The Menorah was to burn all night, and in the morning, the high priest (Aaron) would come in to trim the wicks and prepare the Menorah for the evening lighting. The Menorah was all about “Light” in the words “from Morning to evening” (the lamps of the Menorah were to burn” we can see the Hebrew word “Ad” (ayin and dalet) The Menorah had seven branches, it was made of pure gold, the middle branch was called the “Shamash” or the “helper”.

It's interesting that JESUS called His angel, in fact an archangel, to sent the content of the book of Revelation to John in Patmos. By the way, it was a sealed book which GOD the Father had kept in secret(Ezekiel 2:9-10) to be revealed in the future as we can see described in Revelation 5. Take a look, I highlight verses 1&5to7.
Having received from JESUS this mission to go to Patmos as a "helper", as above said brother Avraham in his post, "the middle branch was called the “Shamash” or the “helper”, so the archangel positioned himself behind John and spoke with a great voice, as of a trumpet, saying to John: Write the things which thou has seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;
So John himself described how this WONDERFUL event took place: Revelation 1:9 to 20 reveal how IT WAS:
9 - I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the Word of GOD
(the Word is GOD) -, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ
(the testimony of JESUS is the Spirit of prophecy) .
10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
(i.e. John was caught and brought to this current time of Apocalypse, i.e. this current seventh and last Day, the LORD's Day, or seventh and last millennium, and he heard a voice behind him),
11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and,
What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
(The things which John wrote to the seven Churches of Asia were familiar things John had seen happening within the seven Churches. Under the command of the archangel, John wrote the things which he had seen, and the things which were within the Churches around the first century of the LORD's Church. By the way, five(5) of the seven(7) angels of the Churches were reproved, as described in Revelation chapters 2 and 3.)
12 And I John turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
13 And in the midst
(in the middle branch) of the seven candlesticks one like (similar) unto the Son of man (the archangel), clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

14 His head and his hairs were white like wool
(Ancient of days), as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
16 And he had in his right hand seven stars(seven angels of the Churches): and out of his MOUTH went a sharp twoedged Sword
(Word of GOD-Hebrews 4:11-12- the Word is GOD- and this event is similar to with what occurred with Joshua-Joshua 5:13- when he saw the archangel over against him with his Sword drawn in his hand):
and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
(the Sun is the Greater Light-JESUS- and the Light of JESUS was shining in the face of the archangel since JESUS sent him to Patmos, something like ocurred with Moses when he came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony-Exodus 34:29-30. Take a look).
17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
(The archangel said these things under the authority of JESUS, as an ambassador representing the Person of JESUS. By the way, the same occurred in mount Sinai, when he said to Moses: I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God-Exodus 3:6 combined with Acts 7:30-33. Take a look, it's important to check up it.)
20 The MYSTERY of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.
The description above was revealed by JESUS around 65 years after His ascension
(first century), the Temple of Jerusalem was already destroyed, the people of Israel was I would say banned of their land and was spread around the world, and it lasted until 1948, 1878 years of severe punishments according Deuteronomy 28:15-68, the antichrist was developed even within the Churches-1John 2:18-19-

But he who was with John in Patmos in the name of JESUS, he is with us too, and it is he who makes the WAR of the Lord, and does Judge.
