That was spoken to a first-century audience. It is somewhat arbitrary to apply it to us living today.
I agree! I have studied the "end times" subject for a long time and am kind of weary of it. There are great Christian researchers that hold to the view that the end times prophecies were all fulfilled before A.D. 70. Others believe that prophecy is and has been ongoing throughout history. Then of course, you have the Hal Lindsay-type authors, which a lot of Christians hold to today, which I believe is way off the mark.
We may be near the end of this age right now, but how long that "end times" will last I know not.
