Scripture says the Father raised Jesus, that Jesus raised Himself, and that the Holy Spirit raised Jesus. Do you believe scripture is wrong ? In Genesis God said let us make man in our image after our likeness. God created man in His image and man has a body soul and spirit. If you connect the dots the answer is right in front of you.

Greetings,

Scripture says the Father raised Jesus, that Jesus raised Himself, and that the Holy Spirit raised Jesus. Do you believe scripture is wrong ? In Genesis God said let us make man in our image after our likeness. God created man in His image and man has a body soul and spirit. If you connect the dots the answer is right in front of you.

thank you for your reply.

may i ask, what is the answer to?

Jesus did not raise Himself from the dead, God did. When Jesus said destroy this temple and in 3 days I will raise it up He was speaking the words that the Father gave Him to say
so God was saying to them through Jesus destroy this body and in 3 days I will resurrect it!!

Rom 10:9 "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that GOD HATH RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD, thou shalt be saved."

1 Peter 1:21 "Who by Him (Jesus) do believe in God, that RAISED HIM (JESUS) FROM THE DEAD, and GAVE Him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God."

Dear Samson2020,
It really goes back to the Trinity. Since Jesus is God incarnate, there is no conflict with what you have written and the following verses.

"As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. "And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock [and] one shepherd. "Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. "No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father." John 10:15-18 NKJV

I know the Trinity is a problem for you and I'm sensitive to the position you are in.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

as in, Faithful and True...

I wonder how frustrated the Lord could get watching those who truely want to serve Him getting all definite on opposing sides of the same side?

If I went to an art gallery with you and we were both looking at a display on a stand, you would be correct to tell what you saw from your side, as i would be from mine..... but....

A parable

A group of blind men heard that a strange animal, called an elephant, had been brought to the town, but none of them were aware of its shape and form. Out of curiosity, they said: "We must inspect and know it by touch, of which we are capable". So, they sought it out, and when they found it they groped about it. The first person, whose hand landed on the trunk, said, "This being is like a thick snake". For another one whose hand reached its ear, it seemed like a kind of fan. As for another person, whose hand was upon its leg, said, the elephant is a pillar like a tree-trunk. The blind man who placed his hand upon its side said the elephant, "is a wall". Another who felt its tail, described it as a rope. The last felt its tusk, stating the elephant is that which is hard, smooth and like a spear.

Since God is "one" God the Father can not do anything without the Son of God and the Holy Spirit working in unity. Neither can Jesus do anything on his own without the other two members of the Godhead.

Jesus did not raise Himself from the dead, God did. When Jesus said destroy this temple and in 3 days I will raise it up He was speaking the words that the Father gave Him to say
Jesus said.....

Joh 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

If Jesus only speaks the words of his Father then God the Father said he could do nothing on his own! This is a true saying because God the Father works through his Son, by the Holy Spirit.

Respectfully, that’s not what I asked about. Specifically- what scriptural support can you offer for this idea that the Father “can not do anything” without the son of God?

If you knew the scriptures you have known that Jesus only speaks what he hears his father say. Jesus said when the Holy Spirit comes he will not speak of himself but only what he hears. When God speaks it always starts with the Father through the Son and by the Holy Spirit. If Jesus said he could do nothing on his own that is what the father said, and what the Holy Spirit says. None of the Godhead can do anything on their own without the other two.

In other words, you have no scriptural support for your premise. It’s circular reasoning. It starts with an “if” that isn’t supported.

God does not share His glory according to scripture, and yet Jesus received glory and will for eternity. God has shown Himself three different ways. As God the Father, As the Son( flesh) a sacrifice for sin, and as the Hooy Spirit. Yet there is only ONE God. Again connect the dots John1:1,1:14,8:58 and Isaiah 9:6 .

Jesus said,” I have the power to lay it down and I have the power to raise it up. He most certainly did say He raised Himself.

"The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life -- only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again" (John 10:17-18).

Proof Jesus is not God--Psalm 45:7--Hebrews 1:3-4

Proof Jesus is not God--Psalm 45:7--Hebrews 1:3-4

There is of course a hierarchy in the God head. Jesus although He is God.. has a God. He Himself is part of that God.

Some people have a family. They love their family. Even though they themselves are part of that family.

A foreign diplomat was recently rescued by some special forces troops sent by his government to save him, even though he himself is part of that government.

Jesus (the man) has a God, even though He Himself is part of that God.

Gen 1:1; In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

John 1:1; In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:2; He was in the beginning with God.
John 1:3; All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

Jesus was with God, and Jesus is God.

Col 1:16; For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.

Proof Jesus is God. Even the Father calls Him God.

Heb 1:8; But of the Son He says, "YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER, AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM.
