New Ideas / Features for Talk Jesus Forums (April 2013)

Greetings folks,

Coming up with some new ideas for Talk Jesus to keep things exciting, fresh and relevant.

The focal point of the forums is to spread the Gospel to the ends of the Earth and edify the church body

Please let me know what you think by voting! If you have any ideas or suggestions, hit that reply button and let me know what your thoughts are.

Explanations of Features:

Audio Chat - useful for organized bible studies
Video Chat - useful for a personal interaction with other members
Merchandise - useful for evangelizing and spreading the Talk Jesus site to others
Video Sermons - a personal, exciting and unique way of watching sermons from others around the globe

The forum is great just as it is

However, I voted yes to all the points (except the merchandise)
The video chat and sermons could be great resources to share the Word and the love of our Lord Jesus.
It could make the fellowship of the brothers and sisters who meet here so much more 'real'
As stated in the poll it would have to be very carefully moderated, as it could potentially be risky for the vulnerable.

I have been put off joining other Christian forums in the past due to the member photo avatars....some of which have been either crude or blatantly evil in appearance. This may sound silly or judgmental but to 'old fashioned me' a picture can say a lot. Again with careful moderation, as I'm sure would be the case here, I think it would be a good idea.

I would prefer the photo avatars Chad.

I am always so surprised when I see a photo of a member
that I have conversed with. You form a mental image of the
person your talking with, but when you see their portrait.
It adds another dimension to the interaction on the subjects
of discussion.

At times I have wondered who is it I am talking to?
Photos sure will assist in developing the relationships at TJ.

I voted for merchandise because not only would I wear it, but in doing so others would see it and ask about Talk Jesus and that may lead to others coming and checking out the forums and becoming members. I Think Talk Jesus is great the way it is. We appreciate you brother Chad and all you have done for Talk Jesus.

I like the video sermon idea, the only thing is that we will critique and correct them, which may offend someone. But we brothers and sisters are to sharpen eachother!

They had 1000s in yahoo chat but closed them all ! But it was a good place to preach the gospel ! i had gone to all the muslim rooms ! Preaching about God ! They would All stop talking and pasting and listen and want the Joy and peace of god and Hear how much the Lord LOVED THEM ! In each room at the end i would then tell of Salvation and our Lord Jesus christ ! Then of course a couple would get very upset ! But most listened ! Not sure how many accepted , our LORD Free Gift of salvation ?

But there were always problem with , some unsaved in the christian chat rooms ? But I think many wanted Salvation and the truth !

Salvation is a Eternal work and most important to mankind and us to Give the Good news !

Many churches today , no longer tell of Salvation [Being Born -again ] It Should be Told at Every service !

Video and audio chats can be a good thing in some cases, but requires huge amounts of storage space especially if a retention system is implemented. The sale of merchandise can be useful to offset operational expenses (hardware, software, ISP connections, and electricity cost money). But, the sale of merchandise can send mixed signals, too. As for avatars, many already use one in the form of a logo which signifies their ministry focus. The world as we know it offers many possibilities, but some wisdom must be applied. As the saying goes: it's difficult to remember when surrounded by alligators that your initial objective is to drain the swamp. Phil 4:8.

I think the mercindise would be nice ,but would want to be able to account for the income and how it was put back into the Kingdom.accountability is need to prevent the spirit of annanias and sopfhira . In the body and leader ship .every body or church should be able to help support the kingDom Of God and prosper to do so at Gods hand....Rev

I think However You run the site is between You and our LORD JESUS! Listen He wanted you to start and run this site ! He with you and that all that is important !
I love you chad and bless you and your household in the mighty name of our LORD JESUS CHRIST! You only need to pray and ask the Holy Ghost to lead you in everything you do man ! It does not matter what any of us think !
God did not lead us to start and or run it ! He just allows us to be a part of it !

I agree Chad please don't take my post about merchandise wrong ..I fully trust the Lords guidance in this ministry and His use of you In it...it's my own conviction for accountability in ministries that has been formed by many pastors teachings and the Bible on that where money is concerned ..I Know God will give the wisdom needed ...in Love ...Rev

Nothing is More important to Mankind than Salvation ! It Free and easy ! we just accept His gospel He preached in Hell as truth and Him as LORD from our Heart [Spirit]

This should be All of our goal! But of course we also want to see the true church to know the truth and walk in His power and understanding !

The eternal works are the important works !

LESS of the nice pretty smelling church y phrases, pictures and all the religious stuff! Lets talk real, you know, let it smell a little, lets see what REAL is about, sit and dine with sloppy eaters, after all this site is about Jesus-not religion!
In other words, let someone say why they quit attending church? Maybe even allow for expression for those fed up or those in severe need------but this may mean words such as "crap" jack ***--
maybe change name-----------Lets Talk Real=get to the dirt, hurt ,smelly , we on Jesus turf

Judgements. Whether we like to admit it nor not, we do make judgements of others based on our perceptions of what is right and wrong. That is an inescapable fact of life. Where we cross the line is when we decide that someone is worthy of going to Hell simply because of our pride.
