I dont feel that God has a "Soul Warehouse",but l wonder about the, handing out of souls, for best term,to flesh bodies.
I ask myself this question,If my parents never met, would this soul i possess,be housed in anothe person(body) all together. The soul came from God,so he knew it from before your birth.
But couldnt my soul jave been just as easily placed in another body in another time or place?

The soul/body division is a Greek philosophy idea, not a biblical one. In Hebrew thought, the word translated "soul" (nephesh) just means a living being. It's not some that dwells in a living body, it is a living body.

I haven't much time now to go into detail, but you might check out the use of "nephesh" in the Bible. It was a big revelation to me when I saw it for the first time.

'And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became a living soul.'

Hello @lentz,

This does not require deep thought, just the will to believe what God has said. The soul is the whole person, for when God breathed into man's nostrils the breath of life (or spirit), man became a living soul.'

Thank you

WRONG again.
God does not dish out souls.
An animal and a human being are living souls.
You are a soul by a live birth.
And yet in part it is spirit as scripture states -
Prov 20:27 The spirit of man is the lamp of the LORD, searching all his innermost parts.
Job 32:8 But it is the spirit in man, the breath of the Almighty, that makes him understand.
A soul is not just a living organic body but our life and consciousness.
In the image of God we are created so that would entail spirit.

I think you are too shallow a thinker.
Animals breathe but dont have souls. Its the soul that makes the person not the body.
Im looking at,if my parents never met. And this body was never born, would i,my soul, have been placed in another body?

Hi @lentz

If you check in a Hebrew/English interlinear Bible

Genesis 1:20-21, Genesis 2:7 and Deuteronomy 6:5

The same Hebrew word "nephesh" is translated "soul" and "living creature". "Soul" is an unfortunate translation because it comes with a whole load of Greek philosophy baggage about an immaterial essence inhabiting a physical body.

For the ancient Israelites, it just means "living being" (anything that breathes).

Wrong again. Animals do not have souls
You just love being wrong - and condescending to others.
Animals are souls.

What Is the Difference Between a Soul and a Spirit?

soul is our consciousness or inner being - this would apply to both animals and humans.
Humans have a spiritual awareness as well - a concern for morals and ethics, the spiritual realm, life after death, worship of spirit beings, etc.

For this question you need the one and only biblical definition of "soul", - nephesh, in Gen. 2:7 -

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life (ruach); and man became a living being (nephesh).

Herein a "soul" is the human body activated by the power of the spirit. In essence, body + spirit = soul. A soul is not a disembodied ghost as most people think, it's the combination of body and spirit. Therefore, the answer to your question is NO. If your spirit is breathed into another body in another time or place, then that's not you anymore. Jesus was born of the Holy Spirit, but he was also conceived by Mary and Joseph through two particular messianic bloodlines (Matt. 1 and Luke 3), both stemmed from king David, and he was born at a particular time (15th year of Tiberius Caesar) in a particular place (Bethlehem), those cannot be easiliy replaced, otherwise he wouldn't be the messiah.

Animals do not have immortal souls. Once thry die they're done. Humans have a soul that will never die and will spend eternity some where.
Please dont insult me by saying animals go to heaven. That is pure nonsense.
Also, there will be no women in heaven either.

What are you babbling about?
No one claimed that animals have an immortal soul or go to heaven.
You do not have an immortal soul either.
Learn from scripture.

You were the one babbling animals and people are both souls. Keep up.
If i dont have an immortal soul,i have nothing to fear right?

The body is just an object that houses the soul.
In the op,i only asked could a person,or soul,(however you see it),have been placed in another body(house),if the original parents never gave birth.
Another way to put it....was that soul going to be born,or placed in an earthly body no matter what?

Again, the idea of an immaterial essence of a person inhabiting a physical body comes from Greek Philosophy (Plato). It's not a biblical concept at all.

The Bible word translated "soul" just means a living, breathing creature.

Greetings @Waggles ,

Animals are souls.

can you please tell me where I can find reference to this in Scripture?

Bless you ....><>

ps... please try a little harder to communicate with others with kindness and less insulting talk.
