Please help create a list of things we need to watch out for with false teachers

Yes, our faith is seen by our works. But it's Not works that save us.

The biggest difference between Calvinism, and Armianism, this usually goes back to "once saved - always saved".

It's true, works to do save us. On that statement we agree. Arminians believe we have to maintain our salvation.
You gave me the car for free. But I still have to put gas and oil in it from time to time. The car does me no good if I never drive it.

Your statement "our faith is seen by our works" implies that works have to be done in order for anyone to "see" a persons faith.

American Standard Version
And as for you, the anointing which ye received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any one teach you; but as his anointing teacheth you; concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, ye abide in him.
John 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
1 Corinthians 2:12
We have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.

You might have to proclaim "the Gospel of Jesus Christ" to sinners. But "The True children of God" has a teacher that teaches the things of God than No Man Can Teach them. For God Himself takes that Honor and He share HIS glory with no other. Says the very Word of God. But man will also try to explain that Truth away. And that will make them a "false teacher". If any man tries to take that honor upon themselves, it is no more than the Pride of life.

Why are you bringing Calvinism / Armianianism into the discussion. I'm not either one of these. I don't believe we have to do anything to maintain our salvation. Once the Holy Spirit comes to indwell us --upon our salvation -- He won't leave us.

I think you miss-typed -- you Meant It's true, works do Not save us. On that statement we agree.

Okay -- I'm being given a car for free. Salvation. The Holy Spirit gives me the desire To please God. To Do Godly things. And, yes, a car Does need gas and oil to drive well. And a believer needs Bible reading on a regular basis and prayer -- talking to God and Christian fellowship. To encourage each other. We Need those things to enrich our spiritual life.

If a born again believer is content to just sit around and not do Anything. then there would be an indication of a lack of salvation. Our Christian life Should be reflecting a Christ-like life. But it's not to ensure my salvation.

We Do have the Holy Spirit teaching us as we read Scripture. But that doesn't negate the fact of believers receiving various spiritual gifts upon salvation. And one of those gifts is that of being able To explain Scripture in a clearer way than others can. That's Also a reason to be listening carefully to what is being explained. If a teacher is presenting Scripture in error, then they need to be approached about it -- in good taste. . Or in an adult group -- a man Should be able to question the teacher -- for clarification -- that's a good way To learn.

I'd have to disagree with your conclusion.

Yes it is true "Arminians" has describe you must work for your salvation, [you must keep pedaling your bicycling or you go to hell" and "IF thou believe on the Lord Jesus thou MIGHT get saved" so if you cannot keep up with the pace you will lose it"

Calvinism, says salvation is given and not earn, it is a gift, and God will keep His promise, He will bring you to birth. He will accomplish your salvation unto the end. and Nothing can pluck you out of my hand, for I Am stronger than all. "For I Am The LORD GOD ALmighty" For You was bought with a price, with The blood of My SON. You do not belong unto yourself, you are purchased, And "Sealed" air tight and Nothing can break that Seal, because It has been SEALED by My SPIRIT. And Me AND MY Spirit are ONE and we are always in agreement. My Son blood is so POWERFUL, it has the POWER to Redeem the Whole World. No matter How far it has to run. It will accomplish the mission I sent it to do. It will accomplish My will and not the will of a man. My Will Superedes all Wills and I Am not bound by LAWS I Created LAWS. I have no Boundaries! I do as I pleases for I AM GOD. The "TETRAGRAMMATON"!

Note: that is "True Calvinism" summary" and not the short version of a mere "5 points" that The "Synod of Dordrecht" in defense of The 5 points presented by " THe Remonststrance 1619" lead by Simon Episcopius. "The Armianian controversy"
For Jacobus Arminius had long been dead before these issue had come up.

I do and have a copy in my library and read the "The Remonststrance of 1619" and know how the 5 points came into defense of "The Bible" against the 5 points of the presentation of the scjhooled of thoughts lead by a past student of "Jacobus Arminiuis" who is "Simon Episcopuis". I have study also "Jacobus Armininius" and How he praise the work of "JohnCalvin" and that he recommended the Commentary work of John Calvin on the Bible is the best and recommended it to all , who wanted to a true student of the BIBLE.

So I tell you all why, A lot of leaders do not want students to know John Calvin, is because He takes the teaching of the Bible out of their hands, And Put the Teaching of the Bible into The Hands of God the Father guided by the very SIPIRT of GOD! They hate John Calvin for that! JOHN Calvin point you to the BIBLE and not to a man teacher> Once you are saved YOU Have your treacher! God will not fell you, Trust HIM! Put you trust in GOD and Not A Man!

And this world Hates Him for it! Most of of The Institutional Church hates him for this, especially the RCC.

Stop Listening unto the Lies of Men! Seek God for yourself! Mankind is evil! It is a reason why GOD Will destroy Mankind as we know it, Think, why would GOD do Such A thing! just because a man just will not believe in His Son. God will cast him into the lake of Fire forever. just for not believing in God.
THINK! Most Christian have not the simplest understand what happen unto mankind in that Garden. Mankind will find out, when the "Restrainer" has been taken out of the way! They will find out what a real beast is. And we got all of these true christians half reading their Bibles and not going on unto Sanctification and Hoilness. Then our brothers and sisters in Christ through out the centuries has attacked and murdered one another who have called those to move on unto Sanctification and hoilness , claiming it cannot be done. but in the same breath claiming "I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strenghtens me" a lot of "Christians are asleep in the light" and they do not have the clearest sight, of what i am saying. They are so many that are "wells without water"! and they call the righteous evil. Apostle Paul was Plague by many, in the church outside of the Church'.

(1 Cor.15).
32If after the manner of men I fought with beasts at Ephesus, what doth it profit me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for to-morrow we die. 33Be not deceived: Evil companionships corrupt good morals. 34Awake to soberness righteously, and sin not; for some have no knowledge of God: I speak this to move you to shame.

Many here will be saying: what is he taking about: why will they say that; Because the veil is still on them. and when they received the "Holy Spirit" they ran off a nd I said; I know, i know, i know. and because, It was our leaders who did this to us. I have always feared this garment. I fear this verse.

GOD'S WORD® Translation
"How horrible it will be for you, scribes and Pharisees! You hypocrites! You cross land and sea to recruit a single follower, and when you do, you make that person twice as fit for hell as you are.:

I declare I am not a "Teacher of the bible"' I have been ask to speak a many of times and lecture. by request. and I have not taken on this "honor' for myself and if I have ,I "repent' and ask God to forgive me of my wickedness right now. I do consider my self a pointer to Read the Bible for yourself. and ask God to teach you the truth and not me. i am just a mere mortal. full of errors. i know I will be judge for every empty word that i have spoken, i know i have warn men of the wrath that is to come, i know i have given testimony of the events of my conversion, and have claim i had nothing to do with it, but i have given all the glory to GOD, for this is also recorded in the "Books". I give God the Father all credit. even by own belief in His Son i take no credit for it. this is recorded as well, by my own words. And also witness by the "Holy Ghost" of God. And that the only thing i can bring to GOD is my sins and "Hope". For God knows my Hope.

I wonder if you consider James a false teacher?

James 2:17; Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.
James 2:18; But someone may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”
James 2:19; You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.
James 2:20; But are you willing to recognize, you foolish fellow, that faith without works is useless?

James 2:24; You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.
A quick blinker of Light. I do see your work of Fatih B-A-C. By your research, of depthness into God's word's and the thoughts you produce. And the acceptness of others by doing reasearch after hearing others thoughts. The work of a true "Berean". that is beloved of GOD!
How you like those works of James:p

(1 Cor.2 ).
15But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, and he himself is judged of no man. 16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. One of the grestest work a true believer can do for another true believer is to be a "Reminder" of what God has said to us. What he has said to one He has said to the other, for we are One body in Christ. "Father I pray that they may be one as we are One."

(John 17). [Jesus prayer to His Father, and this is also the will of the Father, "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven"]

20“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— 23I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

And PloughBoy has said: And this is my will, that we all may be One.

@PloughBoy -- I do Not hate John Calvin or Mr. Arminias. They have their views of Scripture that have definitely caught on with people // Calvinism vs Armenianism. Both views Are in Scripture. But Scripture needs to be taken as a whole -- so why not just ignore That and read Scripture for ourselves. The sealing function of the Holy Spirit is definitely Scriptural. Once we are saved -- the Holy Spirit Does come immediately to indwell us and promises to keep us safe in Christ until we are with Him for ever.

Signs of false teachers, known by their fruit:

The fruit of a false teacher is self centeredness, it doesn’t matter how biblical his doctrines are, it doesn’t matter how well behaved he is in front of a crowd, or how prominent he is in his church, if he is using the word of God for his own ambition, material gain, to elevate himself above others, he is a false teacher. He is in it for himself, the classical narcissist with a charm. Specifics of a false teacher includes but is not limited to the following:

1) Everyone speaks well of him and he has an impeccable public (false) image. Jesus said woe to you when all men speak well of you, because false prophets are the ones whom EVERYONE lauds.
2) Peddling the word of God for profit (instead of freely give what was received as Jesus commanded)
3) Unable to accept objections or questions to his doctrines, uses his spiritual authority to issue curses or threats against opposers of his teachings
4) Lives extravagant lives and allows the poor and needy in his own congregations and community to continue in their suffering.
5) Only talks about grace and love, never preaches about sin and repentance, does not provide godly discipline to his church. Instead he comforts his flock who are stuck in the bondage of sin and lies to them that they are forgiven even if they are stuck in their sin perpetually.
6) Self indulgent lifestyles, storing up treasures here on earth rather than in heaven. The rich among the early church who truly believed shared their wealth with the church as recorded in the Book of Acts.
7) Lord it over others rather than act as servants and examples to his flock.
8) Loves and seeks the praises and admiration of people, flatters others for his own benefit
9) Likes to keep a high profile for his ministry and charity deeds, to boost his own fame and positive image

James 2:24 is a bible difficulty. I figured it out but I don't have the time or money to publish my book.

You interpret the Bible based on the clear and easy to understand verses first and use the easy and clear verses to interpret the hard to understand verses.

So if people say that they did many wonderful works as an evidence then Jesus can say He never knew them.

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

One thing I notice about Jesus... He never went looking for trouble with the Pharisees.
They always came looking for Him. They tested Him, accused Him, asked Him questions, etc...
Now Jesus didn't back down from them, He told them how it was, but He didn't go looking for them.

It seems on YouTube, we have a number of people who don't really preach much about what
they believe, but their entire existence seems to be for "exposing" what is wrong with everyone
else's teaching.

I suppose there is a time for calling out people (I've done it myself). But is that your sole mission?
If people confront you or cross path with you, fine. But do we need to go looking for these people?
I have to wonder what kind of person watches a dozen different sermons every week just to find
what is wrong with them?
Actually in the Bible it say to expose others false teaching to warn followers. It's in there.
