Matthew 24: 13
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved

After Jesus said this we already have the answer. However we will dig a bit deeper. Let's start with a definition of SAVED.

Saved - To keep someone or something safe.
Saved - To stop (someone or something) from dying or being hurt, damaged or lost.

So someone who is saved is someone who can not die.

1 Corinthians 15: 1 - 2
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

Saved in this context is from moment to moment. That is obvious because Paul said "IF" you keep in memory what was preached. Which means if they don't they can lose their salvation. Come let us continue to reason to together.

2 Timothy 1: 8 - 9
8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

You are safe while you are living and obeying Christ. If you turn around and start disobeying Christ you are no longer safe and if you die in your transgression none of your good will be mentioned.

Ezekiel 18: 20 - 26
20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

22 All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.

23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, ( I hate to jump in here but people seriously talk as if you can't change your mind after serving Christ) and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.

25 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?

26 When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.

This is consistent with what Jesus is saying. Hold onto your faith until the end and Jesus will give you a body that cannot die.

Revelation 3: 5 - 6
5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

God first discuss this book of life with Moses in Exodus 32: 30 - 33 and he explains who he will blot out. If once saved always saved then your name could not be blotted out. By saying you can't lose salvation you are calling Jesus a liar and I advice against doing that. So your name can be in the book of life and get blotted out. You have to endure and have you name remain in the book of life. So nobody can claim they are saved unless they keep the faith until Jesus comes or until he/she dies. I want to stop here to keep the thread short but I know someone will use this verse so let's examine it.

Romans 10: 9, 13 - 14
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Looks like yo need a preacher to hear about the Jesus of this bible.

Also this is exactly why Peter stated Paul's epistles are hard to be understood. God himself already told you what will happen if you turn around. So you shall be saved if you endure unto the end according to Jesus.

There is clause here as well. How can you call on a God you never heard about? People don't know about the feast of the LORD neither do they keep the Sabbath, apparently the 10 commandments have been nailed to the cross. Modern day preachers are preaching another Jesus see 2 Corinthians 11: 4 and not the Jesus preached in this bible.

25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

EXACTLY. If you are already saved then you got your reward already, so you have nothing to hope for. If I have a million dollars why would I hope for a million dollars? Search this bible out, don't let someone read one verse or verses from Paul epistles only. You are saved if you endure until the end just like your savior Jesus stated.

Juno, your entire argument assumes a Christian is a believer on probation. Scripture describes a Christian as someone already washed by Christ's blood, justified, reconciled to God, adopted into His family, and given eternal life.

A few major errors in your reasoning:
  1. You never define what a Christian actually is. Your argument only describes someone trying to be saved. It never explains how a person who has been washed, justified, adopted, and reconciled can later become unwashed, unjustified, unadopted, and unreconciled.
  2. You repeatedly confuse future glorification with present salvation. Yes, Christians still await resurrection and glorified bodies, but that does not mean they are not already saved. Scripture speaks of salvation in past, present, and future terms.
  3. Your view makes God's judgment fallible. It effectively teaches that God grafts people into His family whom He later discovers should not have been there, or adopts children He later casts out. Scripture presents God as knowing the heart and making no mistakes.
As for the passages:
  • Matthew 24:13 says true believers endure. It does not say endurance earns salvation.
  • 1 Corinthians 15:2 speaks of those who believed in vain, not genuine Christians losing salvation.

I am so tired of Christians not knowing what a Christian is! It has been suggested that Judas was a Christian. That a Christian can lose their salvation if they make mistakes just before they die. Or that God cherry picks some humans and makes them Christians.

When these statements are made it is crystal clear to me that A - The individual has no clue as to what a Christian is and B - The individual has no clue as to who God is.

A Christian is the 'whomsoever' will believe in Jesus. Now, nobody can believe a man who walked the earth 2000 years ago is the Messiah, God of the universe Isa 9:6, without some help. The bible tells us in Matt 16:16-17 and 1 Cor 12:3, that a revelation from above / the Holy Spirit is necessary. It is completely impossible to believe Jesus is Lord without a revelation from the Holy Spirit 1...

1. A Christian is a follower of Christ. Jesus Christ kept the Sabbath, do you keep the Sabbath? If you walk in Christ footsteps and believe his teachings you are Christ like and Jesus said it clear as day he that endure to the end the same shall be saved. If you don't believe that simple statement why go back and forth??

2. Listen when God washes you then you can chose to get dirty. We are free will agents. God is not forcing anyone to follow him. This version of Christianity where people think God will make you serve him forever after you get baptize is false. You can always change your mind.

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

I keep saying this and I won't stop saying it...IF is a conditional word. Some people start serving God and then they stop serving him because you are a free will agent. Jesus is not going to run down and make you serve him. Anyone who thinks that is not reading the bible.

3. Stop making God in your image. If God said a righteous man can turn from his righteousness then that means he can turn. I do not appreciate when people try to tell me Jesus is a liar in a round about way. If you don't believe what the prophets wrote then that is your choice.

Also we have a more sure word of prophecy so don't try and tell me that's old testament. This entire book is preaching one message.

Hebrews 6: 4 - 6
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
Because they crossed the line and turned away from God just like Saul the first king of Israel, once that evil spirit took hold of him not even Samuel prayers could renew him unto repentance but God was finished with him. It baffles me that people think God can't take his holy spirit from you.

Psalm 51: 10 - 11
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

David understood that GOD can take his holy spirit away from him and he can still do it if someone use his/her free will to cross the line.

2 peter 2: 20 - 22
20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

These people used their free will and turn away from GOD. They stopped keeping his commandments and Peter is saying it's better if they had never known it. A righteous man can go right back to being an unrighteous man. God didn't even create any angels to be evil they used their free will to turn away from GOD. That's how free will works, and if you don't understand that man and angel has free will you need to read some more. GOD don't turn his servants into robots that can't turn away from him.

Proverbs 28: 18
18 Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.

Shall is future tense and it means you would have died righteous. Ain't nothing new here whatever is in the old testament is literally repeated in the new.

Revelation 2: 25 - 26
25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.

26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

Hold onto your faith until Christ come. If he is telling you to hold onto it that means you can let it go. The choice is yours. That's why God told Peter I have prayed that your faith don't fail. Jesus did not say it was impossible for it to fail. We need to listen to Jesus if we claim to love him.

Hebrews 3: 14
14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

'IF" you hold onto your confidence to the end. Jesus made it plain and I am going to quote him again one more time.

As I said to you and Dave in the other thread, post a sound rebuttal to the argument on God's justness (reposted below) or concede that your are wrong. You are trying to fit God of the universe into a box that you have created. We can make mistakes of thinking we are saved. God does not make mistakes of grafting people into His family. That is the only space non-OSAS believers can operate in. If your theories were right, then there is no such thing as eternal bliss for anyone. Think on it.

I am always amused by posts from non-OSAS believers who do not seem to grasp or care how much their cherry-picking of Scripture misrepresents God.

I just have one question for you.

Do you believe the Scriptures that say God is just? If you do, how can you teach non-OSAS? If you don't, have you torn these Scriptures from your Bible?

Job 34:12 It is unthinkable that God do what is evil or pervert justice.

Non-OSAS teaches that God is unjust, as it suggests that Person A, who repents of their sins, accepts Jesus, and is chosen by God to remain on earth to serve Jesus for 50 years, can in year 51 commit sins, fall away, and go to eternal punishment, while Person B can, like the criminal next to Jesus on the cross, repent of their sins only and receive eternal bliss.

I already showed you plenty of verses that showed people can change their minds. Unless you telling me God has robots. He is not into forcing anyone to do anything.

Like who did you learn that from? If it is not the children of Israel then you doctrine is not from God.

OSAS believers are serving another Jesus all that simple. God is just which is exactly why he is not forcing you to do anything.

Honestly you are just talking at this point with no bible verse. The bible states otherwise. I mean you believe you are born again and born again is a change in body not a change in mind. I'm coming for that next, had to deal with this saved thing first.

Many ironic accusations in your post. The example I gave was the criminal next to Jesus who was granted eternal bliss. Is that not in your Bible?

The second part of the example is your teaching.

Stop dancing around the issue and deal with the argument that was raised. I gave you a very, very, very simple case-study example. The A to Z of your posts consists of quoting cherry-picked Scriptures while seemingly not grasping, or not caring, how your interpretation portrays God.
