Hi, my name is Faith
and I would like to know your opinion on this question.

Anyway
Do you think that Lord can use internet dating servis for His will?
Or isn´t it better to pray and wait for the real meeting of "your future wife/husband"?
Do you have any examples or know any storries about people who meet by this servis and now they are calm, happy, loving family?
Or isn´t it something like unpatient Christianity?
I totally rejected this way of knowing this kind of God´s will by using christian dating servis, but right know... I am not sure if I totally reject it or no.
I am so confused

I have a Christian friend who met a Christian guy from Australia using an on-line dating service, and they are now happily married and have been for a few years now. As long as you are very careful, and listen to God each step of the way I see no reason why He wouldn't use the internet.

A sister of a friend of mine, met her husban by th internet too. And, they are very blessed.
I think internet can be a way for God to let us meet our soulmate, but I think this method doesnt work for me at all... I need to have a relationship but close, I mean talk to that person face to face, see his face when I'm talking to him, details that i just need.
So, I don't know if the internet is in God's plan for me, but at the time, I rather the old way xD...

u r right, sunshine307.
I even try to find my soulmate by on-line dating.:shade:
I think it doesn't matter as long as we can take care our self but don't forget to pray first so we can know His will.

God bless

well , me thinks , there is no hard and first rules to meeting people. God can use which ever means he deems fit to connect his people.if he can use a donkey to warn baalam about an impending danger then surely he can use anything and internet is not an exception.it's not that you are marrying off yourself , but you are only having a contact point. then you can schedule a meeting to meet formally and thrash out your issues, i had misgivings initially about , but i only realizes hey!- it only getting contacts which you can as well in a bus , plane or elavetor, from thence it up to you to use your God given dicernment to judge the person.so don't be in rush to get some one but reach out as a friend first and who knows, the ways of the lord are past finding? does any one concur with me?

I have trouble on this because i think that when you meet someone online especially if they are in another country it can be extremely difficult. I know a girl who i met on a date site she wants me to visit her. I would like to do it but am scared we might not get along or even be able to communicate effectively. I also feel ashamed when people ask me what i am doing when im on the web page. does this make it bad?

Hello,
Let me first draw your attention on this Bible verse: what is not the fruit of a conviction is sin. meanwhile, it is however true that the lack of knowledge about a particular topics, may be the reason given birth to the absence of conviction.
As for me, I don't think the internet dating will be profitable to you. I am trying to pretend that I know you, but this remark is simply the result of what I am able to read behind your text. Therefore, my first advice to you will be to stop worrying about this issue, and take more time in prayer about that. As you will learn to depend more and more on God, you will be amazed by what will happen in your life.
Fell free to take these words as a message from the Lord, and you will not be put to shame.

well-I was 13-young age-and I dated a christian boy over the internet-it honestly dident work out being such a young age, I can see it working out if you are much older. thats all I can say-but if your my age now-15-or younger..or even a year older-I say dont do online dating-God has someone out for you. just pray-and if it is someone you meet on line-YEE HAW-you found him:) if its God given.

So funny. The bible did not specify where a man would find...instead it says "He who findeth a wife"...it doesnt matter where it is.If you dont feel comfortable with it dont do it OK?!

God is bigger than our culture or believes moreso when they are not based on His word...so what matters most is finding peace in your heart whenever you meet anybody on the internet and i think in doing this you know where to go(here may be one of those good places i guess???).:shade:

So you've got to check your motive...the bible says all good and perfect gift comes from the lord in whom there no variables or casting shadows...so if it's real u'll know.we know THESE THINGS because we have the mind of Christ.Praise God!!!

If God wants you to have a companion he will send one your way. I have heard to many horor stories of online dateing to ever tell anyone to do it. Thats just how I feel about it.

I agree with you...but you know what? The blble says be as gentle as a dove But AS WISE AS A SERPENT...can you see...If someone is playing pranks or has a fake disposition ,with the help of the Holy spirit,u'll discover...so BE WISE..Christ has been made unto us the wisdom of God

I guess I am oldfashioned, and do not have a trusting nature of the internet dateing world. The devil comes in many guises and those who are imature christians ( new Christians ) may be decived , and drawn in by someone evil.

I think of this one:

Matthew 19:26
But Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

When I think of how decietful satan is these verses come to mind....

2 Corinthians 11:13-15

13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

But our Jesus Christ, our GOD is THE Almighty powerful one. satan is defeated so therefore, GOD has power in what His will is for our lives and will do anything that pleases Him and gives Him glory. There is nothing satan can do to stop the work of the Lord when we are obedient to Him and serve Him fully

Thats true and I agree 100 percent.. As I stated earlier the christian that is new I think is the most vunurable when it comes to online dateing , because there are decievers who may take advantage . Any new christian is a prime target for satan as it makes him angry when another lost child becomes a child of God. I have wittnessed young christians in their begining steps with the Lord come under attack . Thats all I was trying to convey , others may feel internet dateing is alright I myself do not , because of the reasons I have stated.

Thank you sister for your response. As a matter of fact, I was victim to some deceit through online dating but it was a lesson learned. Basically, grab proof of the person claiming to be who they are before any further actions.

Do live webcam chat to see the person, live and real up front. This means any photos they show you, you'll know they are for real.

Pray for GOD's will be done and for guidance by the Holy Spirit.

Follow Your Heart

The internet can be good or can be bad for dating, and yet I would say it you truly trust & believe in my Lord Jesus Christ then wait for Hi direction as He will guide yo to your ideal partner. If you don't then you could be asking for trouble as people can be very deceiving, and there is a serious danger here, but it is your decission at the end of the day, if it was me I would trust in my Lord before anything else. Jesus is Your Guide Trust in Him.

I totally agree my brother from Ireland lol! Words of wisdom indeed!! laura
