“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.’” “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” ”He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.” “Jesus answered and said to him, ‘If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.’” (John 14:6,15,21,23,24 NASB1995)

Our God, the one and only true God of the universe, is Father, Son Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit. So, not one of us can believe in God the Father and not believe in Jesus Christ, God the Son. So all who profess to believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, but who reject Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, do not truly believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. So, all Jews who do not accept Jesus Christ as their Messiah do not believe in the same God as we do who believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Master.

For no one can come to God the Father except through Jesus Christ, and none of us can believe in Jesus Christ unless God the Father first draws us to Christ, i.e. unless he first persuades us as to his holiness and righteousness, and of our sinfulness, and of our need to die to sin and to obey God, as those who profess faith in our Lord Jesus. For faith in Jesus Christ requires that we deny self, die daily to sin, and that we walk (in conduct, in practice) in obedience to our Lord and to his commands under the New Covenant.

[Hebrews 12:1-2; Ephesians 2:8-10; John 6:44; Luke 9:23-26; Acts 26:18]

Now there are many people today who are teaching a gospel of salvation absent of death to sin and walks of obedience to our Lord and to his commands. For they are teaching that we are saved and on our way to heaven based merely on a verbal confession of Christ as Lord and belief that God raised him from the dead. But that is being taught out of context, and it ignores the bulk of the teachings on the gospel of our salvation which insist that we must deny self, die to sin, and follow our Lord in obedience.

But if we love Jesus, we will obey his commandments, and we will be loved by him and by God the Father. But if sin is what we obey, and not God’s commandments, then we do not love God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – and we don’t know God, and we are not in fellowship with Jesus Christ. And so we don’t have salvation from sin and eternal life with God, which is promised to all who believe in Jesus, who are dying to sin daily (in practice), and who are following our Lord in walks of obedience to his commands.

For our faith in Jesus Christ is not based on the teachings of other humans, many of which distort and alter the truths of the Scriptures to make them less offensive and more attractive to human flesh and to the world. But our faith in Jesus must be based on the teachings of the Scriptures taught by Jesus Christ and by his New Testament apostles, taught in their correct biblical context, and not out of context which many do in order to deceive. And then we will know the right way in which we are to go by faith in God.

For Jesus Christ taught that to come to him we must deny self, take up our cross daily (die daily to sin), and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to living in sin and for self, we will lose our lives for eternity. But if we deny self, die daily to sin, by the Spirit, and we walk in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in his power, then we have eternal life with God. For not everyone who calls him “Lord” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one DOING (obeying) the will of God (see Luke 9:23-26; Matthew 7:21-23).

For by God-gifted faith in Jesus Christ, which is not of our own doing, we are crucified with Christ in death to sin and raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin but as slaves to righteousness in walks of obedience to God’s commands. We are no longer to permit sin to reign in our mortal bodies to make us obey its desires. For if sin is what we obey, it results in death. But if obedience to God is what we obey, it results in sanctification, and its end is eternal life with God (see Romans 6:1-23).

So, please read the Scriptures in their appropriate biblical context so that you are learning the truth spoken by Jesus Christ and by his New Testament apostles, and so you are not relying upon other human beings in our day and time to actually teach you the truth of what God’s word teaches us.

[Matthew 7:13-14,21-23; Luke 9:23-26; John 10:27-30; Acts 26:18; Romans 1:18-32; Romans 2:5-10; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:1-23; Romans 8:1-14; 1 Corinthians 10:1-22; Galatians 5:16-24; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:17-32; Ephesians 5:3-6; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 3:1-19; Hebrews 4:1-13; Hebrews 10:19-39; Hebrews 12:1-2; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 1:1-10; 1 John 2:3-6; 1 John 3:4-10; Revelation 2:1-29; Revelation 3:1-22]

My Sheep

My sheep hear me. They know me.
They listen to my voice and obey.
I call them and lead them.
They know my voice, so they follow me.
They will never follow strangers.
They will run away from them.
The voice of a stranger they know not;
They do not follow him.

So, I tell you the truth that
I am the gate, so you enter in.
Whoever does enter
Will find forgiveness and will be saved.
Nonetheless whoever enters
Not by the gate; other way,
He is the thief and a robber.
Listen not, the sheep to him.

Oh, I am the Good Shepherd,
Who laid his own life down for the sheep.
I know them. They know me.
They will live with me eternally.
The thief only comes to steal and
Kill and to destroy the church.
I have come to give you life that
You may have it to the full…

They know my voice, so they follow me.

Believe ye the word

Rom 10:9-10
(9) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
(10) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Rom 10:13
(13) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

We have to be very careful with the word of God, you can say something as simple as what the word says to be saved, and get falsely accused of saying that you do not believe in taking up your cross daily and following Jesus.

And we have to believe all the word of God.

Eph 2:8-10
(8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
(9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.
(10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

To come to Christ, we had to get drawn to Christ by his Spirit, and then we were able to make a decision to accept Christ or not, to accept the free gift, not to work towards the free gift, but to accept, receive the free gift.

And we came to him as sinners needing a savior, and God tells us to come to him in repentance, and to acknowledge what he done for us, and receive him as the Lord and savior of our lives.

It is a very simple gospel, and after we have done that in truth, we are indeed saved, have been born again, and now he empowers us to live a godly life, he did not empower us beforehand, he empowers us after we have received the free gift, and then we can by the power of the Holy Ghost take up our cross daily and follow him.

Rom 6:6-8
(6) Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
(7) For he that is dead is freed from sin.
(8) Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

It says that our old man is crucified with Christ, we either believe it or not.

That is what Christ did for us, the sin nature was nailed to the cross, the old man was nailed to the cross, and it says that we died with Christ.

It is not that our old man is being crucified with Christ, but that the old man is crucified with Christ, Jesus did not do a half done deal concerning defeating the power of sin.

But even though that is so, and the sin nature has been put out of commission, that does not mean that the sin nature is not there, because the old man can come back to the surface, and as the bible says none of us have attained in our walk with God, and that we die daily.

Eph 4:22-23
(22) That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
(23) And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

And every now and again, even though Christ defeated the power of sin on the cross, we still have to put off the old man now and again, which shows that we still sin, we no longer practice sin, but because we are not perfect and are being perfected, we still fall into sin now and again.

If the word says we are sanctified (set apart), and are being sanctified, we do not get to decide and change the words to fit our doctrine, if the word mentions both, then it is both.

We really do have victory in the name of Jesus over sin, and we are daily learning how to walk by faith, in our walk with God, and we are continuously growing in grace and faith, it is a life long process.

Caveat: Saint Luke chapter 23, verse 24...
King James Bible
"Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. "

When I think of this particular thing concerning everyone's unique individual faith in and love of The LORD, Christ Almighty, Amen and Amen... I think of the above quote of The Word, and God's mercy upon each of us.

How many killers became new creatures like Saint Paul?
How many pained people went the way of Judas?
How many wonder at death's door like the Thief on the Cross?
How many who cast out devils in Jesus' Holy Name will be saved, and Who but God can thrust the iniquitous amongst those into the Hell meant for fallen angels?

How many newcomers into seeking the Redemption of Justice and Mercy that only Holy Holy Holy Christ can provide... how many of them can we hope to see in Heaven?

Being a Christian is the utmost responsibility for self and our human family, at home and across this beautiful world.

May we individually and collectively be guided by the Holy Spirit of Truth and Light and Love back into God's perfect embrace.

The cross had to take place, in order for the old man to be crucified, and we had to receive the free gift in order for us to receive the benefits of the cross, and so that our old man can be crucified.

And on the day of Pentecost the 120 became born again, had the benefits of the cross in them, and now by the empowerment of the Holy Ghost could live a godly life, and of course they were also baptized in the Holy Ghost.

During Christ's life it was a transition period, and he was pointing them to the way of the new covenant, while yet fulfilling the law, and in order for the cross to work in someone's life, he had to first die, and also the resurrection had to take place.

So it was a transition period from the old covenant to the new covenant.

How do we take up our cross today ?

Yes God draws you to himself, you come to him in surrender, but you can only put off the old man, when you have received salvation, and not beforehand.

God's message was this, to one who comes after him, one must deny himself take up his cross daily and follow him, it is a simple message.

And Jesus said this before the cross took place, and was preparing them for this time, for they probably wondered at that time, what does he mean by the cross.

Once you receive salvation the benefits of the cross comes into you, your old man is crucified, and you must keep him that way, by taking up your cross daily and following Jesus.

And yes we die daily.

Born again and taking up your cross

Joh 3:3-4
(3) Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
(4) Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

Now Jesus said this even before he died on the cross and resurrected from the dead.

Now at this moment was Nicodemus able to be born again, even though Jesus said ye must be born again ?

1Pe 1:3
(3) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

No Nicodemus could not be born again at this time, for the resurrection had not taken place, but also the Holy Ghost was not sent back.

Now let us get to the message of taking up our cross.

Luk 14:27
(27) And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

What is a disciple ?

It is one who follows the ways of Jesus.

And in order to walk before God as a disciple, one first needs to receive the free gift of salvation, then he can be a disciple and bear his cross.

And yes we die to self and the ways of sin daily.

And to bear one's cross, you resist the devil in temptation, you continue to choose to obey God in persecution and so on and so forth.

Luk 17:33
(33) Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

As we learn to follow Christ and bear our cross, we are gradually ceasing from the way of sin, from trusting our works to save us, from putting our object of faith to something else other than Christ and him crucified.

If you lose your life, you shall preserve it, but if we seek to preserve our lives, in trusting in ourselves to save ourselves, in walking in the way of sin, we shall lose our lives, we shall lose eternal life.

When we received Christ as our lord and savior, in repentance, that was obedience, in fact it was the first step of obedience.

And we must accept all scripture the present tense ones, and the future tense ones, otherwise, we have half the gospel.

Let us let Christ live through us, let us walk in his love.

Put off the old man, and put on the new man.

God can only use a submitted heart.
