My parents told me about being Christian and my beliefs were never mine alone. Now I am trying to build a relationship with Jesus because the time is right. I'm making this decision and not being told I have to if that makes sense.
 
Welcome to Talk Jesus, Devora! Nice to meet you. Thanks for sharing a lil about yourself and your desire to have a closer walk with the Lord. He will surely be pleased in this longing of your heart, and I know that He will be faithful to you as you “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness...” I hope you’ll enjoy your stay here. Glad to make your acquaintance Devora, I would begin reading the new testament, taking your time, maybe one chapter at a time. And after each chapter, think about how those words might be teaching "you" specifically something (christians call that devotions). And then since the bible is God's words to mankind, in prayer, respond to God in what you think those verses are teaching you, and to ask Him if you are correct in your assumption of what they mean for you. Then thank Him in prayer and go on with your day, every once in awhile during that day, if not positive about what the scripture meant for you is clear, ponder it a bit when you have a bit of free time.

Once you have finished the new testament, start on the old testament. God bless you sister.
