Hi everyone!
My name is Scarlett. I'm new here and somewhat new to learning about Christianity. I say somewhat, because I feel I have a basic knowledge (and somewhat of an understanding) of Christianity, however, for a long time I was one of those people who 'knew about it' and knew it was all a load of baloney. A couple of years ago, I became interested in actually defending atheism. I thought all religions were silly, and was intent to show people why their beliefs were silly, as well. Upon confronting some people, it became obvious that I knew far less about Christianity than I thought I did. So, still wholly intending to prove my point, I decided to arm myself with knowledge and learn more about it. I started listening to Christian talk radio, purchased a couple different versions of the Bible and set out to learn why I didn't believe it.
The funny thing is, along the way, I started to question myself. Don't misread this, though. While I don't 'not believe' anymore, I can't say that I do believe, either. I think I still have a lot more to learn to be able to make a decision one way or the other. I have too much respect for Christianity - and for myself - to just pick something and go with it without understanding why I feel or believe the way I do.
I look forward to talking with all of you here and deepening my understanding of Christianity.
