Friendship with GOD:
1. Faith
2. Obedience
3. Belief in Jesus Christ
4. Prayer (Communication)
5. LOVE!
Somewhat similiar to having a friendship with a friend, but the extra is accepting Jesus Christ as Savior to reach to the Father in Heaven in prayer/communication. The greater part of a friendship with GOD compared to any human is that GOD's love is unconditional, He will always forgive us and He knows us (His "friend") better than anyone else knows.
Deuteronomy 4:31
For the LORD your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your forefathers, which he confirmed to them by oath.
Daniel 9:9
The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him;

Jesus said "You are my friends if you do whatever I command you." John 15:14.

"Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himsellf an enemy of God." James 4:4
So we must reject the world and what it offers and follow Jesus completely.

Jesus is my best friend. When he gave his life it was a part of a plan. All his is mine. My best friend is allways there beside me. Always.

To have a friendship with any one is to know each other. God knows you, even to the number of hairs upon your head. To know Him is to talk to Him through prayer, hear Him through His word (spending time in the Bible).
Did you know if you let Him, He will guide you to what He has for you, or wants you to know, if you have faith and let Him guide you through the scriptures?
I have tried many daily books, but none of these written by man, can take the place of allowing God lead me each day for what He has for me that day. Books can be an addition; but for me not in place of.
