Screwtape Letter by C.S.Lewis

Well, some of my favorite books are the left behind Series. I also just finished a book titled The Journey of Desire by John Eldredge. A really good book that makes you think of why you believe what you believe and why. Currently reading How to be a Canadian * by Will and Ian Ferguson
*even if you already are one

Actually these are series not 1 book

"NewPointe 911" by Terri Blackstock (5 books)
&
"Mark of the Lion" by Francine Rivers (3 books)

I quite like any novels written by George MacDonald, primarily his book, "At the Back of the North Wind". Gorgeous book.

christian books

OK. First off... anything by Bob Larson, I highly suggest. It may seem like his choice of topic is heavy, and even frightening to some, but this man is a christian author who right about the world, the people in it, Satan in those people, and Christians being able to work in peoples lives. He talks alot about possesion, demon, cults, satanism, altar personalities, triggers, and alot "untouched" subject such as these, but his message is one that desperatly needs to be heard for christians to be able to triumph in their every day lives. I first discovered his writing when my friend became a satanist, I was just looking to see what i could do to show my friend God, and my pastor handed me one of Bob's books, ever since I have been in love with his way of making spiritual warfare into something that becomes visible in every day. If you ever get a chance, you must read his books!
Top 4 books by Bob"
"Satanism; The seduction of America's youth"
"In The Name of Satan"
"Dead Air"
"Abaddon" (sequel to dead air)

Favorite Christian Novels

Without a doubt, the Left Behind Series. I have made it through the 5th book, and they just have a way of drawing you in...I can't put it down once I get going. I have to admit, I don't read as much as I should, but thanks for all the other suggestions, I will be looking into a few of the books everyone suggested.
