So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. (1cor 10:12).

If it is any consolation I know what it is like to be a teenager and want to feel loved and have attention from the opposite sex in fact I craved it. Although, I am not a teen anymore I went through a time when I felt a distance between my parents and myself. At that point I felt very alone even though I was surrounded by people.

Those feelings in me contributed to a teenage pregnancy. I looked at having a baby through rose coloured glass (although I did not plan to have a baby at the time I thought the baby would give me the love craved) and that outlook resulted in me taking what I thought was a calculated risk. I obviously love my daughter but it was the wrong time in my life to take on extra responsibility and parent a family. I was not a Christian at the time and didn't really have a guide to follow. I didn't have the holy spirit to bless me with self control.

Anyway my point is that you have a solid faith something which I didn't have during my teenage years. You will never be alone. The door has been opened to you. You have light in your life and a glorious future to look forward to. You have many adventures ahead of you and some of them you have to journey on your own and some later on when the time is right you may chose to share with someone special.

All you may need is just to take a step back to assess and look at things. Maybe there is a Christian youth retreat you could go to. Do you have a plan to go/do something positve and enjoyable at the end of all the hardwork and responsibility? Sometimes it helps if we have something in the near future to look forward to, to keep us motivated and keep our objectivity and positivity. What are your goals in life? Everyone needs to feel like they are making progress. The Lord wants you to be performing at your best, he wants that you do what is necessary for yourself so that you have clear head and a clear conscience, so that you can ultimately bring glory to his name and save others. Before we can help others we need to accept that there is soul inside us that needs nurturing also. A firefighter puts his own oxygen mask on first before he tackles the blaze and rescues others!

I will say a prayer for you that the Lord sends you the answers that you need.

I am glad you shared this . I've felt like that for years. And I look very young so that adds to it. People still think I'm 15 or 16. But to other teens I seemed to serious because I wasn't disrespecting my elders. like you said alot of teens do. But it's now when i'm 19 that I finally realize I need to savor each year.Because life is very short and I should thank god for each day. God Bless you

Does anyone else dislike being a teen? I cant stand it. I dont like to participate in what other teens do. I dont like to be thought of as a teen(and its not for the normal teen reason, it is because teens are very disrespectful). But i know why im here and what my purpose is right now, to help teens because im wise(not to be conceited) and i can relate to their problems. But ohhh do i dislike it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do anyother teens have similiar problems?

This is a passing stage...only prayer and love can change them...be happy what you are and be at your best..

Hi CraizyForChrist, I'm glad to hear that you have a purpose in your life with GOD, because many do not realize it.

As far as being a teen, well I went through that many, many years ago, back in the 1970's.

And don't worry so much about growing up. That will sneek up on you soon enough.

And yes, some teenagers are just a little bit more immature then others.
Where as others are a little bit more mature, {like yourself}.

There is one thing I have learn in life for me through my teenage years till now is, it wasn't so much the teenagers {people} I dislike, but it was the things {actions} that they did.

You have a love for GOD & Christ Jesus & for HIS Rules & Regulations as well.
This is why you do not like the actions of the other teens around you {that you spoke of}.

You do not have such a wild {or should I say a disrespecfule} striek such as theirs.

But what we all must remember is that there are many out there that don't know GOD or claim to know HIM, and still others who know little of HIM & of Jesus Christ, HIS Only Begotten Son.

And why Jesus set the examples for us to follow. I understand that you probably realize that & more. That we are to follow in Jesus's examlpes & to become like Jesus in our attitude & daily life style.

You, I & others who Worship GOD are fortunate, because we have HIM in our lives. Where as many do not, because they do not know HIM.

One of the most important things that I have learned from serving & Worshiping The Almighty GOD is; 'in the examples, that we, ourselves do.

And in living - by - setting the examples that Christ Jesus, wanted us to do, is one of the best ways we can get The Almighty GOD'S Word (messages) across.
It is written by James (in The Bible): "Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly."
But what we all can do is, follow & pay close attention to what Jesus (Christ) had to say. When we all start following Jesus (Christ), and live by His teachings, then in our actions we are becoming like Jesus. {Matthew 17:5 & 1 Timothy 4:16}

As Jesus, had hoped we would. And through those actions, that we are living according to, in one sense we are also teaching others.

The little ones for example, children watch & learn from their parents actions.

People also, live according to what they come to believe makes good sense to them.

Since we have the whole wide world surrounding us, with so many people watching us, just think about all those people that are learning from us.

And what's even more wonderful is, it's the work of The Almighty GOD HIMSELF, working in us & through us, through the teachings of our Beloved Savior, Christ Jesus!

You only get to be a teenager once. You only to be basically "carefree" once, and once its over you'll probably look back and wish for that again!!
I'm a teen myself and sometimes I dislike it, but basically, I'm pretty content. I think teens are a lot more effective with other teens than adults are working with teens. They can relate more. So, I enjoy trying to help teens and my friends and what not.
