JESUS THE MEDIATOR OF THE NEW TESTAMENT

@JesusIs4Me,
You said my first reference, “Col. 1:23,” does not say you must continue in the faith to be saved.

Question: Does it present a “condition” by saying, “IF” you continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not “MOVED AWAY” from the “HOPE” (faith) of the Gospel. The Gospel is “Eternal Life,” which they have heard and Paul has ministered to every creature under Heaven? I sent you another scripture based on condition (1Jo. 2:24). I compare scripture with scripture and let scripture confirm itself. Timothy said Jesus was raised from the dead according to his “gospel” (2Ti. 2:8). If a believer is moved away from the Gospel, they move away from Christ because they are not abiding in Him (Joh. 15:6).

The verse you presented to me 2Ti. 2:13 in context is saying, If we are dead with Christ, we shall live with Him. If we suffer with Him, we shall reign with Him. If we deny Him, He will also deny us. This is where your scripture comes in: If we believe not yet Christ abides faithful, He cannot deny Himself.

If a believer does not die with Christ, he will not live with Christ. If a believer does not suffer with Christ, he will not reign with Christ. Each of these verses teach a person must die and suffer in order to reign with Christ; Christ is not going to deny Himself if you are disobedient. This does not say although he believes not… Jesus still abides in him. (As you said in 2Tim. 2:13) If a believer strives for Eternal Life (the masteries) they will be saved or crowned (2Ti. 2:5). You must depart from iniquity because you are disobedient and will be gathered out of the body of Christ and cast into the furnace of fire (Mat.13).

If a believer faints, he has given up, this is why he will not reap eternal life (Rom. 2:7-9)

As I continue to read your writting, you and I are on two completely different pages of understanding scripture. You are not closely agreeing with what the scripture says in your interpetations; I showed you this above. You are intercepting without allowing scripture to interpret itself.

If you would like to continue, lets dissect one or two scriptures at a time, and maybe we can get a better understanding.

@JesusIs4Me ,
I'm going to address everything you mentioned, but let me ask you this question. Do you believe you are dead in Christ; and if so, from what?

I am dead to seeking justification from keeping the law by my will power in order to obtain my salvation.

Galatians 2:17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. 18 For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. 19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Are you dead from seeking justification from keeping the weekly sabbath?

Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. 16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

That sabbath days as in plural does include the weekly sabbath with the annual sabbath. God commanded the annual sabbath and not just the weekly sabbath so sabbath days plural includes those bith kinds of sabbaths.

17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. 18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, 19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God. 20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22 Which all are to perish with the using, after the commandments and doctrines of men? 23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body: not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

So if you are dead... and Jesus Christ is in you ( 2 Corinthians 13:5 ) and your body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit ( 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 ) , can you see His message in Matthew 12:1-7 for how and why all believers are guiltless for profaning the sabbath day? His righteousness apart from the law is now in you as Christ Jesus is in you and thus you have obtained salvation; you are His. Now if you come short of that rest in Jesus Christ by laboring in unbelief, then you will find out the hard way that you had been saved since you had come to and believed in Him at the calling of the gospel.

All that is require is to run that race by faith in Jesus Christ as the author and finisher of our faith to help us lay aside every weight & sin in living that reconciled relationship with God thru Jesus Christ to be received by the Bridegroom when He comes.... otherwise, those left behind as disqualified from the Marriage Supper in heaven, shall be resurrected later on after the great tribulation.

So run that race by faith in Him that you are saved or you are running that race in trying to obtain salvation by and thereby coming short of your rest in Jesus Christ and denying Him as your Saviour when you had been saved all along.

Verses that refers to being saved in context in the KJV are usually referring to running that race or to abide in Him to escape the fiery judgment that is coming on the 3rd of the earth which will set up the world for the coming great tribulation.

@JesusIs4Me,
You said my first reference, “Col.

There are 2 inheritances in the Kingdom of Heaven ; the vessels unto honor that are abiding in Him and those that did not depart from iniquity when the Bridegroom comes that will become castaways and thus vessels unto dishonor in His House.

Romans 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? 5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; 6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds: 7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: 8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: 11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

This same Paul is referring to the reward of obtaining that eternal glory of being that vessel unto honor in His House that comes with our salvation by departing from iniquity... thereby being received by the Bridegroom to attend the Marriage Supper in Heaven.

2 Timothy 2:10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: 12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: 13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

That is why even former believers are called to depart from iniquity because they still have His seal so that when they do look to Him for help, and discern the lies that turned them away from Him so they can believe in Him again, they can be received as vessels unto honor in His House when the Bridegroom comes.

2 Timothy 2:18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. 19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

This is how Jesus keeps His promise that He will lose nothing of all the Father has given Him and yet at the same time explain why and how not every saved believer will be ready when the Bridegroom comes. Luke 12:40-49 & Luke 21:33-36

John 6:39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

So former believers as well as unrepentant carnal believers are still saved because He abides in them as their last day will be after the great tribulation when they will be resurrected to serve the King of kings for the millennium reign of Christ. Their inheritance will not be glorious as the first fruit of the resurrection of those abiding in Him will be, but it is glorious in that even as vessels unto dishonor in His House, they testify to the power of God in salvation for all those that believe, even in His name.

So that is why the call to depart from iniquity is to obtain the eternal glory that comes with our salvation; but not salvation itself. To seek to save oneself by their merits is denying Jesus as their Saviour that they are saved, ad unless they repent, they will be castaways to find out the truth that they had been saved ever since at the calling of the gospel when they had forst come to & believed in Jesus Christ..

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. ....21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. .....26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: ....29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

See the past tense in verse 30? Then maybe you can see that you saved daved.. as in past tense in verses 18 & 21 so that those other verses you are using, you may see that as running that race to obtain the "eternal glory" that comes with our salvation where the firstfruit of the resurrection will be we shall be like the angels that never die; that is the eternal glory that comes with our salvation as inferring everlasting life whereas those left behind will have a glorified terrestrial inheritance where only the power of the second death is not over them, but the first death still does... until Jesus do away with the death at the very end when it and hades are cast into the lake of fire.

So that is why the eternal glory that comes with our salvation; that firstfruit of the resurrection is "everlasting life" for which we lean on Him for help all the time to help us endure in keeping our faith in Him in abiding in Him in bringing us Home.

Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. 21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: 23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

I have to say that because you believe you are not saved yet, you have moved away from your faith in Jesus Christ and has come short of that rest in Him.

Hebrews 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. 3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.....9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

So may He help you to see that you are saved so you can run that race by faith in Him to help you lay aside every weight & sin to obtain the eternal glory that comes with our salvation as well as attend the Marriage Supper in Heaven in His honor and to His glory.

@Life,

Ephesians 2:8, 9
For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Why do we as believers ignore what Jesus has done for us and reject His Gift? We accept Jesus paid the price of the penalty for sin, but we reject the gift; the freedom from the penalty of sin is not the gift! What is the "GIFT?"

Ephesians 2:4, 5
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we “were dead in sins," has quickened us (made us alive) together with Christ, (by grace you are saved) (Rom. 6:11, 12)

Greek definition of "saved":
G4982 σώζω [SW/ZW] {sṓzō} \sode'-zo\
from a primary σῶς [SW=S] {sōs} (contraction for obsolete σάος [SA/OS] {sáos}, "safe"); to save, i.e. deliver or protect (literally or figuratively):--heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole.

Saved from what? We are saved through the Mercy of God by Grace from sin. We "WERE" dead in sins; are we now made alive from sin yet still sin; after Jesus has saved us from sin?

1Co 15:14
And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

Our preaching that Jesus has come into the world to save men from sin is in vain (1Co. 15:3).

1Co 15:17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; you are yet in your sins.

Everyone that believes they sin are yet in their sins.

Titus 3:5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

What is the washing of regeneration? "The rebirth"
We've been washed from the sins of the old nature, by being born again into the Body of Christ, the new nature (Rom. 11:24; Col. 1:13). There are no sins in Christ; in the new nature (1Joh. 3:5). This must be understood by faith.

Greek definition of "regeneration":
G3824 παλιγγενεσία [PALIGGENESI/A] {palingenesía} \pal-ing-ghen-es-ee'-ah\
from 3825 and 1078; (spiritual) rebirth (the state or the act), i.e. (figuratively) spiritual renovation; specially, Messianic restoration:--regeneration.

We as believers must do as God has taught us. We must call those things which we know are not literal as though they were (Rom. 4:17). Abraham was called a Father of many nations, but he had no sons. His wife was barren. God taught Abraham to call those things which are not as though they were because it was so in God’s mind (Rom. 3:4).

Confession for sins is part of the work for the atonement of sins. No man can do any works for the atonement of sins in Jesus Christ. Under the Mosaic Law it was Israel's responsibility to work for their atonement of sins. Once they did this, they were justified and pardoned of their sins in God's eyes. However, under the New Covenant in Christ, no believer is justified or pardoned from sins by any work they may do according to the ritual under the Mosaic Law; the just shall live by faith of what Jesus has already done for sins.

Jesus Christ died unto sin once; believers also die unto sins one. This is done when they initially confess their sin unto Jesus Christ (once), agreeing with Him they are a sinner (1Joh. 1:9; Rom. 10:9, 10). They are then forgiven of their sins forever.

@JesusIs4Me,

The context of Ephesians 2 is not talking about saving soul unto Eternal Life. It's talking about saving souls from sin. Read Eph. 2:1-9.

I don't think it's understood that the priest under the Mosaic Law could not take away sins, tho they could forgive sins and God would not remember the people's sins. God would cast their sins as far as the east is from the west, never to remember their sins again.

Jesus came and did what the priest could not do and that was to take away man's sins once for all. Once for all mean, "forever."

Heb 10:11 And every priest stood daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

Heb 10:12 But this man (Jesus), after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God;

When the priest took away the believers sins they were cleansed of their sin until they sinned again. This is not how the New Covenant is established. Jesus took away sins with His blood and not the blood of bulls and goats which could not take away sin (Heb. 10:1-4).

Priest “COULD NOT TAKE AWAY SINS” and Jesus did “TAKE AWAY SINS.” What does take away mean?

G4014 (take away)
periaireō
From G4012 and G138 (including its alternate); to remove all around, that is, unveil, cast off (anchor); figuratively to expiate: - take away (up).

THIS HAPPENED ONCE FOR ALL TIME!

Rom 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

You must consider looking at this after the Spirit and not after the flesh. If you see sins after the flesh, you will see it after the Law of Moses. Jesus came and did something different. Jesus gave His life and blood instead of animal sacrifices and took "all" our sins upon Himself and gave us His Righteousness. If we are Righteous in God's eyes, He's made us Righteous once for all time. A person cannot be Righteous and a sinner at the same time. You are either dead to the one and alive to the other, but you cannot serve God and Satan in God's mind.

@Life,
Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Though this scripture talks about money, the money is the idol, but the spirit of Satan is the influence behind the love of the money. No man can serve God and Satan. A person that says they sin, is not serving God in their mind or in their action. They are serving the devil. A person that says they commit unfruitful works is serving God because they understand what God has done through faith. God will judge a believer by their faith. A believers faith will determine their confession.

Mat 12:37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

The believer is not looking at the flesh, imputing sin unto themselves. However, if they know they've committed and unfruitful work from their spirit, they will repent , turn away from the work and humble themselves in order to develop the character of Christ. They know God is not imputing sin or accounting a believer to have sinned; therefore, having peace. If God said you are dead to sin, you cannot be alive to sin. You are not in the flesh but in the spirit if God dwells in you (Rom. 8:9).

God sees a believer in the Spirit and not in the flesh.

@Life,

Sin is a work. A person that commits sins does a work in the flesh.

Jesus did the work in the flesh by taking every man's sins, as well as the curse.

Man's work in the flesh defiled his heart and condemned him to death.

The works of Jesus Christ healed every man’s heart and condemned sin in the body of His flesh.

If a Christian believes they do the works of sin, after Jesus Christ has paid the price for them, they do not have His mind. They believe a lie which keeps them from experiencing the true Life of Christ.

1 Corinthians 2:16
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

The blood of bulls and goats atoned for man's sins once a year.

The blood of Jesus Christ atoned for man's sins once and never again.

@Life,

1 John 3:9
Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

This says, "DOES NOT" sin.
This says, He "CANNOT" sin.

This does not say, "DOES NOT PRACTICE" sin.
This does not say, "CANNOT PRACTICE" sin.

G4160 ποιέω [POIE/W] {poiéō} \poy-eh'-o\
apparently a prolonged form of an obsolete primary; to make or do (in a very wide application, more or less direct):--abide, + agree, appoint, X avenge, + band together, be, bear, + bewray, bring (forth), cast out, cause, commit, + content, continue, deal, + without any delay, (would) do(-ing), execute, exercise, fulfil, gain, give, have, hold, X journeying, keep, + lay wait, + lighten the ship, make, X mean, + none of these things move me, observe, ordain, perform, provide, + have purged, purpose, put, + raising up, X secure, shew, X shoot out, spend, take, tarry, + transgress the law, work, yield. Compare 4238.

G4238 πράσσω [PRA/SSW] {prássō} \pras'-so\
a primary verb; to "practise", i.e. perform repeatedly or habitually (thus differing from 4160, which properly refers to a single act); by implication, to execute, accomplish, etc.; specially, to collect (dues), fare (personally):--commit, deeds, do, exact, keep, require, use arts.
See Greek 4160.

You are mixing what Christ has done for us in what we could not do in obtaining salvation by our merits and will power with sin a saved believer commits after his salvation. We are not the Christ. Jesus is. We still need Him since we are in this fallible flesh and thus it is possible for a saved believer to sin; otherwise Jesus would not teach us that prayer to the Father to forgive us of our trespasses as we are to forgive others. 1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

We have this promise...

1 Corinthians 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

So if it was not possible for us to still sin, why do we have need of this promise?

James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. 16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.

Why warn us believers unless it is possible for us to err and sin? If one sows to the works of the flesh, they will reap corruption. The wages of sin is physical death for the saved believer which is hy they need Him to depart from iniquity.

So there is a race to be run daily by faith in Jesus Christ to help us to follow Him, but not every saved beleiver is aware of the abundant life we can have in trusting Jesus Christ as our Good Shepherd to help us to follow Him.as His disciple.

Hebrews 12:1Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

1 John 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. .....8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

@JesusIs4Me,
Have you been redeemed from sin?
Do you know the difference between forgiveness and redemption?

Ephesians tells you what you've been saved from:
Eph 2:5
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

If you have been quickened (made alive with Christ), you have been quickened from sin. If you have been made alive from sin, you are no longer dead to sin. This is because you cannot sin. Instead of being dead in sins, you are dead to sin.

Rom 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Rom 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
What are you quickened and saved from by God's Grace?

If you sin you have not been redeemed?
If you sin you have not been made alive?
If you sin you are a sinner.
If you sin you are dead in your sins.
If you sin Grace has done nothing for you.

Israel was forgiven from their sins through the blood of bulls and goats, but they were never redeemed from their sin. Jesus redeemed man from sin by His blood once time.

JesusIs4Me,
Sin does not keep a person out of Heaven; it has been dealt with. A man's faithlessness does.
If you say you believe Jesus and do not the things He says, you do not have faith in His words. This is what will condemn you (Mat. 13:19-23).

I have been made alive in that I am no longer heading towards the second death which is the lake of fire simply by believing in Jesus Christ and that God had raised Him from the dead.

There is a race to be run still by looking to the author & finisher of our faith to help us lay aside every weight & sin to avoid being a castaway from attending the Marriage Supper in Heaven, but resurrected later after the great tribulation.

Even Paul cites the danger of not running that race as the risk is more than the loss of rewards of crowns but in being a castaway.

1 Corinthians 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

So did Paul know something you did not know? Looks like it to me.

One cannot be of the vine to be cut off unless they are saved.... and they are still saved, but failed to run that race by faith in Jesus Christ to help them lay aside every weight & sin and so disqualified from attending the Marriage Supper.

John 15:1I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

This is about discipleship; not obtaining salvation. This is about bearing fruit as His disciple so that our joy may be full.

Pretending that you can never sin again denies the promise from Him that if we do sin, we can go to Jesus Christ at that throne of grace so we can confess our sins to Him and He will cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

And denying our need for His help so we do not sin again is only delaying the inevitable because we will need to ask Him sooner or later for help not to do that sin again or else be living a lie while living in sin. By the grace of God we are saved and so by that same grace of God we live as His disciple, leaning on Him all the time for help in following Him.

@JesusIs4Me ,

This is a race of endurance. We have to endure in faith and bring forth fruit as we abide in Christ. If your faith is not developing in Christ you will not bring forth fruit. No fruit, no life.
If we are led by the spirit of God we will endure and obtain life because the Spirit of God will lead us to develop fruit. If we are not obedient to the Spirit and do not develop fruit, we will not obtain life.

Joh 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

Abiding in Christ can only be done through obedience to God's word. An unbeliever cannot be withered because they have not been made alive; they are already withered and dead. Only a believer can be withered and gathered out of the Kingdom of God Mat. 13:41).

You believe its sin I believe its unfruitful works. You hold on to what you believe, and I’ll hold on to mine. They both are works that a person must repent and turn away from.

It’s not about asking Jesus to give me something He’s already given me. God has already given me power over the devil through His word and His Spirit. It’s my responsibility to learn and be obedient to the word He's already given me.

Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

JesusIs4Me,
Sin does not keep a person out of Heaven; it has been dealt with. A man's faithlessness does.

Man's voiding faith in Him can also run the risk of being disqualified, but also unrepentant iniquity or unrepentant sin can also keep him out from attending the feast of fellowship in Heaven when the Bridegroom comes.

If you say you believe Jesus and do not the things He says, you do not have faith in His words. This is what will condemn you (Mat. 13:19-23).

Your reference of Matthew 13:19-23 does not really convey your statement. I know what you are paraphrasing, but not doing what He says does not always mean not having faith in His words; you may know His words and believe He meant that, and yet still sin when any believer puts their relationship with the Lord on a back burner and start living in the world and thus forgetting His words to live by.

That is where Matthew 13:19-23 comes in... they just don;t bear fruit, but they still have the seed and thus salvation. Better to abide in Him as His disciple t bear fruit than not.

This is a race of endurance. We have to endure in faith and bring forth fruit as we abide in Christ. If your faith is not developing in Christ you will not bring forth fruit. No fruit, no life.

We can't follow Him unless we have Him in us and thus have power to live as the sons of God

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

If we are led by the spirit of God we will endure and obtain life because the Spirit of God will lead us to develop fruit. If we are not obedient to the Spirit and do not develop fruit, we will not obtain life.

Life is hard and for some, harder than others.... but that is why Jesus Christ is in us and is with us always so we can turn to Him for help whenever we need Him.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. 14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 2:18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

JesusIs4Me,
Matthew 13 that I reference has to do with the sower of the seed through out. Three out of the four heart received the word of the Kingdom. Only one heart type had faith to continue and brought forth fruit some 30%, some 60% and 100%. Anything less than this is unbelief; which if you read the whole chapter are tares (Matt. 19-23). Stony ground was a believer and those on the thones were believers. They received the word, but became unfruitful and loved the world more than Righteousness.

As we develop in Christ we learn that it's only through the trials and tribulations that we are strengthened. Without trials you will not find your way in Christ.

1Co 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

G96 (castaway)
adokimos
From G1 (as a negative particle) and G1384; unapproved, that is, rejected; by implication worthless (literally or morally): - castaway, rejected, reprobate.

I disagree.

Having the seed is salvation, but not every saved believer will abide in Him as His disciples to bear fruit. That is how I am applying the sower of the seed.

@JesusIs4Me,
You do not believe a person can believe God in vain. You believe after a person confesses Jesus as Lord they are saved forever. You believe they have no responsiblity That's not the case. A person can receive Jesus in vain. They will know at the time of judgment when God will make manifest what is in the heart of man.

1Co 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand;
1Co 15:2 By which also you are saved, "IF" (conditionally) you keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless "you have believed in vain."

2Co 6:1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

As soon as an unbeliever receives God's word in their heart confessing Jesus is Lord, that person is saved. If they are not obedient to God's word and abide in Christ, they have believed in vain. They will stay in the body of Christ until God judges His church. Then they will have their part with the unbelievers and be partaker of God's wrath.

Eph 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

Unbelievers cannot be deceieed because they are already deceived. They also are not children of disobedience, only christians can obey God's word or become disobedient.
