Hi I'm not sure if anyone can answer this. I'm doing alot of meditation, reading, going for walks and stuff I like doing, things that lifts my spirit. Also I do alot of prayer work. But the question I have is why must we suffer? Like, why do good people go through bad things? Cause I hear its to grow, but I started my growth process and I'm still going through stuff with the same person as I was before my growth started. A family member. So I just....I don't understand, why's it still like that???

I see nobody has jumped on this and it is, truly, a tough one to answer. When everything is going our way we, humans, tend to become arrogant little puppies. I trained and served 8 years in the US Army in the sixties, when the DI would still jerk his rank off and meet you behind the barracks for personal training, if, like me, you were a smart-mouthed DOD brat.

All of my first five years of training were difficult to make any sense until I found myself n the field of combat. In combat, I found that not all of the hard lessons had been learned in the five years of preparation.

You are in Yahovah's Army, at war with an ever-changing enemy working to force you to give up and just quit.

God changes those who choose to follow Christ. He will not change anyone against their will. Some of the problems we have in this life as believers in Christ will follow us to the grave. There is nothing we can do about the other person except let them see the change in us through faith in Christ.

We have to do as the apostle Paul said,

Philippians 3:13-14

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

We have to keep pressing forward in Christ regardless of what is happening in our lives. If you place Him first, He has promised that all things will work for our good, no matter what is happening with the other person.

Romans 8:28

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

The important thing is for you to stay on track with God through Christ, and not let these problems weigh you down. Find a Bible believing Church and begin to fellowship with those who are trusting in Christ through this life.

So you are growing. Praise be to God. Is this other person?

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
(Matthew 5:44 KJV)

Consider it practice.

He will not change anyone against their will.
?????

And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had spoken unto Moses.
(Exodus 9:12 KJV)
And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
(Acts 9:3-5 KJV)

I'm fairly sure it wasn't the will of Paul to be blinded.

God bless,

My statement was concerning changing the hearts of individuals, God will not go against the will of any man to change his heart.

God didn't change Pharaoh against his will, God doubled down giving Pharaoh exactly what he wanted, a hard heart.

Jesus didn't change the heart of Paul against his will. Paul chose to follow Christ of his own free will.

I'm not needed here but he is speaking from the context and is correct.
Context never contradicts what is written. Context is the excuse that people make to change what is written.

(But I understand that people need to add in things to make what is written easier to ignore.)

This whole "God will not change anyone against their will" ... just which scripture says this?

That said, you know darn well the scriptures that say God chooses YOU, and that ALL are sinners, and that it is the will of all sinners to remain in sin.

(Need I actually post these?)

Sounds like Calvinism to me. The purpose of hearing the Gospel is to change the ignorant heart toward God.

That is the theme of Scripture, "whosoever will let him come."

YOU TAKE THAT BACK :grinning::grinning::grinning::joy:

The purpose of hearing the Gospel is to change the ignorant heart toward God.
Then you have changed the Grace of God into a mental debate with sinners.
It is the Holy Spirit that changes the ignorant heart toward God.
Why pray for your enemies if God does nothing?
Would Jesus command you to do something useless?
Asking the Father in prayer to save someone is the exact opposite of Calvinism.
(You'd better hit the books again.)

That is the theme of Scripture, "whosoever will let him come."
Your quote is not found in Scripture, leading you into error.

There is nothing we can do about the other person except let them see the change in us through faith in Christ.
So your prayers are in vain?

We have to do as the apostle Paul said,
We have to do as Jesus, the Son of God says.

(No wonder this world is in a mess. Christians let people do whatever they will.)

There's an old hymn called "Throw out the Life Line..."
The metaphor is that sinners are drowning in the sea and we preach the gospel as a life preserver thrown out to save them, but THEY have to grab on to it and we pull them safe into the boat.

Absolute utter NONSENSE.

WE get out of the boat.
Walk across the water.
Grab the sinner who is drowning, and carry them back into the boat.
If they struggle and fight, we knock them out first.
(The insane ones can jump back out of the boat later.)

It's not found in Scripture?

Rev. 22:17

"And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely."

The enemies I have are the ones who reject Christ, which means they're not very fond of me.

I gave them the Gospel and that's where the hatred began.

I'm not needed here either but Rhema is wrong again....Context is given so we know what is being said, instead of making ass-umptions and getting it wrong

Every time a person hears the Gospel message and refuses it (like Pharaoh) it hardens their heart. I guess if Pharaoh resists God word that could be said God hardened his heart by his rejection of God’s word.

I'm not your enemy Charlie. Period. And I have no hate for you.

That said, I can say that I'm perplexed as to how you process certain scriptures into the conclusion you make.
