The intention was to talk about AI issues relating to biblical end times. Although I'm not a fan of the vatican in general, the pope is a very influential figure on spiritual matters.
Very important observation. Jesus should be our rock in any important matter. What's the gist of the encyclical regarding AI?

I was actually defending your post when I was asking if we were talking Catholics or AI. Because I felt we were talking about a good subject AI
As far as how the church is reacting to the encyclical, it depends on what circles you're involved with.
The conservatives like myself are a little bit frustrated that he never brought up the subject of putting your faith in God on any of it.
But the majority like his issue about the AI in the first place.
Aside from the Catholic churches views on these things. I too, feel that the AI is a great concern.
There are a number of companies that have all sorts of " Entertainment " using AI platforms, they are out there to titillate the mind. And to Warp people's thinking through it taking people to all levels of depravity that possibly can go through a person's mind.
I have talked to a few priests, friends of mine and that deal with people that are caught up in these things and it is insane how dark this entertainment has become. The whole Focus of the companies that make this type of entertainment is supposed to be on collecting information on personality and so on, but from what I understand because people are so easily swayed thinking that they are hidden from The Eyes Of God so to speak. That they have no problem going in the most depraved areas that you can possibly imagine.
Jesus tells us, that it is sinful to lust. Even thinking about it.
So all these people are lusting over imaginational characters Way Beyond anything that you would consider normal.
To me this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to everything to do with AI .
I mean this is just one Avenue of the influence that AI has.

Even more scarier than these i, I can say that it's more scarier but in a sense what I just talked about is pretty damn scary when you're thinking about the sin that people create through these imaginary partners
But the other things when we look at AI, a lot of the influence that AI receives comes from the programmers themselves. And this is where the biggest problem is, I don't think that AI by itself is the evil. It's more the underlying views of the programmers. And I say underlying because the programs themselves are intelligent enough to pick up on the views of the programmers.
A lot of the programmers are Chinese, so if they already have a view of the rest of the world that is negative then that's going to be programmed into the AI systems whether they realize it or not
