Yes...it was all part of God's plan that the sinless blood of Jesus Christ would pay the ransom price and redeem us from death and hell.
I think God chose the method of cruxificion because it was so public, humiliating and torturous. This way we could never make light of what Jesus did, but forever be truly grateful!
Jesus died willingly, it didn't happen by mistake, he was always in control and obedient to the Father.
"I lay down my life that I may take it again. No one has taken it away from me, but I lay it down on my own initiative. I have the authority to lay it down and I have the authority to take it up again." - Jesus (John 10:17-18)
Psalm 22 contains many accurate prophetic verses about Jesus suffering, as does Isaiah 52:13 and chapter 53.
My favourite prophetic passage is found in Zechariah 12:10. (Compare this with Revelation 1:7) These two verse have a further fulfiment still waiting.

Good amswer, Evangeline.
I see it as follows:
The wages of sin is death.
Since Christ had no sin, He was not subject to death. He did, however lay down His life. (Jn 10:15,17)
It was the Father's will that Jesus go to the cross. (Lk 22:42)
If Jesus did not go to the cross He would have been disobedience to the Father's will which is sin, and subject to death.
Praise God it pleased the Father to bruise Him, and thank you Jesus for being obediebt to the Father that we may go free!!!
