Is smoking Tobacco a sin

How can you know drinking lots of alcohol or even smoking a cigarette on a daily basis is a sin? That's easy to find out! Does becoming drunk or smoking get you closer to God than not dealing with such things? The only acceptable answer is they are sins because they make you stay away from Him and can even kill you by causing serious illnesses that at some point might not be treatable in any hospital any longer. Saying that such stuff is not a problem or you can't lose salvation because you just keep drinking a lot or smoking n amount of cigarettes, is a clear defiance of His Will that is no better than looking for hookers anywhere to do you know what. The very attempt of justifying addictions demonstrates that you either shamelessly ignore the Holy Spirit's warnings or you never repented from your sins but just pretended you did. Sometimes this kind of weird behavior is a consequence of listening to the world's teachings that tell you everything is allowed, everything leads you to a better place. We should keep in mind how blind human flesh is spiritually. Why did I say you could lose your salvation? Salvation is eternal, but the Lord was clear that we should work hard to stay fir in faith till he comes. If you don't care about smoking and He comes to take His Church to the sky or Heaven, why would He take the active smoker or drunkard that didn't obey Him there? To watch you look for a way to replace it with any other addiction? (I know, those already possessing a glorified body won't feel the need to sin, but my point here is that He wouldn't transform someone that still needs to learn a lot from the Gospel, the epistles, the prophets and even Revelations.) Most likely He would prefer to leave the smoker and the drunkard in the world as a last attempt to make him or her repent from their sins after witnessing His Wrath during the Tribulation.

That's why I encourage you smokers and drunkards, no matter if that sounds harsh, to treat such stuff as some of the worst sins from your own perspective so you do get a chance to listen to the Lord, repent from them, let His Holy Spirit guide you and strengthen you in times of need. Say it's just as bad as other stuff as eating a few candies, and He will punish you by hardening your heart making it more difficult for you to repent. Why should they be the worst sins for you? Because those are the sins that can make you leave the Lord behind and love the world, which is the enemy of the Lord. Anyone who loves the world, doesn't know Him or wants to become an anathema despite of having listening to the Gospel.
Hi sleepy Edwin, Time to wake up! When we come to Jesus, we come as sinners to a saviour, we come to get saved. We realise our need, we realise we cannot save ourselves. Romans 7:24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death. Thanks be to God, through - Jesus Christ our Lord? If someone is drowning, do you row your boat up to them, and then tell them to save themselves? or do you grab them and pull them to safety. Smokers and drinkers are addicted, they are prisoners of the enemy and they need to be released. Luke 4:18 " The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recover the sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free. To say they have to release themselves, is to make a mockery of salvation. 1 John 1:8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. This applies to you too Edwin, you too are a sinner, if you say you are not, then you are a liar. Would you like to be left behind with the smoker and the drunkard. We all have sin, even if it is to allow our gaze to rest on the legs of a pretty young girl for that extra moment. Is that any less sinful than a person smoking. We are called to love one another, not find fault and condemn. bless you.

Smoking is not good, we know that, but we keep smoking, fornication is not good too, but we keep doing it, and sugar is not good too,
"The effects of added sugar intake — higher blood pressure, inflammation, weight gain, diabetes, and fatty liver disease — are all linked to an increased risk for heart attack and stroke," says Dr. Hu.Nov 5, 2019 but we keep on taking it.:eyes:

This a hard world to live in.:pensive: "wages of Sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life" and "sin" is missing mark. Missing the mark is: Not wanting the full Love of GOD that He wants to present to us through HIs SON. By living to the obedience of GOD's Word is a "Blessing and not a curse" Now why would we choose the things, that curse and dam us, And rejoice in doing them?

We are messed up!

It feels good when tight and warm. Also, we're told we can't or shouldn't so, we want it. Its everywhere. Its sex on steroids these days with forn fitting apparel and tv. The fascinating part is that, the true craving is to the source and everything else is shortsighted as well as in contrast to the true desire. The severed connection with God or more accurately, the illusion of the disconnect.

Messed up? Maybe. Some more than others. I spent most of my youth chasing girls and learning cold approach.

True. and America growth and riches and christianity made it progress and success through the Crops of "Tobacco". Tobacco and Cotton, and sugar by slave labor which made America a powerful rich christian country,

Now is that not strange. i am not beating our country up. Christians had always smoke Pipes Cigars, The christian women chew Tobacco put "Snuff" up their nose. In those days There was not to much cheating going around, Who want to kiss a woman with a mouth full chewing "Tobacco"! :eyes: With a spit cup in her apron. Do any one remember those days? Mostly it was christian church going people did those things. They might not drink that much, But they would wear that "Tobacco" out! Spit cans everywhere. If you remember, most likely you tried some. Made you sick as dog! Especially that "SNUFF" women used to put up their nose or under that lip!:eyes: Steal some, you be "THROWING UP" you will not touch that stuff no more! LOL!

i am a light smoker who was born again 2 years ago I have aspergers and have tried to quit I wondered am I going to go to hell if I don't quit also any advice is good

The SIN in Smoking lies in the addiction thereof. I.e. you shall NOT have any gods before THE GOD. Smokers generally SERVE their little white god with a dedication unparalleled.
I was a three pack a day smoker for about a decade, and was totally unable to kick the habit, until I made it a significant mater of prayer, and essentially GOD gave me the resolve to stop back in '67. I'm STILL a Smoker - I just didn't light up today (for the last 54 years).
