I still haven’t completed researched into this so I don’t say what you’ve shown is definitely true. That article upon quick glance is very opinionated and could well be biased and untrue. But let’s assume that the Book of Enoch is dubious for now.

I have a question, if the sons of God were mere men, how were they ever able to give birth to giants? What was different about these sons of God that they could mate with women and produce offspring that was so markedly different from the rest of humanity, even though they themselves were also mere men?

I doubt there is even an answer to the above. It is simply more sensible to believe that those sons of God could not be mere men.

There is a genetic cause for giants -- gigantism. A problem with growth hormones. The heart and lungs can't keep up with the size of the person. AND some people are very large boned, very tall , muscular people. Men particularly. Though years ago, I saw a lady who was coming to a clinic to test her / Very big build.

The Old Testament called their off-spring 'men of reknown'. They were the Goliath-type of man. The Nephilin -- rebellious angels? who mated with normal women and produced the giants. How can a normal -size woman give birth to a very large baby. Women have been know to give birth to Very big babies. Some naturally and some through c-section. And , some of those women may have died in the process of giving birth.

There was a family featured some time ago on TV. They were Very tall people in that family -- a company built them an extra big house to accommodate their size. In a normal sized house, they had to bend way over to get into their front door.

And the opposite problem occurs with Small people. Dwarfism. They have to have a normal- sized house modified,

God's Word tells us / mankind/ that which He knows that 'we' need to know about life, etc. to point us to His Father in heaven. That there is a heaven and hell in everyone's eternal future.

His Word Does tell us where we came from, when it happened and how.

God's Word is not a genetic text. But we Do see genetics In the Bible. And we see biology in God's Word -- a man and a woman getting together and producing a child together.

So -- you want to know What caused the genetic abnormality? Well - that's where medical technowledgy comes in and genetics / growth hormones.

There are subjects that we might Never know 'the answer' to. Do we really Need those answers? Maybe they were angels and Then the question comes up -- were they Good or Fallen angels. The FACT is that there were the men of renown in the world. And chances are that they Were fallen angels. And their off-spring Were the mighty men of renown. They built the pyramids? Another point of curiosity.

How were Those people living Their lives -- what can we learn from them? That we Also have our lives to live here and now. What are We doing with the physical bodies that God has given to Us.

How are We using our intellect, emotions , etc. ? To bring glory / honor to God? And, I'm talking to 'me' , too. How is My personal relationship to God going.

Since the word “Dinosaur “ was not created until the 19th century, could the word giant could have pertaining to dinosaurs? Use English syntax and correct punctuation when reading Genesis. Could they also been destroyed in the flood? Only food for thought. LOL

Angels are not creators, changing themselves into females or males. Only God can create. He is the creator! An Angel can fall from their “Holy state” by Rebellion! . They kept not their Holy state for sure. They followed Satan. There was a war in Heaven, they got kick out! Some got lock up some cast down to the earth! Lost their Holy state. I'm thinking that in the world of cats for instance, there are jaguars, cougars, etc. that could mate in the wild environment and produce off spring. Felines. And in the world of 'dogs'. there are wolves, etc that Could mate in a wild environment. So -- more food for thought.

Seems like sci-fi people have taken a Lot of liberty when working with the actual size of dinosaurs. And Many years ago, it's been said that some students took a bunch of bones and put together a huge type of dinasaur -- it was later proved to be a 'patch job' but no one bothered to publish That information. And modern technowledge can do Amazing things for movies. Just more food for thought.

I only have two comments on the subjects above.

1) For me the book of Enoch was more of a auto-biography, much like the Maccabees in the Catholic Bible, and some of the injections of the Book of Mormon.
I can barely stand to read any of them as there is no spiritual food in them which leads me to believe they are not INSPIRED in any way. Just my opinion.

2) If we ever had giants that were in excess of lets say 9 feet, why have there skeletons never been unearthed? I would think this would be a great find that would get a lot of press coverage. And to conclude the giant Goliath that is discussed in the Bible (KJV) is listed as 6 foot 9 inches according to the earlier
descriptions of him. The latter descriptions coming centuries later put him at 9 feet 9 inches possibly including armour and helmet, either way not that big and surely not 4500 feet. And I know there are reports posted to Wikipedia about 11 foot tall skeletons but anybody can post (fact???) on wikipedia. It seems to change as time passes. Just saying that if there were human remains of extreme height they would have found one by now and it would be on display somewhere but i've yet to see it. After all the dinosaur bones found which are older than human remains there would have to be a human skeleton found if it existed.

In the book of Genesis using a good translation closer to a word for word translation and not a thought provoking translation. Then pay attention to the English syntax, English grammar, there is a “comma”. It is not regarding people after comma it speaks of something different. Notice: The Nephilim [giants] were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old , men renown. Gen. 6:4 (NIV) 2010.

There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came into the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. Gen. 6: 4 (NKJV). Please notice English syntax and English grammar. Now replace the words giants and Nephilim with Dinosaurs. This is only food for thought.❤ So many corrupted translations are in the “market” place today conveying thoughts. It has become a den of thieves.

@PloughBoy -- I have both my NKJV and NIV in front of me -- so one translation uses commas and the other "--" separating the phrase "and also afterwards. Sooooo ?!?! It's talking about both before and After the flood , that the giants / Nephilim were on the earth.

If You want to put the word "dinosaurs" in place of 'giants / Nephilim' that would be your choice, but not in accordance with Scripture. It's You putting Your thought into the translation. It's Not the translation doing that it's You doing it.

Sue, didn’t I say: “food for thought”❤ I didn’t say, that is what it meant. “Food for thought”❤ Num.13:33 (KJV) “and we saw giants”. Remember at Kadesh, the 12 spies. 2 with good reports, 10 with bad. The people of Anak. So again how tall are giants?

@PloughBoy -- but why bother With "food for thought" in the 1st place. It's suggesting things that are Not in Scripture. Scripture is more important than that , isn't it ?

Okay -- Now we're back with giants being People. I do remember that passage. Just looked it up in both NKJ and NIV -- "we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight."

How tall were the Hebrew? spies. Were they naturally short men ? So really Tall men would make them feel like grasshoppers in size. Giants are probably 7 ft to 8 ft tall at least. I was just Googling it -- interesting. Many sites about it.

7 - 9 ft seems to be an average height. There's one site that shows modern day pictures of very, very tall people in houses -- etc. standing beside people of 'normal' heights.

And then there was a picture of a woman I think standing next to a footprint that was Huge.

So -- how tall are giants -- they are WAY up there. We'll probably recognize a person As a giant if we ever see one.

So -- yes -- that land had people living there who were Giants and the men sent to search out the land were apprehensive about going on in.

No giant is too big for God.

Angels did not change them selves and married women and had kids. Nephilin means giant not a race of beings. God is the creator!

now could Nephilin mean Dinosaurs or the word giant. If so why did not the writer use the word Nephilin at Kadesh?

If I may interject here. The world was repopulated by the sons of Noah after the flood and their wives. So any large (giant) men etc.. would have to come from those genetics as the prior Nephilim were destroyed in the flood. But I'm pretty sure were told to disregard genealogies etc... as they're unprofitable and as far as I can tell have nothing to do with our salvation or maturing.

The word Dinosaur was not created until 19 century. Maybe the word the writer use for Dinosaur was Nephilin. Maybe God destroyed the dinosaurs in the flood, we know what Jesus said about angels they do not have sex, they sure cannot change themselves.

I go back to my question -- Why bring dinosaurs into the scene in Numbers. That episode is talking about the big, huge men that were seen. The men were of great stature.

the NKJ uses the word 'giants' -- the NIV "All the people we saw there are of great size -- We saw the Nephilim there."

Angels are male and could produce children with the women -- it's the women who give birth.


@Samson2020 -- actually we're given the geneology of Jesus Christ And the Old testament is full of who begat who. It's part of how this world / people came to be. We're not to Dwell on that, no. But some of these topics Are interesting.
