Prov 16:32; One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And one who rules his spirit, than one who captures a city.
Prov 25:28; Like a city that is broken into and without walls So is a person who has no self-control over his spirit.
If the Holy Spirit is in us, we should let him be controlling what we do.
But some people resist the Holy Spirit. Some people can't even control their own spirit.
These are usually the people who want to tell us how to control ours.
These verses are proof of free will. We can control our thoughts and our actions. The question is... do we choose to?
There are verses that talk about self-control, self-control is the opposite of God-control. (one of the fruits of the Spirit in Gal 5 is self-control)
Do you have self-control? Do you have the discipline to control your spirit?
