Hi I'm Muslim & want to know about Jesus in Christianity

did god get married and gave birth to jesus???
The blood that carries the life of the flesh does not come from the mother, but from the Father. Jesus was born according to the words (Word of God) of an Angel who spoke to Mary (Jesus's mother)

Luke 1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
Luke 1:29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
Luke 1:30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
Luke 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

Luke 1:34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
Luke 1:36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
Luke 1:38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

All born again believers are born by the Word of God......

1Pe 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

why Jesus is called son of man?
For God to save man, he needed to become a man, and to associate himself with them. Jesus was God in the Flesh, and he was also a man with flesh. God himself operates according to his own rules he set up in Genesis. It was to man God gave "authority" over all the works of his hands that he had made. So, to save man he had to become a man.

Hi ,

I Have heard Jesus in Christianity is different from Islam. What ways is he different?
One of your questions is the 3 in 1 Godhead. An egg has 3 parts; water has 3 parts. One yet separate.
Another is about the difference between these "religions" Jesus said that many who die will say, "Have not we done many good works?" and He will say, I never knew you. Jesus said that there is one way to enter heaven, by believing in Jesus, knowing that we are sinners, and accepting his sacrifice on the cross as the Lamb of God (the Old Testament sacrifice of the lamb of God - perfect - sacrificed on Passover- when Jesus was crucified as the perfect "Lamb of God". Then as prophesied in the Old Testament and he spoke of to his disciples, he arose in three days! Only in Christianity is "religion" not a religion but a relationship.
In the Garden of Eden God walked with man - that was his plan. He fell as he listened to satan. Was are told that before the foundation of the world, a plan was made to save ones from destruction and sin!
What is the difference. Many Muslims cry out to Allah wishing for a loving God. Our God is pure love. Yes there is justice.
C. S. Lewis wrote a book, "The Great Divorce" in which, fictionally, a busload went from hell to visit heaven. They all returned. Hell will be torment even as on earth (though not as bad because Satan is a liar and deceiver). I've studied the Old Testament and love it dearly. I see God's plan. "Enoch walked with God and was not because God took him." God had a plan to restore a relationship with him that even the Old Testament prophets longed for. Oh how I searched- seeking is the key AND the willingness to turn to God with His help.
I am new to forums, but I just read stories of Jesus appearing to Muslims and telling them where to go to meet a true Christian. He met them like me. They disliked the seeming shame and hatred... One famous martyr found him on online forums and read the Bible for herself. Her love for Jesus was so strong that she was willing and glad to die for Jesus ("Ramia" - Fatima al-Maruiri).
God be with you. - Elaine

Bible clearly says:
Son can do nothing on his own, but only what he sees the Father doing.
It does not agree with what you said as what the father does, the son does. The son does what his father gives him power to do. Can you tell me any verse which says Jesus can specifically do something without fathers help?
In response Hekuran said,
I can't think of any verse that says Jesus can do something without the Father's help. It's a bit of an abstract question.
Hekuran also said,
OK. Thanks for clear explanation @OneGodBeliever. I understand what you are saying a little better now. I think it would be more accurate to say "authority" rather than "power", but that's probably a minor point.
No it's not a mnor point and there is a big difference between power and authority. If Jesus was fully God, he wouldn't need any authority or power to do anything. He also said several times that he can do nothing on his own which actually indicates he's not fully God. If Jesus were fully God, he would not have said...

Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

Christians often say like the trinity doctrine says that Jesus is all powerful. Most trinitarians know that this verse doesn't imply that...

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

All power...when the word all is used without the article it means every kind or every variety. Mathew 28:18 does NOT imply that Jesus has all the power God has. Only that of all the different powers God does have they are available to Jesus.

There is no such verse as the relationship between Father, Son, and Holy Spirit does not permit it. They exist in unity and harmony.
Then he said,
The relationship of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit describes a triune God, three in one.
NOT ONE verse describes a triune God. Triarians know that NOT ONE verse says any such thing. To say and believe what you just said is easily debunked IF one realizes the true teachings of the TRINITY doctrine.

While reading John chapters I came across 1 John 5:7.
i realised its not in RSV!
Why is that so? I see that it's not a translation mistake but a whole verse is removed. I am sure there is a different explanation!

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
The RSV is just a poor translation.

Calling Jesus a prophet is a complete mockery of and insult to God and Him laying His life down for us. Every person who teaches this whilst knowing the truth / or even suspecting it, will be called to account. Nobody wants to be that person standing before God on judgment day!!
Nobody will be called into account for calling Jesus a prophet. Jesus was a prophet and more. Jesus said he can do nothing of his own. The prophets were the same way since they often said, “the word of the Lord came to..." that means that the source of the message came from god and not the prophet. Jesus declared the same thing!
I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
John 8:28
Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
Jesus predicted the future of his own death and that of the entire world as well.

In fact Deuteronomy 18:15 calls Jesus a prophet! And Muslim's use that verse to say the prophet mentioned in Deut. 18:15 is Muhammad and NOT Jesus!

King James Bible
The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

People refer to Jesus as a prophet in Matthew 21:11; Luke 7:16; and John 4:19. Jesus also alluded to Himself as a prophet in Mark 6:4.

But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

So it's really out of line for you to say, "Every person who teaches this whilst knowing the truth / or even suspecting it, will be called to account. Nobody wants to be that person standing before God on judgment day!!"

Curtis said,
Man is a "spirit", he has a "soul", and he lives in a "body". These three parts make "one" man. God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit = "one" God.
So show me where the bible states Jesus is equal to God? There is a verse that trinitarians can't agree on that alludes he's equal to God. If you quote it I'll gladly explain it to you. He said he wasn't equal to God more than once!
Same with the holy spirit. It's beyond me why a nameless spirit would be equal to God, and why that nameless spirit is NOT found around the throne of God.

Curtis also quoted...
John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
The word "theos" has a variance of meanings. Did you know the primary meaning of it is...
a god or goddess, a general name of deities or divinities
Curtis again...
For God to save man, he needed to become a man, and to associate himself with them.
It wasn't so much that God himself had to become a man, but that some being had to.
There are likely trillions upon trillions of planets that fell requiring a Savior. Does that mean god had to become a man trillions of times and die trillions of times too?
