Stop and Think...don't brush this aside

What should I do this moment to be saved?
Do the will of God.

When Christ lives in you , when love flows through you, you will feel the Spirit move in you. The urge of the Holy Spirit.

One moment to pray for strangers, another moment to help a neighbor, yet another moment to give your coat to someone you see freezing. You may never know who that person is, all that is important is you do it out of love for others

A person like this may never know Jesus in his head, but Jesus lives in his heart. He may not be accepted by man, but he will be accepted by God

@Bill -- the will of God is that All would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

You're comments apply to a person who is already a believer.

Christ doesn't automatically come to live in a person. There is the essential part of accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. THEN the Holy Spirit comes to indwell That person And Then you'll have a desire pray for, help out, give to others when your families' needs are met.

A person Does need to be growing in the grace and Knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. A person hears physically with our ears and reading and Then applies it to his heart.

The poster "FrankdSegura" wants to know how to be Saved.

But everyone who confesses the name of Jesus Christ is one of his.
If I recall the Bible says the heart of a man his heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Nobody has Christ unless they confess him. If they truely know Christ they will write HIS sayings on the tablet of their heart. It says in the New testament about Jesus Christ
"Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man" John 2:24

What of the scripture i quoted. The man who said Lord Lord cast out demon, so he had to have been in the Lord. Because a house divided can not stand.

So you have the Lord rejecting one who believed and lost it. Yet others who did not " know" Jesus, go to Heaven

It's very possible to take Any passage in the Bible and use it in an unintended context.

that's pretty much what you did with the Romans passage that you referred to. It Is there, but not to applied the way you're applying it.

If we take the Scripture and departmentalize it, are we any better than say the Democrates who want to divide everyone into groups versus calling the Citizens of the United States just that.

It is vertually the same. I have heard here, in Talk Jesus. How Paul wasnt speaking to the Christians, but to the Jews. And there have been a whole lot of other divisions made over the years i have been here.

Well i can only say this, if you want to believe that. Then what was the point of having it in the Bible in the first place. The Bible is Gods Word for all. And even though chapters might start Letter to the Romans. Paul may have written to those ppl at the time. But it is Jesus that inspired those to bring these chapters together for all. Not just a few. So when im reading those words, they are ment for me to

What i look at are, what about those who dont confess the Lords Name. What about the billions of people who from the time of Christ till now, never heard of Jesus. Aztecs, American Indians, on and on and on. Are you going to tell me, God created all those ppl just to Go to hell.

I dont buy that. So you have to read scripture. And understand it. ....Not just follow the Pharisees. Because the Pharisees know the Law but dont understand the spirit of it.

That the Law was made for all mankind, and not just a few. As the Scripture is Jesus, i can safely say, it was Jesus who speaking through Paul says. For those who know the Law, will be Judged by the Law, and for those who do not know the Law, they will be Judged by the Law written in thier hearts

The scripture below is what helped me with that part. Just know that Jesus wants people to keep 2 commandments and by keeping those 2 commandments which are love God with all your heart soul and mind you will have kept all because Jesus told us to do to others what you would have them do to you.
"For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen!"
So people know to practice justice and love and are without excuse.
And those who dont acknowledge Jesus as who he is when they know he deserves it, they are not practicing justice because they know and are keeping quiet about it when God commands you worship him in spirit and in truth and you can only worship the living God by worshiping in his name.
True WORSHIP to the TRUE GOD is looking after widows, feeding the hungry, doing the right thing, acknowledgment of Jesus our savior..

I am Not Ashamed of the Gospel
16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
God's Wrath against Sin
(Jeremiah 6:10-21; Jeremiah 25:15-33; Jonah 1:4-10; Acts 27:13-26)

18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

@ Bill -- some Scripture has been written for / To the Jewish people. Lot of the Old Testament was -- we can still learn from it. For those who Are Jewish -- it's meant for them. For the rest of us -- we read and learn.

God's Word IS divisive. It makes us Think -- to examine our Own lives.

On Forums -- we have lots of people from lots of different backgrounds. We share our beliefs and get responses back. We Can learn from each other - it helps us figure out what we Do believe and Why.

And, yes, the Bible Is God's Word For ALL. A person's own salvation is the Most important part / concept presented In His Word.

Actually it's God who inspired people to write through the Holy Spirit.

As Christianity 'developed' -- salvation was meant to be given to God's Chosen people 1st. His chosen people were the Jews. The Jewish people as a group - rejected Him so He extended salvation to the rest of us -- the Gentiles.

The law -- Ten Commandments were given to show All of us that it's impossible to keep all of the law all the time. That we need a Savior. That Savior came in the form of the Babe in the manger. Grew to be our Savior. When a person accepts Christ as Savior -- we are given an inner desire To please God. His commandments become 'written in our hearts' -- Now -- if we Don't have the desire To please God. Then maybe we should examine our hearts. Have we Really accepted Him as our Personal Savior or Not. If we Haven't -- then, by all means Do so.

God did Not create people simply to 'send them to hell'. And you're Assuming that those various Indian tribes were pagan and never came to Christ. What God's Word does tell us is that He created this world in such a way that people CAN see His handiwork. 'we' / 'they' could look up in the sky and know that no human being put those stars up there or the moon -- 'someone' or someThing put them up there. 'they' could see in nature how life works. These people were offering up sacrifices to 'the unknown God'. They were following in inborn instinct To worship. Now, granted Some got Way off base and others didn't. the same thing happens Now.

We have all of God's Word available -- some of us accept and some Don't. Is God sending any of Us to hell ? No. We can be told His plan by others and either accept it or reject. It's just that God already knows from the beginning of time Who will accept and who will reject.

Actually , Paul was speaking as the Holy Spirit guided him To speak. He was speaking to a specific bunch of people pertaining to their specific needs at that time. The people were 'trusting" in the Law. Were they Really Keeping the entire law? or not? And, no they weren't because it was impossible to.

And they think you arent Christian. Lol you know the law as well as anyone. And express it well in your thoughts.

Its better to join a community and grow in the Lord, than not to.

Fellowship is very important.

In our charity, and this isnt money but charity from the heart as it was ment to be. In our charity, to see the movements of Christ within the unChristians. To understand in kindness and compassion that we are Stewards. We are shepards, if you will. To bring the lost home. And help them without condemnation. To bring them to the Light, which is Christ

Greetings Bill,

how are you?

what an honour....

To bring them to the Light, which is Christ

I can 'see' as if each of us is [ meant to be ] a light placed by the Lord along the Way, all leading to the true Light, and Saviour; and none of us might know exactly for whom or how or when the light that we are, will guide a lost soul out of darkness to the glorious Light of Christ.
Which is why. also, when the Signpost says. : Stop and Think... don't brush this aside, we all, with hearts made right by the Lord, need to let our light shine, and not hide it under a pot or table.

What an honour to be able to shine the light of God as part of His perfect plan of Redemption for all who will believe.

Grace and Peace; Mercy and Truth

In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John 1:4-14

Bless you ....><>

I am fine, thank you Brother.

One of my favorite passages in Scripture.

All of the Scripture, a letter, if you will. To all of mankind, to each of us. Not to be divided. " a house divided against itself can not stand" this scripture verse isnt just about individual ppl. But about the Scriptures as well.

Peace Brother

Thinking

Have you ever stopped to wonder
What this life is all about?
Why you're here and where you're going
When your lease on time runs out?
Maybe you've been far too busy
Trying hard to reach your goal

Would you let me ask you kindly
Have you thought about your soul?

You may reach the highest portals
And your dreams may all come true
Wealth and fame may be your portion
And sucess may shine on you.
All your friends may sing your praises,
Not a care on you may roll

What about the great tomorrow
Have you thought about your soul?

Don't forget your days are numbered,
Though you may be riding high.
But, like all of us poor mortals,
Someday you'll just up and die
Your sucess and fame and glory
Won't be worth the bell they toll.

Let me ask you just one question
Have you thought about your soul?

If you've never thought it over
Spend a little time today
There is nothing more important
That will ever come your way
Than the joy of sins forgiven
And to know you've been made whole

In the name of Christ the Saviour
Have you thought about your soul?

(author unknown)

For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and loose his soul (Mark8:36)

For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is Eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Rom 6:23)

Of course. I think about it every day as we are all worthy of hell but by His grace and through our repentance we can only hope we are saved. I think it is great to have faith, but audacious to think we are already good enough to get into heaven. Once we think that we slack. Just hearing profanity is enough to keep you out of heaven for God is holy and your ears would be unclean.

Well -- on our own merits No one will ever be good enough to get into heaven. This human body of ours is never "clean". But Jesus Christ died on the cross and was buried and rose again bodily the 3rd day so that our personal salvation is possible. If we can only Hope we are saved, then what was the point of the cross in the 1st place? We need to place our faith in the Fact that the shed blood of Jesus Christ is sufficient -- all that is needed -- For our salvation. We acknowledge our need For salvation and then accept God's way For our salvation. We thank Him For his salvation and the fact that no good works on 'my' part are needed. Anything More is saying that a 'good work' on my part is needed to Help make our personal salvation 'complete'. That the blood of Christ is not really sufficient. And that would mean that 'we' would need to decide Which 'good work' would be enough to get us into heaven. So -- No good work done by us will ever help the shed blood of Jesus Christ. We rely totally on Him. And then the Holy Spirit Will give us the inner peace that we're looking for. And He won't leave us until we are safe with Jesus Christ.

A person has to be lost before God will save them. Here's what Luther says.

"First, God has promised certainly His grace to the humbled: that is, to the self-deploring and despairing. But a man cannot be thoroughly humbled, until he comes to know that his salvation is utterly beyond his own powers, counsel, endeavours, will, and works, and absolutely depending on the will, counsel, pleasure, and work of another, that is, of God only. For if, as long as he has any persuasion that he can do even the least thing himself towards his own salvation, he retain a confidence in himself and do not utterly despair in himself, so long he is not humbled before God; but he proposes to himself some place, some time, or some work, whereby he may at length attain unto salvation. But he who hesitates not to depend wholly upon the good-will of God, he totally despairs in himself, chooses nothing for himself, but waits for God to work in him; and such an one, is the nearest unto grace, that he might be saved."

Martin Luther. The Bondage of the Will.
