Glad to make your acquaintance Devora, I would begin reading the new testament, taking your time, maybe one chapter at a time. And after each chapter, think about how those words might be teaching "you" specifically something (christians call that devotions). And then since the bible is God's words to mankind, in prayer, respond to God in what you think those verses are teaching you, and to ask Him if you are correct in your assumption of what they mean for you. Then thank Him in prayer and go on with your day, every once in awhile during that day, if not positive about what the scripture meant for you is clear, ponder it a bit when you have a bit of free time.
Once you have finished the new testament, start on the old testament. God bless you sister.
