How to discern the true Christ and the false ones?

I have some problems.
For it is written, “And then if any man shall say to you, See, here is Christ; or, see, he is there; believe him not: For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.”
What's the true Christ and the false?
How to discern the true Christ and the false ones?

Jesus is the true Christ, and everything He says is truth. Anything anyone says that counters what He says is a liar and anyone coming in His name presuming to teach error is a false teacher. Anyone claiming to be a saviour or someone to follow for spiritual health and salvation is a false Christ. Only those who follow Jesus---His sheep----know His voice and will not follow another. He keeps us safe from the enemy.

Read John 10!

John 10:2-5
But the one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice. 5 They won’t follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don’t know his voice.”

1. A true follower judges all things 1 Cor 2:15.

2. A true follower always goes to doctors. They don't tempt God Luke 4:12.

3. Then you are not sounding anything like Jesus in your post # 6.

Hello My Berother KJ, ;)
Would you please take some time and honestly explain how you connect Luke 4:12 With not going to a doctor? Now KJ you would not be applying that seeking God for the healing that He has already provided you is tempting God now are you ? ;)

Looking forward to this explanation
God Bless

Hi Jim.

I don't believe TD was even thinking about bodily healing in his statement as I noted above.

I am always up for a discussion on healing. You know that ;). But it will hijack this thread.

We just need to look at how Jesus spoke to the devil to know how to speak to others. Jesus showed the devil respect. Gave him the time of day on not one but three occasions. Did not insult. Did not mock. Did not condemn. Did not say that he spoke 100 words of rubbish. He listened to the devil and politely corrected him.

There are elementary principles and doctrines of Christ that perhaps a six year old could grasp. But judging is not one of them. For the right amount of candy a six year old will agree with me.

You are assuming too much. Open a thread and lets have a proper discussion.

I find you espousing ''don't judge others'' quite ironic right now.

Something we agree on. I overlooked your 'sinners' and ' self righteous'.

2 Tim 3:16

Wow. I am on the road to hell because I believe you miss-interpret judging and are rude. That is very deep discernment.

Arrogance and pride is synonymous with satanism not Christianity Matt 5:5.

I do not mean to come after you but Brother that is some mighty strange belief.
Jesus NEVER shows respect to the devil - If you are referring to when Jesus was tempted by satan then Jesus said it is written and quoted the word of God and satan would leave...........

Ahhhhhhh Brother then there is part 2 where Jesus kicked satans but and took back the keys of death from him. Jesus has no respect for the devil and no believer should either.

HI Kj ,
I thought that you were saying if we seek healing then we are tempting God. That is what it looked like.
If I missed your point then please forgive me......
Blessings

God is impassible. If Jesus hated the devil / did not respect him don't you expect Matt 4 to read ''The devil came to tempt Jesus and Jesus called for a legion of angels to throw him off the cliff' ;).

If you want to discuss anything further lets open a new thread.

why is it brother that you can write these post but when you are replied to and called on what you said it is always start a new thread and dont high jack the thread BUT it is your very own writing that is questioned ?
Are we the only ones who have to follow this rule bro ? Just sayen !

well there is only one Lord Jesus Christ.

So I don't know who all these other people are or claim to be.
Just keep reading your Bible and then you can see who Jesus is and his eyewitness claims to be the christ, as well as fulfilling all biblical prophecies.

We, as christians, are christ followers but we are not the Christ.

God's hatred doesn't look like human hatred. We are to hate sin also, but we are not to commit sin in the expression of it....like anger. There is righteous anger, and the unrighteous, sinful expression of it.

C4E, I request to move posts #20, #21, #22, #23, & #27 into a new thread. I guess title it "Judging" since we're going to cover the entire scope of the "Judging" subject, or you can title is whatever you wish.

Jesus answered that very simply. When they are announced, don't go listen, don't believe them. In other words, ignore them no matter the miracles and signs. Jesus, the Christ, has already come. When he returns, believers will know him. No man on earth could do what Jesus will do then.

One of the most difficult "signs" of a true believer for new believers to learn is the concept of "good fruit". Many unbelievers seem to produce "good fruit" at lest when in public, but the main difference between true and false is first the dominance of the word of God in the lives of those who profess Jesus. Are they "New Testament"? Do they teach contrary to Jesus, or Paul, or Peter? Do they seem to argue with John or Matthew? If Christ is in them, they will make themselves known by the good fruit they display as described in the scriptures. There will be no unrepented contradiction concerning the scriptures, primarily the New Testament. They know the Lord's voice and obey it. In doing so they are known as "Little Christs", people who act like Jesus. If they imitate Moses, steer clear.

1 John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

False prophets will not speak of Jesus Christ. False prophets will not read from the word of God. The spirit of antichrist is any spirit that doesn't confess Jesus as saviour.

I hope this helps. <3 God bless!

OMGoodness Hallyson.....They can and they do speak of Jesus Christ and they do use the Word....They just twist it.

They can and they do speak of Jesus Christ

Yes, ok I do agree they may speak of or claim to be some form of Christ. Most of the time they do not quote scripture. When is the last time you saw someone like Joel Osteen whip out his trusty KJV Bible and teach his church that in order to receive salvation they must repent of their sins and be saved by grace through faith or they are in danger of hell? :D I should have begun my original post with most of the time.

Osteen's church preaches the gospel, and is producing the fruit to prove that fact. Don't start maligning known Christians in order to make some point about what is of God and what isn't. It is just not appropriate, and causes great discord. Thank you.

what is of God and what isn't

Friend, I do not mean to offend you. What is of God and what isn't is very important today. We live in a time when people should pray for discernment about this. We should all pray that we may see the difference between sound doctrine, and any other doctrine.

1 Timothy 1: 9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Titus 1:9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: 11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.

Titus 2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

It is just not appropriate

I am sorry you feel this way, but we are allowed to disagree while both striving to better serve God. Forgive me if I feel that it is appropriate to share with people the way I feel, and how I perceive God's Word versus the words of new age religious leaders. I feel the best religious leaders in this world hold fast to sound doctrine and do not teach people to exalt themselves or seek out/expect the good things of this world: this is my opinion. It is OK if we do not agree. Hopefully, like family, we can agree to disagree respectfully. :) God bless and have a great day!
