In John's account of Jesus feeding the 5000 it's interesting to see how the Holy Spirit later refers to the location where the miracle took place. In John 6:23 "the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks". The emphasis is not on the miracle itself but on the giving thanks.
Paul's verse above gives the same emphasis of what a big part of our prayers should look like ... giving thanks!
