Matthew 24:3
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

[Beware many will come telling you about me, for they will speak many things about me even as if they are telling you about me. But beware although they call Me "The Christ" do not trust them. For this time will come. They will say That I am "the Christ" as if they speak for me, But do not believe them or Trust them.]

[For they belong to this group" "Why call me LORD LORD and Do not do what I say" They preach, they feed the poor, they stand in your "Synagogues" they do miracles, they heal the sick ,they go to hospitals but I do not Know them. [Observed] "Teach them to Observed these things"]

"Jesus answered, “See to it that no one deceives you. 5For many will come in My name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come.… [Observed]

Listen and Believe! For there will be Many! They will deceive many! they will not only deceive pagans they will also deceive Christians! Pagans and other religions are not really deceived, they do not believe, neither do they want to believe anyhow. it is many christians who are deceived by false teachers! because they have taught them how to believe Theological lies and not "The WAY" of GOD. they Promote themselves, their own ways and Not "The WAY" of CHRIST but use his name just like "The sons of Sceva" and these men have become allies. For these, their ears have been taught to created a scratch for the "tingling" of certain sounds. that will satisfied The tingling of those who have the "itching ears"

Matthew 24:11,24
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many… [f you have that itch a scratch has been prepared by the prophets, who entices this whole world.]

2 Thessalonians 2

9The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the working of Satan, with every kind of power, sign, and false wonder, 10and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them. 11For this reason God will send them a powerful delusion so that they believe the lie, 12in order that judgment may come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness.

Hello @PloughBoy,

As you say, before addressing these questions, the Lord Jesus speaks in (vv. 4-5) of the danger of deception which will precede these events, and He returns to speak of this danger again in (v.23-25).

'And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.'
(Mat 24:4-5)

'Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders;
insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Behold, I have told you before.'
Wherefore if they shall say unto you,
Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth:
behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.'
(Mat 24:23-26)

'For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west;
so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
(Mat 24:27-28)

'When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation,
spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
For then shall be great tribulation,
such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved:
but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.'
(Mat 24:15-22)

'Immediately after the tribulation of those days
shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven:
and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn,
and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet,
and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds,
from one end of heaven to the other.'
(Mat 24:29-31)

* The three questions asked, are answered in reverse order aren't they? The Lord wipes away all of the secrecy and breaks down the possibility of deception regarding His coming, by telling them that His coming will be open and visible, for every eye to see.

Mark 4 BSB
10As soon as Jesus was alone with the Twelve and those around Him, they asked Him about the parable. 11 He replied, “The "Mysterion" of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to those on the outside everything is expressed in parables, 12so that, ‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven.’ ”

Isaiah 40
…3A voice of one calling: “Prepare the way for the LORD in the wilderness; make a straight highway for our God in the desert. 4Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill made low; the uneven ground will become smooth, and the rugged land a plain. 5And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all humanity together will see it. For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”…

Luke 3:5
Every valley shall be filled in, and every mountain and hill made low. The crooked ways shall be made straight, and the rough ways smooth.

Isaiah 42:16
I will lead the blind by a way they did not know; I will guide them on unfamiliar paths. I will turn darkness into light before them and rough places into level ground. These things I will do for them, and I will not forsake them.

Isaiah 45:2
"I will go before you and level the mountains; I will break down the gates of bronze and cut through the bars of iron.

Isaiah 49:11
I will turn all My mountains into roads, and My highways will be raised up.

Our "Mystical" prophets days will come to an end. And The Whole World will See a "GOD" that is not only a SON, But A "KING of ALL Kings" A Priest of All Priests" that The Mountains and the hills will obey HIM. Roads will obey his commands, Rivers and Oceans will bow down, that All may see, The visible and the invisible. it will not be "Mystical" there will not be a doubt who He is. All eyes will see. The Lamb and the goat, the lion and the bear, the wolf and the crow and the snake that crawls on the Ground and The "Viper" that lives in The ground that a mere child will play with. and mankind will have the capacity to Live a Thousand years, for no need for a doctor, dentist, or a hospital or "CEO"S". No smog of smoke from "cars or factories" no pollution of Christine rivers, you will not need any shoes! No Cruise ships and no Oceans or seas. No Amusement parks and the "Mosquitos' will not bite you.. So those who endure the "great tribulation" shall arrive, some to "eternal life" others will have the Capacity to Live a Thousand years and some appointed to Damnation at "The Great White throne Judgment" and You will be Ruled By Christ and all of "the Sons of The Living GOD" the kingdom of "Kings and Priest" with an "IRON ROD" and all will obey and No compromise. swift Justice! IF NOT, THE REBELLIOUS, will be dash to pieces. "it will happen" for it have been written before creation if self" and Jesus The Christ of GOD, Has been given orders and Commands from HIS FATHER and He will without Questions will carry those commands out to the fullest. {No Democracy} and No popes or pastors. No churches in The "Millennium". but There will be a "Congregation" of The LORD in the Millennium.

For this all have been written down in a "BOOK" in a orderly fashion, as it has been pleased By GOD according to his purpose. to please himself and not mankind.

1 Corinthians 1
17For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with words of wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. 18For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”…

Romans 1:16
I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, then to the Greek.

1 Corinthians 1:25
For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

1 Corinthians 2:14
The natural man does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Proverbs 21
…30There is no wisdom, no understanding, no counsel that can prevail against the LORD. 31A horse is prepared for the day of battle, but victory is of the LORD.

The Rider on the White Horse
…13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is The Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven, dressed in fine linen, white and pure, follow Him on white horses. 15And from His mouth proceeds a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with an iron scepter. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.

Matt 28:16; But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated.
Matt 28:17; When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful.
Matt 28:18; And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Matt 28:19; "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
Matt 28:20; teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

A few things stick out at me as I read this. This is one of only 6 verses in the Bible where the apostles are specifically numbered as eleven.
The second thing, well it amazes me. They saw Jesus be crucified... and now they see Him standing right before their very eyes... but still they "were doubtful".
I wonder how people can be so skeptical?

The last thing here is the great commission itself.. ( A slightly different version is in Mark 16:15-18; )

But Jesus says go and make disciples (in) all the nations. He says to baptize them. .. He also says to teach "them to observe all that I commanded you".
I kind of see this like a pyramid scheme. The eleven make a bunch of disciples, and those disciples make more disciples, and those disciples make more....
.. and eventually the whole Earth (well as many as will accept Jesus) becomes full of disciples.

But as we do this... we are supposed to do two things...
1. baptize them.... so if we don't baptize them, are we disobeying the great commission?
2. teach them to observe ( obey ) the things that Jesus commanded them to do.... so if we don't teach people to obey the teachings of Jesus, are we disobeying the great commission (and therefore Jesus)?

And this is truth. Scripturally a mystery is not something to be solved or explain it is something to be entered into.

Yeah, you see, there's this nuance between "know something" and "know ABOUT something". You can know ABOUT a lot of things with an encyclopedia, especially in this day of age, but you can only KNOW certain things through personal experience. A "mystery" is something you know ABOUT but do not know, and you'll never know unless you go through it.

What you say reminds me of God. Many know about Him but fewer KNOW Him (personal experience is key)

Yes - disobedience is rife in "Christianity" - people inventing their own doctrines to suit themselves.

Hebrews 6:1 Wherefore leaving the word of the beginning of the Christ, let us be borne on unto the perfection; not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,-
2 the teaching of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

"What is the difference between knowing about Jesus and actually knowing him?"
The indwelling Holy Spirit - baptism of the Holy Spirit.

On that note, I'd add that God reveals Himself through His natural revelation and special revelation, also known as general revelation and personal revelation. His natural/general revelation is known as "divine providence". Everything in nature is not God, but everything created by God reveals the existence and intelligence of the Creator, and it's accessible to everybody. Special/personal revelation, on the other hand, is only accessible through Yeshua, the incarnate of God himself. You can KNOW ABOUT God through his general revelation, but you can only KNOW Him through Yeshua.

That being said, these two are EQUALLY authoritative as they are both reveal God's glory, and usually, you must know ABOUT God first through general revelation before you can KNOW God through Yeshua, otherwise you'd either reject Yeshua altogether with a prideful mind or you'd be led to an idol, a false version of Yeshua that is not in the bible. This is why it is necessary to study the set-up of Yeshua in the OT, and to recognize all the work of God in our everyday life. Do not ever put God in this box labelled "sacred" or "religion" or "superstition", Holy Spirit is contained in that box.

"What is the difference between knowing about Jesus and actually knowing him?"
The indwelling Holy Spirit - baptism of the Holy Spirit.

The actual indwelling IS the key. Sadly, according to Jesus (Matthew 25:1-13), many who are part of the church (who believe they are "Christians" and call themselves that) are not His (Romans 8:9). I know we are to "know them by their fruits" but ho0w can we help them become conformed to His image? Or is that purely the work of the Spirit, and ours is to lead by example and pray?

Or is that purely the work of the Spirit, and ours is to lead by example and pray?
Yes. Everybody must work their own salvation (with fear and trembling).
And to pray for the lost and to support the weak is Christian love.

Salvation is a trinity of its own - justification, sanctification and glorification. Those are the start, journey and finish of our spiritual life. The only part we can work on is the sanctification, and that's a journey for a lifetime.

After considering the thought for many might not know the meaning of the Biblical word meaning of the "Consummation".

Consummation

kon-su-ma'-shun (killayon from kalah): The word, meaning destruction, completion, or failing (Isa 10:23; 28:22; Da 9:27) is translated interchangeably in the King James Version for another Hebrew word referring to a physical disease, and best translated "consumption"; compare Le 26:16; De 28:22. Not used in the Revised Version (British and American). The Hebrew variously but more accurately translated "full end"; compare Da 9:27; Isa 10:23; and "destruction"; compare Isa 10:22; 28:22. There seems therefore to be an inconsistency on the part of both the Authorized and Revised translations.

See a list of verses on CONSUMPTION in the Bible.

See the definition of consummation in the KJV Dictionary
