God is not done with Israel

Thanks I would add or offer.
A promise as a covenant. A promise by himself to himself. Faith as the power of God to the same faith. Christ the author and finisher of our new faith.. not depending on seeds flesh of Abraham . . what the eyes see the temporal

Galatians 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Hebrews 6:13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

Not a covenant because of the flesh of Abraham. it has no power to offer.

I would think what some call the covenant of Abraham is an extension of the promise spoken of in the garden Genesis 3:15. . the father striking the Son of man bruising his heel crushing the head of the serpent. It was again prophesied in Isaiah 53 establishing the government of peace that had become corrupted.

The promised demonstration began In the garden of Gethsemane the beginning of the promised three days and nights promised demonstration . . . . the father not seen working with the Son of man Jesus seen.

The father putting to sleep the apostles three times. . . Jesus suffering unto death desired they wake up again and again looking for strength . . the father continuing to refuse. . Again establishing the promise of two prophecies of two working as one. .Then they moved on to the second part of that demonstration the hill the bloody demonstration the cross. And finally the Tomb.. The demonstration of faith.

It would seem that covenants are made into what some call "dispensations" (time periods) making what they call Abrahamic promise first.

.I would think the gospel is the covenant of covenants . God works in us by a labor of His love or work of faith outside of time. Not subject to time but rather empowered by his faithful Love.
Gen. 3:15 was not technically a conevant, it was a prophecy and an announcement, a salvation plan for the future of humanity, and it was unilateral. Cain, the first natural born human being, was called "a man acquired from God" because he was revered by Eve as the fulfilment of Gen. 3:15, and you can't blame her for thinking in that way if you put your feet in her shoes. A covenant, on the other hand, was bilateral. It's like wedding vows made by BOTH parties. Abraham's faith and resolved was tested by God to see if he could uphold this covenant, and so were his descendents. The difference is RELATIONSHIP.

Jeremiah 31:31 “Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah,
[Note the recognition of two houses or nations here - God is acknowledging the continuing existence and future purpose of "Israel" as distinct from Judah.
Worth also noting that Ezekiel is prophesying this a couple of hundred years after the Assyrian conquest and removal of the northern kingdom of Israel
]
31:32 not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke,
though I was their husband, declares the LORD.
'Behold, the days come, saith the LORD,
that I will make a new covenant
with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers
in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt;
which my covenant they brake,
although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
(Jer 31:31-32)

Hello @Waggles,

Thank you for responding. You quote Jeremiah 31:31-32, and ask that notice is taken of the fact that the house of Israel and the house of Judah are spoken of separately and distinctly, and say that this signifies that God is thereby acknowledging the continuing existence and future purpose of 'Israel' as distinct from Judah'. Yet that cannot be because it is God's purpose that both are united as one nation once more as we can see in Ezekiel, with the illustration of the two sticks in Ezekiel 37:15-28.
Jeremiah 31:33 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts.
And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. - [note that this covenant is not made with the house of Judah ]
31:34 And no longer shall each one teach his neighbour and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD.
For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”
[And this promise comes to fruition on the day of Pentecost when 120 people receive the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues.
This new Covenant is with the house of Israel - the foundation of which is the dispersal of the "lost" 10 tribes of Israel into the nations of Europe.
The first rain was primarily Europe; and our current latter rain is all the nations of the world through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning.
Throughout the world the full gospel of salvation is being preached and Pentecostal revival is occurring even in the most hostile of environments.
These signs shall follow them that believe is still happening and turning people away from false religions to worship the true God of salvation in spirit and in truth. ]
As the old covenant was made with Israel, prior to it's division, so the new covenant will be made with an undivided nation. They will be restored and united as one nation once more. It has yet to be done. The new covenant is in abeyance at present because of the nation's failure to acknowledge the Lord Jesus Christ as their Messiah and King at His first advent.
Matthew 24:14 And this *gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole inhabited earth for a witness unto all the nations; and then shall the end come.
Which gospel??
Mark 16:15 And he said to them, Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to the whole creation.
16 Who hath believed and is baptized shall be saved; but who hath disbelieved shall be condemned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that have believed: in my *name shall they cast out demons, speak with tongues;
18 and in their hands they shall take up serpents, and if they drink aught deadly, it shall in now wise hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
God is not done with Israel until that last person who shall believe and be born from above by water and Spirit comes in - and then God will shut the door.
And it will be as in the days of Noah those outside shall perish.
Matthew 24:22 And except those *days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved: but for the elect’s sake those *days shall be shortened.
'And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
the spirit of grace and of supplications:
and they shall look upon Me Whom they have pierced,
and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourneth for his only son,
and shall be in bitterness for Him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.'
(Zec 12:10)

No, @Waggles, God has not done with that nation, as you say. They will be gloriously saved in one day, when they see the returning Christ, and acknowledge their part in His death, mourn for Him, repent and acknowledge Him as their Saviour and Lord.

' ... ... ... and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.' (Zec 3:9)

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

'And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written,
There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
For this is My covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes:
but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.'
(Rom 11:26-29)

Praise God!

Its something I am still learning.

I am not seeing any difference between a future covenant and and prophecy as a promise

I agree Cain was the first born of those not converted .Abel the second born signified as our second birth. or called the seed (Christ) spiritual not seen. . . power .

The church or bride of Christ is the fulfillment of Genie 3:15 and its companion Isaiah 53.

Isaiah 53.10-11 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Abraham's faith coming from Christ empowered by Christ not seen . . . worked in Abraham to both reveal His will and empowered it to finish the work of the Father. No work of labor of ones' love is attributed to the dying flesh of Abraham (mankind)

That would seem to spell out blasphemy . . giving over the power of the Holy Spirit over to the flesh of mankind. ( the temporal seen)

What we will be in our new incorruptible body is not revealed

Blasphemy against mankind seen is forgivable, blasphemy against the unseen Holy Spirit as God that works in born again mankind is not forgivable.

The two witnesses. . God not seen revealed His will by his finger as it is writen .

At the witness of one, no man can be put to death .(Deuteronomy 17:6)

God provided a witness to the whole world a sufferings church fed by manna ( meaning what is it .? Jesus defined manna . . "not as I will Father but you the one with power to raise mankind from the dead ". . .dying.

John 5:31-33 If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true. Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth
Again eternal God bearing the one witness of God

The same "Let there be" (as it is written ) the mark of His word.

Genesis 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness
