I've have learned that most Christians are not what they are claiming. To b they only wanna speak to you if you agree with their views of their pastors and preachers
I've learned they are great at trying to hide the truth
They will call you names when you speak the Truth of the Word that they themselves are claiming. To follow
I am becoming sadder n sadder

I am becoming sadder n sadder
Just think how God feels.

And even Jesus expressed dismay -

Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
(Luke 18:8 KJV)

But @Twistie I have no intention to call you names, or call your salvation into question.

So then... what would you like to talk about ?? I'm sure that very few people agree with me, and that would include most pastors and preachers so I'm somewhat used to it. (Been kicked out of about eight churches.)

I've learned they are great at trying to hide the truth
Which truth do you think they are hiding? Doctrinal truth? Or just the nature of their character?

I will mention one thing, though, that a person's need to become defensive was amplified by Martin Luther having changed the basis of Salvation into being RIGHT. The Reformation did indeed transform the view of whether one is saved or not. One must be RIGHT - and believe the RIGHT things in order to be saved. With this in mind, what should one expect from a person who is then shown to be wrong?? Their very salvation is called into question (in their mind) and it's a common human trait to fight tooth and claw to "keep one's salvation," because otherwise one must suffer the deep pain of realizing that one might not have been saved all those years to begin with.

Is this what you've been encountering?

Kindly,
Rhema

Hello @Twistie,

You are not alone in this, for in Psalm 73 Asaph expressed sadness, for he had been looking both 'within' (ie., at his own condition) and 'without' (ie., at others around him) instead of looking 'up', as you, with respect, are also doing,

Only by keeping our eyes stayed on things above, and to our Saviour, now sat at God's right hand, interceding for us before the Father, can we be kept within the joy of our salvation. For it is there that our hope lies, in Christ our risen Lord, as we 'look ' for His appearing.

Paul's words to Timothy, when he was surrounded by strife and argument was to urge him to, 'Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. By so doing, Timothy would be lifted up above the strife of tongues, and resting on the solid ground of God's truth, and be at peace.

With love to you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

'Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about
with so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight,
and the sin which doth so easily beset us,
and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;
Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame,
and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
For consider Him that endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself,
lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.'
(Heb 12:1-3)

Hi @Twistie,

I know how it feels to be so full of the wonder and joy at what God has done through Christ Jesus, His beloved Son, that I have wanted to tell everyone, but when I have tried, I have found the same opposition as you have received. Be strong and of a good courage, be not dismayed, neither be dismayed, for the Lord thy God is with you.

With love in Christ Jesus
our risen and glorified
Saviour, Lord and Head.

The official count is that I have been excommunicated from 12 specific churches of which I was an active member. The best one was where the pastor took me out for breakfast to show me the left boot of fellowship, and I quote, "Churches are like buses, there's always another one coming." True story. The first one was in high school when the pastors learned I was using a New Testament Greek interlinear instead of the KJV and had also decided to attend a non-church-elder-approved university.

As I got older, I realized there was no need to wait to be shown the door, but those were churches in which I was an active Participant, as opposed to a Visitor who merely wanted to learn more. There are still several places I plan to visit once Covid settles down, not the least of which is the mother church of Swedenborg in Philadelphia. (@Christ4Ever - FIELD TRIP !! :p )

I would love to find someone to share what's has been being revealed with out being called names
Sometimes we need to realize that most Christians have a spirit of fear within them (this fear of being WRONG because of the Reformation) and we need to be kind. Given that, we also need to realize that many Christians, if not most, are unable to engage in discussion where they might be found to be wrong. Biblical scholars will now tell you the consensus is that the number of the Beast is 616 (cf. Daniel Wallace et. al.), but that will likely freakout the common believer.

If there's a specific topic that you feel might be "too much" for an open forum, please feel free to start a PM thread with me. As an innocuous example, Jesus actually traveled to Spain - that's where the country of the Gadarenes is located. Sometimes you'll find a believer who is truly interested, most times you won't, especially if a topic is just too radical.

I have an amazing testimony of what I was. Brought out of but idk
I'd love to hear it. Again, if you're unsure, then just send me a PM.

Best to use a word processor first. Write your story, save it, then copy and paste to a post - just in case you get near the end of typing and the forum crashes. You know,...

Thanks

Dear Sister,
It's not surprising that this is happening. We live in an ever-darkening world. Where there is deception galore that goes on, both in and out of the physical church! :(
It tells me something about you that it touches your spirit so. The tender heart of the believer that knows the love of the Lord and hurts for those who don't. Are more frequently found in women then in men. So, they have a tendency to be affected more by the behaviors you are seeing then men would. Most men, expect it, and so are not disappointed when they come face to face with it. Oh, there are tender spirited men out there, who at night on bended knees will let it out to our Heavenly Father, but in general will keep it to themselves. Seeking fellowship in men's groups with others who have gone through like experiences.

You remind me of my wife. She could never find fellowship with other ladies in the different churches we have attended. My heart would go out to her because of this, since wherever Church we found ourselves in I would find myself able to find someone to talk too. At the very least to share my love of the Lord with.

I guess you coming to Talk Jesus was for a reason!!! Just remember that even in the darkening world we are living in, we're not alone...no never alone!!!! So, as difficult as it can be, try to be like Paul who wrote to the church in Philippi. And this from a man in Prison, and meant it too, that he repeated it twice!!!

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Philippians 4:4 NKJV

So, I'm not going to let anyone take my joy away from me, and you shouldn't either!!! We have too much to look forward to and being with our Lord & Savior I would put at the top of the list!!!

Oh, by the way. I was stationed in Altus in the early 70's for a couple of years. I once told my wife I didn't even want to fly over the state even. Too afraid it might crash and I'd be stuck there!! :-) Of course that was before I received the Lord as my Savior!! \o/

Anyway, got to go. God bless, and you'll be in my prayers that you might find a God fearing, Word Loving, and tender fellowshipping Church/Body of Christ to receive/give to!
You have Brothers & Sisters in Christ Jesus here at Talk Jesus who I pray will also fellowship with you!

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

Like they speak half Truths I guess would b the correct way of saying it n when one questions them they get angry? I guess that's the emotion they r experiencing since the name calling will usually start
Many I think don't realize who they r IN Him idk

I don't know how to use any of that stuff
Sorry, by PM I mean what is called "Start Conversation."

If one hovers over my Avatar picture, a popup will show the hieroglyphic of a square text balloon (or call out).

Twistie you are being shape more into image of Christ that’s all.
The more mature you become and being shape by your Father the more pain and The Stronger The Anointing just do not faint. “Trust in THE WORD of GOD” go from belief to “TRUST”.in THE Written WORD of GOD.
ASB 1977
He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their face, He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

Php 3
7But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. 8Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11if, by any means, I may attainPhilippians 3 NKJV to the resurrection from the dead.

Your Maturity comes by Righteous suffering. Enduring the pain and rejection. And the TRUTH, Which is “The LIGHT” hurts. Because it shines into The Darkness and reveals what is hidden.
You are just seeing The TRUTH. And it is painful.

The one question I ask others is have you found yourself in Him n 99 percent of the time I don't get an answer idk i just don't know anymore✌

Have you ever wondered about a former believer that would wind up denying Him about how He is abiding in them still 100% of the time? Unless they look to Him for help to see the lies that turned them away from Him, they are at risk of being denied by the Bridegroom when He comes and they get left behind, but yet He abides in them still. That is why we are still to call them to depart from iniquity so that they may obtain the eternal glory that comes with our salvation in Christ Jesus of being that vessel unto honor in His House, the vessel of gold & silver, to be received by the Bridegroom, rather than denied by the Bridegroom for being in iniquity & left behind to die, only to be resurrected after the great tribulation as being that vessel unto dishonor in His House, vessels of wood & earth, to serve the King of kings on earth.

2 Timothy 2:10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him: 12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: 13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. 19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

So a believer may not be abiding in Him 100% of the time, but He is abiding in us 100% of the time because we are always Spirit-filled since salvation as a testimony from God that we are saved.

Matthew 9:17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

Remember this promise from Jesus below?

Matthew 5: 6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

This was fulfilled when any sinner comes to & believe in Jesus Christ for why they will never hunger nor thirst again to be filled with the Spirit after salvation.

John 6: 35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

So the question to ask others isn't really about if they are in Him 99 % of the time, but if they know they are complete in Christ since salvation since having come to & believed in Him?

Colossians 2:5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. 6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

With Him in us 100% of the time, there is only running that race by faith in Jesus Christ as our Good Shepherd to help us to abide in Him & His words in following Him by laying aside every weight & sin daily in walking in the light fellowship with the Father & the Son.

Hebrews 12:1Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

1 Corinthians 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: 27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

Did you know you were complete in Christ 100 % of the time since you had come to & believed in Him at the calling of the gospel?

Matthew 12: 39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Hebrews 12:1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.

Galatians 3: 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. ... 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
