We must crucify our sins because that was the reason Jesus died for us.There is no need to keep going astray because we can come back and ask for forgiveness. If we were not sinful there was no reason for Christ to die. Were it not for sin then death would never have had a beginning! And were it not for death then sin would never have an ending! . Man began to be sorrowful when he began to be sinful. The wind of our lusts blows out the candle of our lives. If man had nothing to do with sin then death would have nothing to do with man.
Of all evils sin is the great evil! "The wages of sin is death!" Romans
6:23.Sin kills both body and soul and it throws the body into cold earth rotting, and the soul into the hot hell, burning!.Therefore do not sin.

Hi Mufaro,

Both Romans 8:13 and Colossians 3:5 tell us that we are to 'put to death', or 'crucify' (as you say) the deeds of the body, but that is an impossibility in the flesh, the secret as to how that can be done is revealed in Romans 8:13, where it says, 'through the Spirit'.

We are to 'reckon ourselves to be dead indeed unto sin but alive unto God - through Jesus Christ our Lord' (Romans 6:11)

The sins we commit are the fruit borne by 'the root' of sin within, which we inherit from Adam. It is that root of sin that our Lord dealt with upon the cross, it was SIN itself, and not 'sins.'

We who are 'in Christ' by grace through faith are to 'reckon' ourselves to be dead indeed unto SIN but alive unto God, for it is only by so doing that SIN's power is cancelled in actuality in our lives.

This is a faith position, it is not according to sight, so it is no good looking within, for all we will see there is failure, but by looking to our 'standing' in Christ as those who have been 'accepted in the Beloved' (Ephesians 1:6) we are enabled to walk before God in the light of His presence as those who are 'holy and without blame' in Christ Jesus our Lord (Ephesians 1:4).

This is the only way of victory.

In Christ Jesus
Our risen and glorified

hello, mufaro:) i must concur with 'complete'. if i live by the Spirit then i should walk by the Spirit. we who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with it's passions and lusts. these are things done in Christ by faith in Him. He alone is the propitiation, the atoning sacrifice, for us so that we might be reconciled to Father. there is no longer a labor for us to perform since we enter into His rest. take some time and read Hebrews, Galatians, and Ephesians all of which are tremendous books to bring this into perspective for you. be blessed, fellow saint!

Hi,

There is no difference between 'Aristotle' and myself Mufaro, for I too believe that our life should reflect the new life that is within us. However I believe that it is achieved by reckoning on the fact that we have died unto sin and been made alive unto God, and therefore walking accordingly, as those who walk before the Father in the light of His presence.

In Christ

When Christ told us that we must be born again(from above) He is referring to our resurrection from the death of sin to the life of righteousness.

Sin

Am thankful to you all and your teaching have been a blessing to me.Be blessed.

We must crucify our sins because that was the reason Jesus died for us.
^No, we mustn't crucify our sins. Jesus did it all on the CROSS. If we were to crucify our sins, then we are being Jesus. And there is only ONE Jesus. He already crucified our sins. It's done and it's been paid for. He's purchased us from his blood. We are FREE from sin.

Mufaro, i am from South Africa

Mufaro, the biggest lie people believe today is that we cannot stop sinning! Show me the verse in the Bible that says we will always be sinners. There is no verse that says that, and there is no verse that gives us permission to sin.
In Eph 4:11 to 13 it clearly teaches us how saints are perfected. By whom? By the Apostles and Prophets and Evangilists and Pastors. Not the Pastors appointed by men or certificates. No! Pastors appointed in the Holy Spirit by Jesus Himself! Read Eph 4:11 to 13. How can an imperfect man teach another man that already stopped sinning, to be perfect, if he himself is not made perfect!
I believe every person that is moved by the Spirit of God CANNOT sin. Because the Spirit of God cannot sin! Every person that sins, have not recieved the Spirit of GOd yet! He needs to crucify (die off) all his sin. then he is saint, and then God will appoint a (Teacher) over him to become a perfect man! Eph 4. Also read 1 John 3, and see how sinners are not God's children!
May God has His way with us both my friend.

Jesus Christ though God walked as a man. He did this to pay the price for our sin and to give us the perfect example of how we are to walk.
Jesus did only what He saw the Father do.
Jesus spoke only what He heard the Father say.
He did no work until empowered by the Holy Spirit.
He was led of the Holy Spirit in all He did.
Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
This was our perfect example. We are to walk in in complete submission to and total dependence on God's Holy Spirit. It is He who leads and guides us into all truth and it is He who reveals the Father's perfect will to us.

This is where one finds the fruition of what Christ has done for us.
This is where one finds victory over sin.
Anything else is a work of the flesh and will be consumed as a filthy rag.
All must be done at the Father's leading and in the power of His Holy Spirit.

Hi,

I think that it is very important that we should understand what sin is. We all see the fruit of SIN daily, but what is sin as described in the Bible?

The purpose of the ages, redemption, death, and resurrection, indeed practically all doctrine, prophecy, and practice are shaped and coloured by its fact and presence.

The meaning of both the Hebrew and Greek words used for sin mean 'failure'. Wickedness, guilt and rebellion all stem from the initial failure of one man.

Man was made in the image of God, and placed on the earth to have dominion. By the deception of Eve, Satan caused Adam to miss the mark, to come short of the glory of God expressed in this image, and he who had been given dominion himself came under the twofold dominion of sin and death.

A reading of 2 Corinthians 4:4, 'the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the Image of God,' show the complete reversal of this failure on the part of Adam brought about by the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

This is just one aspect of sin, there are others, for example 1 John 3:4 'Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.'

1 Cor. 9:20,21 places the Jew who was 'under the law' in contrast with the Gentile who was 'without law', ( except the law of conscience) - also Rom. 2:12 'those who sinned without law'; for in the fuller sense sin cannot be imputed where there is no law at all (Rom. 5:13).

Sin is that state and resulting condition that places the sinner outside the pale of God's law (not necessarily limiting the word to the law of Moses).

Righteousness, on the other hand, is that condition and state arising out of complete conformity to God's law (not necessarily limiting the word to the Mosaic). Hence sin and righteousness are the two expremes, sin the negative and righteousness the positive. This is emphasized in the words, 'All unrighteousness is sin' (1 John 5:17).

Praise God that by His grace and the all-sufficient sacrifice of His Son, we are able to stand without blemish and without spot in His presence, for we are saved from sin and it's consequences, and are covered with the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

In Christ
Chris

PS.
There is probably more to be considered on this topic of sin.

Chris , thanks for the time. I just hate justification of sin! You know I used to sin a lot and badly, but it never bothered me. I was 38 and a half years old before I even cared whether there was a God or not. I did all the sin, and really it did not bother me a bit!
But then the Holy Spirit decided to start His Job on me. He showed me the pain the sin I commit causes! It was a mess! And all of a sudden in that one split second God became real!
The Calling of God is useually made in that split second when a person realize there is something bigger than you! And later you would learn that He is much bigger than you thought.
Any way, I also started in a church like 2.2 billion other people. And i was fed the lie....Jesus died for our sin! Nope, it is only half the truth, and anything short of the whole truth is also a lie, and worthless! So please if you consider the grace and gifts of God when you teach me the Gospel, please teach me the Whole Truth!
The Whole Truth is he did way more on the cross and even more after the cross! He rose and went to the Father, and returned already! Where is Jesus right now? If you say he is on the right hand of the Father, and do not add, that He is here with us right now, then I have no clue about Jesus and how He operates! So many people gets stuck at the cross that they NEVER reach the goal God called them too in the first split second!
God's calling is not for sinners to repent, it is to repent (finish repentance) and be baptized.
How many baptized people do you know that needs to repent? Well i know plenty, many more than some I know that also were baptized, and they never need to repent ever again. Why? Because they are perfect! They were sinners, became saints and were perfected by the Teaching Team! They lived the Life God called them too, in their split seconds! A Life that has no place for sin, because in that Life there is no sin! It is a Life in God, hidden from all unrighteous people with Christ! These people swopped their cleansed spirits for the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit is Christ Jesus!
If you know the WOrd of God, you will agree with me. I am probably the first person you meet that teach these "weird" things, but i get it all in the WOrd of God, and let me ssure you, if Jesus was typing here I wonder if any of us would have understood!
I find the more I know of the Bible the less qualified "teachers" are out there. Even the great worldly teachers becomes rather silly. But Paul and James and John... Wow man, those were holy men with God's wisdom! And that is why I really enjoy their company. And the more i say what they said, the less popular I become.
So i hope you find me more acceptable every time we communicate, because i only seek God's will. and His will is.... Matthew 5:48 and 1 John 3:9. Enjoy your search for God, my friends. because the finding is the goal! MAy God has His way with us sharing Truth! Amen!

Mufaro, the biggest lie people believe today is that we cannot stop sinning! Show me the verse in the Bible that says we will always be sinners. There is no verse that says that, and there is no verse that gives us permission to sin.
"...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23

Who taught you that you are sinless???? You sin. We sin. If we didn't sin, then we'd be like Jesus. Where are you getting your facts?

xspinningisfun, Thank you for the verse! Look at the tense in that verse, it says we all have sinned and falls short of.... and read the scripture around that exact verse, it also tells us the plan God has with the sin. The remission of the sins that are past! Again past tence! Soon as God cleaned your spirit, and He brought you to the light, he cleansed you from ALL unrighteousness. To keep you cean, He puts His seed in you and then you cannot sin, because His seed cannot sin! If His seed is in you, you do not fall short of the glory of God, because His seed is the glorification! Look what God teaches about His seed. Please let me show you how sinless His children are! I will do so in a new frame, so that we can know the Truth!

Can a person sin after rebirth? NO!

1 John 3:9. It clearly says that any person that is born of God, rebirth, cannot sin, because he is born of God! God's seed remain in Him. Before this person can sin again, God would have to remove his seed, and the person would die! God's seed is the Life that person now lives, and if God removes that Lif, then death occurs!
To confirm this "cannot sin" God says in 1 John 5:18. .. Look we should know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not... These people keep themselves and sin touch them not! Why? Because the same seed that was in Jesus is in these people! This is what rebirth means. We are not reborn, into ourselves! Jesus is reborn into us, and we are passed on to the Father.
The fleshly body I once moved, cannot sin, because it is being moved by God's Spirit now! I am not here to do sin, where I went to...God.. There is no sin! In God is no sin! And Jesus cannot sin, not in the flesh He moved when he died on the cross, and not in the flesh he moves today! These flesh are refered to as the Body of Christ. The Children of God, and the holy people the Word talks about.
Read Ephesians 4:11,12,13. Saints - people without sin, but not perfected yet. They would be perfected by the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, PAstors and teachers. Unto perfect men!
Any person that has the Spirit of God cannot sin, because God cannot sin! And He has to move out before that flesh can sin. If He does move out, He never moves back in again! That is the sin against the Holy Spirit. Hebrews 10:26. Believe me we will not recieve the knowledge of the Truth before we recieve the Spirit! The Spirit comes first, and with Him comes the knowledge. I have not recieved the Spirit yet, but I can read and I can believe, what I read, or choose not too! So can you! The choice is vital, though, because the choices effects our destination. In God, or in Satan! Choose! And you cannot choose both!
One more thing I believe. I believe Zacharias and Elisabeth were both righteous before God. Wow! that means they also were blameless. Even before God, read Luke 1:6. Oh they may have sinned in the past, but they stopped, otherwise they would not be blameless, and this was before the Spirit was in them. But God desided to keep them clean, because He can! He is God, and everything that belongs to Him He cleans and make holy! Amen!

as i was reading your posts this thought came to my mind....

1Pe 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

first of all God will not give us a command if it isnt possible. that dosent mean all by ourselves. he will give us every tool. He is the WAY, the truth and the life. somepeople say they are trapped or they feel trapped in what they do. its called bondage to sin. but whats in the heart of that person? what do they want. where your heart is there will be your treasure also. do we want sin or do we want to be clean before The Living God? it is possible to live without sin but we still sin. even if not obvious to others. but though a righteous man fall seven times he will still get up. the important thing im trying to say is keep your eyes on Jesus so you wont sink in the water. all things are possible thru Christ Jesus.

Amen Eddieb.

You know, I think God knew how thorough Jesus' salvation would be. That we would even get new thoughts! Eph 4:23. And please read this verse with an receptive heart. Look! at the following verse now! Eph 4:24. The new me is created, by the Creator in righteousness, His righteousness and His holiness. And He does it here!!!! Otherwise it would not have told me to be renewed, nothing is being renewed in heaven! We should recieve this wonderful GIFT here. May God please give me the new me! Amen!

Jesus sits on the right hand of the Father but He's also very present with us. After all, He's omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent.

The Holy Spirit is distinctly separate from Jesus.

Even Jesus Himself acknowledged this when He said he has to leave so He can send the Comforter to His disciples. The Holy Spirit is called the Comforter and also the Spirit of Truth and Revelation.

Jesus and the Holy Spirit are NOT one and the same. God is a Triune God....Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

Your passion for God is compelling but please do NOT end up with your own doctrine, where your thoughts exalt themselves over God's throne.

Do not put words in God's mouth and do not read into His written words what He did not put there. Don't be misled by your zealousness because then you may give satan a foothold to bring confusion and deception into your life by perverting God's word.

God is not obscure. He's very clear in His teachings and His words are not obfuscated in the least bit. Do not be wise beyond yourself, Cobus.

Take very good care to allow God to show you things and stop misinterpreting Him.

It would be sad and a betrayal to God if you ended up saying these things to other vulnerable, less read or possibly new christians. You do not want to lead anyone astray because God will hold you accountable....neither do YOU want to be led astray. What would be your excuse?

God bless and keep you. Amen.

Phoenix, Now I see where we split.

Jesus said he will ask the Father to send the Comforter. Look who is the Comforter... Same text you refer too! John 14:15,16,17,18.
Jesus is the Comforter, and He is the Father, and He is the Spirit and He is the Son! One God! with three duties, the one is to be God, Father, like me to my children. One is to be the Spirit, like me to my wife (husband) And one is to be Jesus ( the obedient son) Like me to my Father! One person (God) with three duties. Like me one person with three roles and duties. And what makes them all One! The character of Holinrss and perfection. God's Spirit is the charactor.
Holy and God! That is why we read.... HOLY HOLY HOLY is the Lord, three times? because the SPirit does three duties. 1. Be God, 2. Be Jesus. 3. Be the Spirit in all the children!
Beautiful Truth!
Thank you for your friendship Phoenix, cook well and may all your food be blessed!
