Gosh, my computer moving so slowly has caused me to miss a lot of threads. My thoughts only here.
1. Chad, you're no help.
2. Joking can bring laughter which relaxes the body - mentally & physically & makes one more receptive to advice or change.
3. Many good points brought out already.
4. Make a budget with the money you have. Select categories that pertain to your needs - such as cell phone (I am only using examples here...fill in for you personally), clothes, shoes, hair, etc. Select a certain percentage for each category. Here's an example:
Title 10%
Savings 10%
Clothing 10%
Shoes 10%
Hair 10%
I'm using 10 because it makes it easier to understand. Let's say you receive $100. You then divide it according to your percentages - I stopped with a few examples, but you'll want your percentages to equal 100.
5. Shop when you have accumulated money in your "accounts". Take only that money - I strongly agree with NO CREDIT CARDS.
6. Don't try to cut yourself off cold turkey. People have to shop. Saying you never will again is only going to set you up for failure.
7. Pick something that is your real weakness & reward yourself with that when you follow your budget for 3 months.
8. Pray before you shop. This absolutely works.
I know this is long & I hope not too confusing, but planning makes things work. I'll be glad to talk with you more on this. Remember it's is scriptural to be good stewards of our money...if God wants us to do that, He will provide a way...just ask Him.
