How often do you sin ?

Jud 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

Well Yes Of Course God can keep us form falling but don't we have to choose to let Him?

How can we let Him if our flesh is weak?

Mat 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Here we see that a inventory of our sin will not be kept . ( we just need to make sure we repent)

Rom 4:8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

I am sure that this scripture looks very familiar it is about forgiving. Which we know that unless we forgive we will not be forgiven. The thing that I find interesting is that Peter is asking about his "brother".

Mat 18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

don't we call fellow children of God our brothers and sisters? So here Christ is telling us that we can and should forgive over and over. Which then shows that we also can be forgiven over and over.

Now does this mean that we should run a mess and do what we please and just say sorry ? No absolutely not!

Rev 2:5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Now Revelation Chapter 2 is written for the churches and Jesus is saying up until verse 4 that He knows all that the churches have done!

But Jesus says NEVERTHELESS....(ouch can you feel that)

Rev 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

What a blow there for some! To think you have it all good and then.... well... Nevertheless gets said to you.

Someone once told me when someone thinks the have "arrived" they are actually further away from when the started. Hmmm just a thought!

I have backed up my thoughts with scripture and I would like to see the same in return. Joyfully ~ Jlu

Unless the "path" she speaks of is Jesus Christ. Then I will just refer you to Chads post above. For if their is another way to be righteous, then for whom did Jesus die? Was it not needed for Jesus to die to pay the price for our sins? Did God send his son to die as punishment for Jesus not making it home before curfew? Or because we can not be righteous and sinless on our own? Is there another way?

"I am the way,"-Jesus Christ 33 a.d.

"the only way to the father is through me.." -Jesus Christ 33a.d.

Note: Dates are approximate.

God bless,
Nigh

Amen Night. Jesus is the ONLY way indeed and for sure, no questions asked.

So my main question is - what is this 'path' she thinks she is walking that makes her sinless for over 3 years? I pray that it is not deception but only miswording her point at the most.

Amen

We have all sinned and are in need of salvation, how long have you ever gone WITHOUT SINNING ?

Can you go a whole day without an evil thought or deed?

How about 30 minutes?

Or maybe 30 seconds?

Have you tried just sitting alone, without music, or TV, or talking , and just listening to
THE STILL SMALL VOICE OF GOD ?

>>>

I challenge you >>> sit for 30 minutes with nothing but you, silence, and GOD. (not reading the WORD just sit, and listen)

Hi Dave777

Great question!

Can't go far without sinning...lol or we wouldn't need Jesus. All sin is dealt with by the cross, so it's just what we do in our thought, word and deed, daily. Tall order to try no to sin. I guess if i managed it...even for 30 seconds....i'd feel proud...lol so i am doomed before i begin, in my flesh...lol

Glad God has a eternal supply of mercy, forgivness and grace for the 'sin i do but which i don't want to do but i end up doing' (all those micro-thoughts)

Great thread! was good to think about and it made me laugh (how we are so fickle) too.

No license to sin

Yes Theosebes, we can't go far if we take our eyes and hearts off of JESUS CHRIST.

We also do not have a license to sin. >>>

Romans 6

1. What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase?

2. May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?

3. Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?

4. Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead
through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

5. For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also
be in the likeness of His resurrection,
6. knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with,
so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;
7. for he who has died is freed from sin.

8. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
9. knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, is never to die again; death no longer is master over Him.

10. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.

11. Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

12. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts,
13. and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness;
but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of
righteousness to God.

14. For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

15. What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be!

16. Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience,
you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?

17. But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the
heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed,
18. and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.

19. I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your
members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, resulting in further lawlessness, so now present your
members as slaves to righteousness, resulting in sanctification.

20. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.

21. Therefore what benefit were you then deriving from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the outcome of those things is death.

22. But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.

23. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

>>>

We are to be dead to sin, but live through JESUS, Praise GOD.

no way will I last a day, I get to about 4-5 hours sometimes (rairly) and then get blind sided by spiritual pride

I think that this is funny is a really sad way,

But God loves me anyway \o/

I am sin ! Only through Christ , am I perceived as sinless . And only by the the Father , through Christ , will I be looked upon as righteous ! Men will always see the sin in our live's . Christ is the only hope against sin . Great thread Dave777 . And great input and fellowship from all of you . Mike

After all this lengthy thread of sins, turns out we all nicely confessed truthfully that we are sinners. Now its time for a shout out!

THANK YOU JESUS!!!

three years and running

first of all, dont panic: i am a Christian and the Way and Truth and Life i am talking about is JESUS CHRIST.

Now, the key is what Jesuslovesu typed.

Mat 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

if you pray whenever the HOLY SPIRIT leads you to pray, you can stay strong in the LORD and the power of His might. if you "walk in the SPIRIT" throughout the day you will be receptive to His leading.

But if your individual spirit and the HOLY SPIRIT are both inspiring you to pray and you pass it up: better watch out, because the spirit is willing (our spirit and the HOLY SPIRIT) but the flesh is weak. This is the whole key.

"He is able to keep you from falling." Who is "He"? The HOLY SPIRIT.

How do you know if you have sinned? if you feel conviction of the HOLY SPIRIT. It is the HOLY SPIRIT's job to convict of 1)Righteousness, 2)Sin, and 3)Judgment.

Once again, bad thoughts are common in our fallen condition. It is what we do with them after we recognize they are evil that counts. You may be thinking for a while before you realize, oh my gosh, i am harboring resentment, or i am lusting. At that point, God will give you a sufficient period of time to decide what to do with the thought: continue to enjoy the evil of it, or reject it (or ask God to help you get rid of it).

Another issue is "Flee youthful lusts." FLEE----literally, get up and run if you have to. Is your temptation and weakness over here? Then go over there!

Another very important issue: are you doing your will or God's Will? Are you picking what to do, or are you waiting on the LORD to find out where He wants you to go, and what He wants you to do. Did you know God has a perfect day planned for you, down to the detail? It is your job to find that day.

Now, on the inside, i have not been cleansed of all my weakness and sinfulness: not yet. And i have sinned: my life was an ocean of sin before i got saved. i have been saved seven years, and only the last three+ have i been preserved from falling by the HOLY SPIRIT.

There are a couple more important issues to talk about, but i will start with these. i hope this helps. GOD BLESS you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Perhaps there is one small thing in three years , that you have failed to do, which might be considered a sin?

Jude says that God is able to keep one from falling, and to present one "spotless" before the presence of His Glory. Do you believe that? i do. There is a way without sin. There is a path where God can keep one from sinning. i have found it, and am going on more than three years without sinning. oh, and by the way, an evil thought itself is not a sin, as long as you take it captive, and God gives one a buffer zone, with which a person can decide to either reject the thought or play with it and entertain it.

Have you not read 1 Pet 1:15,16

1Pe 1:15 but according to the Holy One who has called you, you also become holy in all conduct, because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."

I think it is fully possible for Marysangel to have walked in righteousness for 3+ yrs. The question you should ask is have you?

What do you think guys?

Dear brothers and sisters;

I feel it can happen, it can be very possible that sister Marysangel could has been sinless for 3 years. Its also possible that Joshua in the Old Testament didn't sin either, at least I do not find him in sin from scripture. Perhaps in between verses he may have had thoughts of jealous rage toward another brother but we don't read about it, nor have I knowledge of Marysangel's accounts during those 3 years either.

I have to admit this is an incredible feat but why would I ponder about this? Instead I should be praising God for blessing her. Perhaps God may have had a mission for Marysangel during that time making a difference in other's lives that may accomplish His purpose and plan.

Speaking for myself, I know that I must get on my knees every day and repent. I focus on His Word and ask God to work within me, turn me from my ways, but alas, must still seek forgiveness for my weaknesses.

Your servant in Christ Jesus.

Once is to MUCH!

To SIN but ONCE would be to MUCH for we would still need the Salvation gifted through Christ JESUS, God's only Begotten Son.

I would rather contemplate on that which the LORD has directed me too and that would be:

How often have I REPENTED and I would have to say everytime and also, how often have I been forgiven and I would say everytime because I forgive everyone all the time thanks to the Holy Spirit and God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins when we confess them and I have.

And as for the challenge....
Can you go a whole day without an evil thought or deed?

How about 30 minutes?

Or maybe 30 seconds?

Yes! I can but I can not tell you when but I can tell you how...By the GRACE of God and the workings of his most Holy Spirit.

In  of JESUS the Christ, Our LORD, the ONLY begotten Son of GOD.

I see this perfect day within my grasp, I see it in theory. The word teaches me it can be done. It also shows us all how to achieve it.

Someone asked how to achieve this sinless perfect life.

Its all in the word. To follow Christ.

We are just too scared to leave the world behind. I am scared to leave it behind, does anyone else feel this way?

If a man can stand here and say he has overcome the world, then let him speak.

I am not strong enough, but I pray that the holy spirit within me will guide me to become as Christ was, holy.

For Christ was not of this world. Its just I feel the Holy Spirit is pushing me, but I am holding it back. If we let the spirit lead us 100% then we will transfer into Jesus, his spirit becomes inside us. We deny ourselves. Then we will become not of this world.

I desire worldy things, Christ did not.

Im sorry for rambling but these are words from my heart.

Hi Dave! I must say - yes - I have at times sit and talked with GOD - and yes I could feel HIS answers given to me. Not always just in reading HIS Word through the Holy Scriptures but - sometimes - in a silent prayer to HIM - whether I am in my car or even walking on the beach. It's truly amazing how HE sends us HIS Reminders to us through prayer to HIM. And how good it truly feels to know that HIS Word is truly Tatooed upon our hearts. Jonah2005 {*genesis!}
