Quinten and His Family

Hi everyone;

I would ask that you join me in prayers for a good friend and his family. Their 2nd son Quinten was born on Jan16th and at the time everything seemed very normal, however at 8 weeks of age they began to notice that his leg and arm movements were decreasing. By the age of 12 weeks he was diagnosed with SMA (spinal muscular atrophy). SMA will cause his muscles to degenerate to the point where he will not be able to swallow and breathe properly. He has the most severe type of SMA, which usually carries a life expectancy of two years. However, Quinten’s disease has been progressing very quickly and has been having problems keeping weight on. The news yesterday was that he has just meer weeks left in his young life instead of the months they expected.

This is a family who only 4 years ago had their daughter pass away from a completely unrelated disorder after only a short time here on earth.

I ask if you could pray for comfort and wisdom for this young couple and their family as they begin to make major decisions on where to go from here as they are being faced with making decisions about stomach tubes, ventilators and different medicines.

Father I pray that you would bless this family with an abundance of wisdom, strength, faith, love, and peace. Be with this young boy as he fights through this situation, and Lord if it be in your will to bring him home to you, then send him an angel to comfort him and carry him through his journey home.

Most importantly Lord I ask that you would be with his family as they struggle through this journey. It is a trial, but also an opportunity to grow closer to you Father, and I just pray that they would take this opportunity and let you strengthen their faith. We know that you do all things for the good of those who love you, so Father, please bless them with an understanding of your will and your ways, and I pray that they would see and realize why you are leading them through this wilderness.

In Jesus' name, I pray for the family described above that God in His infinite mercy will meet them at the point (s) of their need (s),spiritually, physically, emotionally, financially and in anyway and everyway they are hurting. I pray that the peace of God that passes all understanding of men will keep them all at this time in Jesus' name, amen.

I ask that you please pray for that of strength for Quinten's parents Chris and Shondra tonight. May the Lord comfort them and give them and that of their families the strength they need to get thru that of the coming days as Quinten's health is failing quickly.

Just an update. Quinten went home to the Lord early yesterday morning.
